Spent this week wrapping up the closet, skincare room and office space! I'll be back soon with an update... can't wait to show you! And if you want that Hulken discount: TSD5 for 5% OFF (it's not a lot, but they never give a discount so we'll take it!) I think the BEST size is MEDIUM- bit.ly/3VSdnDZ
I think putting 2 baskets on the top shelf of the skincare tower labeled 'donate' and 'expired' will help her keep from cluttering the shelf and motivate her to keep up on that. Eventually things won't expire and she can donate even more to those who can use it. Great series!!!!
Yesss the hoarders heart channel uses this by having a declutter/donate box and trash bin readily available. I definitely think this is useful especially if you have lot that comes in and out of the house constantly. That way whenever you come across an item that no longer serves you you can donate or trash/recycle the empty’s and such.
Thank YOU for allowing us to see the process of decluttering and organizing your home! Watching you two work has helped motivate me to tackle my own overwhelming spaces. ❤
Also, keep a bin for the aesthetician school. My mother was a cosmetologist for over 50 years. She always kept a bin to donate items she didn't need. It really helped the students. When she retired, the beauty school git everything and was so very thankful.
April, I am an organizer too and what I have learned over the years is that if you stand in the middle of a long hanging rack, it's easier for the client if you make an invisible dividing line in the middle of the rack and all the clothes on either side of that line face the middle. In other words, face all the clothes to the left of the line facing right and vice versa. that way you are always looking at the front of the garment. Just an idea.
Soaking the canvas bag in hot water and oxyclean should brighten it up. That's what I do for my canvas sneakers to get more use out of them. Rinse it really well.
Yes! I wanted to comment on your hair! I stopped colouring my hair two years ago and it is the best decision I've ever made! My hair has never been healthier and no-one can replicate my natural highlights! Yours looks absolutely GORGEOUS!
First of all…I’m obsessed with watching her house decluttering. Secondly, this job is right up my alley, my daughter too. I told my daughter she should start this business here locally. I wanna ask WHAT IS THAT THING?! The mirrored styler thing?? Next question, what is the deal with that tiny room with a window? I’ve googled fire rooms in apartments & found nothing.
I get overwhelmed with the amount of stuff that Eunice has but I love watching you organise it. And hopefully with Eunice being able to see how much she has will make it easier for not to buy more or at least be a lot more selective. I can't imagine trying to work out what to wear/use with so many options available. ADDED : I watched some more of the vlog and see that Eunice has already started letting go of more items. GO EUNICE !!
Whoohoo! Back into Eunice's place for more organising! I love this series so much! I believe Eunice deserves a home that is a sanctuary, but is also sophisticated and calm, to be able to be her best self and I just love going along with the journey - into the video!
This is so helpful. I'm preparing to move into my first apartment. Organising where everything should go is a challenge. My biggest interference is my parents who can't take a hint (or direct statement) that I don't my own space to be a carbon copy maximalist of theirs.
I think a storage solution with shallower drawers would work better for the boxed skincare products. That way they can lay flat with the labels facing up so she can see what she has at a glance.
my rule for keeping my closet minimal is "if an item doesn't fit in my dresser, there's too much and sth has to go" (except for outwear, shoes, rly warm shirts for winter, and a handful of shirts that needs to be ironed before use). it doesn't fit everybody's lifestyle, but it's perfect and works for me!😊
As you were talking about the drawers in the skincare room, I was reminded of the gorgeous shoe wall you created for the guy in Miami! If you could make a wall of clear drawers like that, it would look amazing and be very Eunice-friendly!
You are a superhero. If she cannot keep it like that, you need to put her on a time out 😂. It is beautiful and so well done. I cannot wait to see the final product. Will you be doing any work on her hubby's office or his clothes as well? I am also so anxious for you and Jackson to get a better home for your little family so that you can be home. 😊❤❤❤❤❤
I’m really curious on how you’re going to “fix” all her extra PR products that she needs to try. The only thing I can come up with is like a vending machine type deal. When new products come in they get inserted in the back and the older products get pushed forward for her to use hopefully before they expire. 🤷♀️ just spitting out ideas lol
Another great video. You asked about canvas bags going to the cleaners. I haven’t had them dry cleaned but I have washed them in the dishwasher, but let them air dry. They looked brand new.
