I love when you all speak about ✨big brain things✨. We’re all full of multitudes and I feel like this podcast is such a great representation of that. There’s silly goose moments, deep deep moments and everything in between. It’s refreshing to watch 💛🫡
Me too. I feel very represented by the mix of stupid juice interspersed with deeply academic thinking.
specifically going to the dells water parks for a 10th birthday omg so cool to know we all had the same childhood!
we value you naomi and love to hear these conversations!! and we love jo's experience too because it is one many of us have!!
Wednesdays are a holy day bc of this podcast
Who told Naomi not to speak about these things??? Crazy. Anyway this was an Ad for water sports and now I want to go.
I love the political talk and value you all for speaking out about important issues that we should all care about!
I love Muna so much. Thank you so much for talking about things that important to us all and being grounded in current events. I appreciate you all for having these thought provoking conversations. Shout out to Naomiiiiiii
🇵🇸
I love when you guys talk about engaging with the current (fucked up) reality (ie politics, capitalism, media literary etc). I don't look to y'all as the messiah's of that information, or expect you to only say the Truest Right things. I engage with your discussion the way I would with a friend, giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are trying to be well informed, but giving them the space to be wrong. I hope the rest of your fans are just as 'generous'.
Naomi you are not stupid!!! I love listening to these conversations !!! love you guys
i loveeeee muna book club adding to my storygraph to read list as we speak
i actually get all my book recommendations from the muna podcast keep em coming!!
this literally helps me getting through the week
No you guys it REALLY DOES HAPPEN when you hit a "certain age." All of a sudden you wake up, and you have no idea what songs are popular, who the hell these celebrities are, and, unfortunately, why you can no longer understand anybody. It is SO SAD and so true.
Do not stop talking the way you guys talk. I enjoy listening to your varied, very normal conversations. I wish I had a few good friends I could bullshit with regularly. :)
Somebody take Jo white water rafting, they've never been but I'm sure they'd love it 😂
this pod gets me through the week & i love the political takes of queers in media that i trust. helps me feel seen & all of yall are intellectuals - u engage ur intellect to understand the world
jo doing the ad reads with the tooth whitening strips in is sending me
the fucking photo of naomi and jo being absolutely ripped is taking me out
my fav rockstar popstar lesbians talking abt books and manufacturing consent 🥰
which one of yous has been bullying Naomi, fess up
My favorite band fr I love you guys 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
When Naomi was quoting the tweet about celebrity news and said "Kleibo divorces......" I almost had a heart attack because one of the hosts of Love is Blind Brazil is named Klebber and is married to his cohost, Camila... life imitates art
JACK HALBERSTAM MENTIONED 📢📢📢
Schlitterbahn water park is in New Braunfels, TX! It’s a German town and also has the Comal river you can tube in. Also San Marcos has the Guadalupe River which is just north of NB and about 30 miles south of Austin. Definitely doable if you have an extra day in Austin!
It's so funny that Naomi is trying to talk politics, Jo is losing it at the state of humanity and Katie is coming out with the most hilarious responses like she's part of a completely different conversation. I like when they talk about politics and books, I think it's important and it's interesting to hear their perspective. I would love a gayotic/off menu podcast crossover!
I hate to say it friends, but irl lazy river is also just called tubing and you can do it at almost any river that has a chill area. the russian river over by guerneville in norcal is a great option (:
the chelsea manning / grimes thing i don't think was ever confirmed. but grimes talked about starting a lesbian commune on mars at the time so it was like... maybe? lots of articles treated it as an actual thing
Speaking about "the intellectual" concepts and issues on the pod is a form of advocacy despite not being well-versed or an expert. We can never truly be the expert on anything. I am thankful y'all discuss these dimensions because they keep us (the audience) informed and aware, which inspires many of us to do our own research if we have the capacity. Love y'all 🫶
delaware mentioned🙏🏼 can confirm going on a natural lazy river here is epic
came here just to make sure someone said this 👋🏼 y’all should come visit Delaware, we’ve got things
I love when Naomi talks politics and social issues, what is being queer without this emphasis. If u guys turned this whole podcast into book reviews and commentary on social issues I’d love it way more actually. Y’all have a unique perspective. Tbh I skip the fluffier episodes and was thrilled to see the title of this one! 🫶🏽
Nvm why did I think the title was Zusha and book clubs 😅 😂 anyways I’d like to formally request book club episodes
I come here to dissociate and for book recs
WE LOVE WHEN U TALK ABOUT POLITICS AND IMPORTANT SHIT. Y’all aren’t dumbdumbs ur smart curious ppl invested in learning about the world !! So cool !!!
Jo looks so good this episode
Ok guess jeans x charli when?!
They have natural lazy rivers outside of Austin/San Antonio in New Braunfels. One is about a three hour long river float and you can attach a float to you that’s for a cooler and just float and drink. I recommend !
happy gayotic day everybody!! (the only reason i survive Wednesdays)
I also thought Naomi was talking about Cheers and was like the bar keeper?!? 🍻 😂
omg muna on off menu podcast with james acaster and ed gamble when!!!!
oh my god it's only been a week but already miss you guys so much
okay but can i join katies book club
Come float the Illinois River in Oklahoma 👀
I promise Delaware is real, it's not all PO boxes for LLCs. Sadly, I live here lol. I don't think the lazy river you want is here, I would not recommend touching any of the water on account of all the shit DuPont has dumped here.
Hey Gayotic! What sunscreen does Josette use?
Bend, OR has a pretty chill lazy river btw
Japan is not much better than the US btw
Desert Solitaire?
Katie stop-interrupting-challenge (failed)
I never thought the girls of MUNA would turn into a tinfoil hat podcast but there you go 😂
Josette’s recognition of “indoctrination” is very powerful. Yet I am concerned about how susceptible to bias and biased viewpoints Naomi may be, as represented in multiple episodes. The binary of “stupid” or “not stupid” is not really the issue……Distrust of institutions is a very serious problem, but there exist better solutions than the conspiratorial mindset …e.g., would be to hold accountable our institutions. Even Noam Chomsky understood that change is incremental…
What indicates to you that Naomi/any of them has a "conspirational mindset“?
Oh ew why are u listening to this podcast. Unfortunately one could say that Josette’s analysis comes from their privilege. Naomi’s analysis and refusal to shy away from current events and the acknowledgement of the shady and violent practices of Empire is necessary especially when the white queer audience is sorely lacking when it comes to the hunger for knowing why the world is in the predicament it is in. Again this all comes from privilege that white queers have .
love love love when naomi talks about this stuff
