My grand father loved this song. I have a love recording of this song and he’s in the crowd losing his mind and hyping the players up and they’re having a blast, today would’ve been his 88th birthday and I play this song every year. Thank you for this, that Trombone player was amazing and it was my grandpas favorite instrument. Cheers everyone

I believe that this is a clip from a PBS pledge drive special documentary with Jack White covering the early history of recorded music starting with a lead weight on a string that went to the floor in about 3 minutes, thus, songs on records had to be that short or shorter. Seems like it was a multi-part doc and Pokey and this crowd burnt down the house, along with a bunch of other stars. The producers went to much trouble and expense to renovate the only equipment extant in order to duplicate the original procedures. I regret ever erasing that doc but it was about 6 hours of bandwidth and I figured I could find it again if I wanted to.
Do you mean "American Epic"? I think he recorded two songs for the album, but I haven't watched the film yet because it's difficult to get outside the US. May have to try importing it now if you say he's in it :D
I want a movie to be made about this whole thing.....from his start in Illinois listening to blues music in the diner to the time he meets up with the South City Three....how he fell in love with St. Louis ....and the world wide touring. I want to show clips of the history of American music to include all genres. The movie should be at least eight hours long with about ten sequels.
Great musicians playing a great song. Why? Because they love what they do and here they're doing it for the sheer love of the music, not because they're contracted to or being paid by an audience. Sheer love, and it shines all the way through.