Eunice has a closet full of beautiful close. I am wondering why we always see her in sweats in the videos?? Love you both!! Can't wait for the next video!!
With the canvas bag, I'd be cautious about dry cleaning but unfragranced, biodegradable baby wipes are often a great way to clean bags. Obviously try in a non visible area first 😊
It's looking so good!!! She does well with the open shelving. I wonder if you used the tall shelf with the blankets on it, would it fit where the drawer cubbies are in the skincare room? To continue the open shelving theme. Then the extra shorter shelf you showed at the end could be used for the blankets? Just a thought to utilize that vertical space in the skincare room. Love this series. Looking forward to the kitchen next! 💕
Hi April, hope you are doing well. I have a quick comment about color coordinating clothes. I personally have never done this because I have very few clothes. But, for a "collection" like this person has, I can see where that will enable her to see how many of each type of clothing she has. And, IF she wants to do a cleanout, it will really simplify things. However, the first time she does laundry and goes to put stuff away, I think you can say goodbye to the color coding, but I could be wrong. Good job wither way and she is lucky to have your help!!!
I actually color coordinate and stick to it with hanging clothes! Folded sweaters started color coordinated for me, but then just got stuck wherever they fit ha ha. But for hanging clothes it’s really helpful to find what I want! I have to see what have or else I’ll forget about it 🤪
@@SpaceMakerMethod You know, it seems like she has a lot of clothes, but if you have an active life, which she appears to have, it is really not that many. I on the other hand am 84, have health issues, and basically don't go anywhere, so totally a different situation. I currently have 1 chest of drawers and 1 hanger with 4 pairs of pants on it. lol
I maintain hanging clothes by color and it works well if like here you don’t subdivide except broad categories. The folded sweaters look impossible to maintain to me. I love vertical filing for those and would buy bins so that I could if this were my closet
Looking good! That up to the ceiling space in the product-work room is valuable real-estate - shelving units that fit on top of her current white selves - and a little step stool to be able to get to the high areas would give Eunice even more room! Can't wait for the pantry 😁
Love the tiny skincare room. No accessoires there makes so much sence! The new closet looks beautiful too. Tbh i would have done the same. My closet is very small and i change out seasonal clothes, everything is colour coordinated and by category (tops, bottoms, scarfs, dresses) and it helps sooo sooo much
April, the closet, etc. looks so much better! Excellent job and I can’t wait to see the other parts. Organizing the clothes by color will help Eunice so she can easily decide which item(s) to declutter when necessary. In the skincare room she needs one of those wheeled round stools like in a doctor’s office so she can manage lower items easier. I’d love to get a Hulken bag but I’ve nowhere to keep it but they look so cool.
19:07 actually, bending sharp curves in cords like that breaks the wires inside. You’ll be better off looping them into a circle that follows the natural curve of the wire and then taking the end length and looping it in and out around the curve which holds the loops together without stressing the wires. About as long as three loops of the natural curve. (I used to build wire harnesses and have a lot of experience with electrical and data cables.)
Eunice’s closet is looking good, so glad that she’s able to see everything, same for her skin care room. When I was younger working retail, we organized clothes L to R. I do my closet like this still. Start on left with sleeveless, light to dark, then short sleeve, light to dark, etc.
The closets in Korea are amazing! I can’t wait to see more of Eunice’s new space! I pre-ordered for myself the medium black Hulken bag as an early birthday gift! 😬 It’s going to come in so handy when I go on vacation!
I like Eunice, she has a great personality. I think if she was able to downsize her clothes, it would be easier to keep organized. She has so many of each category; I dont see the need for that many sweaters, that many pants, etc. Its nice she has a separate room just for her skin care products. Someone in a previous skin care video suggested dating the bottom of a product as it comes in, would help to keep up with expired ones. I like thd idea of colored dots indicating a different color per month, to keep on top of it. I also think a few nice photos or art on the walls in the SC rooom would like nice, definitely a mirror.
I like Eunice too, but I know she likes clothes too. I don't think she is organized but that's her personality. I also am not saying it to be mean because maybe she needs someone to come in and organize once in a while so she doesn't have to. Nothing wrong with that! Maybe you could do that? I would love to have someone to do that for me twice a year!
Hi l was wondering where you got those great clear containers with a lid, l haven't been able to find them, in Australia great job organisation those cupboards thanks for your help.
Teach Eunice the one-in-one-out rule for those beauty drawers. 😅 And in general. She has a lot coming in all of the time, so she needs a donatable donate box always on the go for the "one out".
I was just watching a Clutterbug video about organizing styles and there is one (I forget if it’s butterfly?) that she said most children are, and I wonder if it’s the same organizing style as Eunice is. (Not being mean, as I’m sure you weren’t either!) Very visual and organized into broad macro categories, quick and easy to put away, everything labeled. No style is better or worse than any others but trying to organize hidden and micro for a visual and macro person is a recipe for failure.
Hey, as someone who works with tech (and deals with lots of cord and cable management) I would probably not recommend storing cables like that (18:45) as it can lead to damage within the cable itself. Most cords have a "natural coil" which is better for storing and maximising their lifespan. Short term it should be ok but it's not ideal if you can avoid it :)
Hi April An idea for the skin care room. Would it makes sense to move the tall large gray container with reflection door on it to the far right corner of the room. And then move the two shelves that are currently on the right to the wall straight ahead as you walk in? I’m wondering if that would make things feel more open? 😊
It's called a 'styler' I think- seems to become more prevalent in Korea, I've even seen other videos where rentals, even studios, come with it included, as an appliance. You put clothes in there to deodorize, sanitize and even de-wrinkle, in about 30 minute cycles. I guess it comes in super handy, especially in Korea, where if you eat at a mom and pops place or a barbecue place, it can take days of airing out clothes to remove the food smell...and even then the smell will still linger on the clothes.
At the start of the video, I was thinking how nice your hair looked - natural suits you! Also, others may have mentioned this in a previous video - are there plans to cover that window in the closet? Even if it’s not southfacing, I would worry about clothes fading over time.
I'm not sure on the window covering, but I did recommend to her that they shade it to protect everything on the inside. But I suppose overtime (once they've been there longer) they'll be able to gauge how sunny that spot is.
Great serie! I am really enjoying it. Quick question: in one of the past video you said about the tiny clost inside the closet (the one where you put the blankets) that it's vacuum/air sealed space or something like that and in my mind, I associated that with a safe room in case of emergency (fire for exemple). Is it the case or I misunderstood it? If so, wouldn't be dangerous to store things there that prevent people to get into it?
My thing about all that skin care is that there’s no way that anyone will be able to use it. I understand that she’s an influencer and that her job is to review different products BUT, in order to review a product accurately you have to use it for an extended period of time, during the time you’re working on one product, the next one on the shelves already expired! Plus, some of those products might be counterproductive to use together so a review would be totally inaccurate. The reality is that most of those products will not get used at all before they expire and it’s just soo so so wasteful. Influencers should filter the amount of PR packages they receive, or if your plan is to donate them then you have to be extremely proactive and on top of things and donate it as soon as you receive them. No one can convince me that this amount of products make sense “for some people”. It just doesnt.
I have tried to colour coordinate my hanging things (a fraction of Eunice's collection 🤭) but it just doesn't make sense to my brain. Black then gray or brown? What goes where. It is NOT obvious to me.
@@merrivideo That also doesn't seem obvious to me. Pants first? Coats first? 🤔 I have not figured out the wardrobe thing at all. I want to be able to go straight to the right item. But I don't have a flow figured out yet.
@@The_Joy_Finder I only hang dresses and jacket. Then everything goes to a drawer. I have few clothes so all my pants go in one box, all my t-shirts to another, and so on. I place them by columns according what I use them for. For the hanging stuff, I also group them according the type of occasions I would use them for, such as: home, work, going out, fancy going out.
you can clean that canvas bag yourself with a toothbrush and a bit of dish detergent and some oxiclean. just spot clean it with like a tide pen or oxiclean, then soak it in a tub of warm soapy water, give it a scrub all over after that and rinse it, dry it in the Sun! and yes, the dry cleaner can clean it but it will take 15 minutes to clean it yourself.
While you were rearranging the clothes in the closet.. I was screaming .. she needs to be there.. if she were there she would easily be able to spot stuff that she doesn’t want any more.. doesn’t fit, doesn’t feel good etc. with her there and some big donation bags.. the space would get a lot clearer ..
Wait - Im always so confused over here....I thought Eunice was moving? I could swear you said she was moving from this place & you were helping her purge & organize before the move? it just seems that was quite a while ago... maybe it's just me!? But I saw a video where you & Jackson went over to Eunice's to pick up things you had stored there previously & now that she was moving you were taking them back. I always feel like I missed something even though I try to watch all of your episodes April. It would be so helpful if you could title your videos - Eunice's Closet makeover then Pt 1, 2, 3 etc. i know this says pt 5 - but what if you are new to the channel. "stressed & overwhelmed by Her closet" ..Maybe bcse the videos are spread so far apart? Maybe you'll clarify more as the video goes on....
She just moved and this is her new place that April is again graciously organizing for her. April is a wonderful friend!!! They look like they have a great friendship!!!!
Hi! This is her new place! Maybe the confusion is because the video you saw was a different video from this series. And Eunice was actually living in 2 apartments for a short time so we were going back and forth while they were waiting to find renters for the old place. Now she's all moved, but I had started this space before the rest of the home was moved. All of the videos should be in the playlist section or will have the # part on the thumbnails and titles. Hope that helps!

Color-coordination is my system in my closet. Being 60 years of age it is nice to know I still am like a child. 😃
Lol, me too!
I also prefer to color group/code! It looks so nice when you open the closet or drawers.

For how long the soaking
@@sandraglassner9618 I filled a bin/bucket with hot water and oxyclean and waited for the water to cool. Then drained and rinsed twice.

Yes, she does skin care videos focused on K-beauty (Korean beauty products).
I definitely had to google what a "styler" was!
Eunice needs big labels for the drawers. They will start working once they get labels on.
coming soon in hte next videos!
probably not related, but I love that denim top ur wearing😍 it fits you so well💖
Oh thank you! I found it at a Levi's outlet store in Oregon last year!
I have tried to colour coordinate my hanging things (a fraction of Eunice's collection 🤭) but it just doesn't make sense to my brain. Black then gray or brown? What goes where. It is NOT obvious to me.
I do black, gray, white, ROYGBIV backwards and then brown or put the brown with the orange!
@@moriahschairer Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try this.
I go by function, not colour. Hope it helps.
I hadn't even thought of that combo! I'll be sure to tell her! 💛
Those aviator sunglasses had you looking like Gloria Steinem. Look it up.
Where did you get those hangers for pants?
Here ya go!➡️ www.amazon.com/shop/thesuitcasedesigner/list/2XFNZY9NDAYFG?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
I looks amazing! I hang everything dark to light, I'm not a kid but it looks better😂
haha love it !
👍👍👍
💛
While you were rearranging the clothes in the closet.. I was screaming .. she needs to be there.. if she were there she would easily be able to spot stuff that she doesn’t want any more.. doesn’t fit, doesn’t feel good etc. with her there and some big donation bags.. the space would get a lot clearer ..
I feel Eunice should’ve helped you with the organizing
Hope that helps!
this new place is LARGE
It's actually smaller, but the lighter interior and big windows with all that natural lighting make it seem bigger!
You'll be back in another couple months to the same shambles of a closet. You just keep doing it for her.
I love Euni but she needs to find a solution that is intuitive for her, not an easy task but I agree this isn't a permanent solution at all
Have some faith guys, we aren't finihsed yet.
Would be nice to see some new apartments makeover... your channel is not the same anymore
