Sometimes when animals have a close relationship to humans they become a bit domesticated and don't live through instinct. They see life through "human-like" lenses, like "Oh I don't have to fly or kill because I have food at home". He probably considers humans his pack, so therefore is more comfortable with walking and being next to humans...
They don't develop anthropocentrism just because they have lived with humans for their whole life. Its just that they don't have to work hard to survive because everything is being taken care by humans anyways, which their body in response dulls its metabolically expensive functions so they could save energy.

I got the impression that this guy had some kind of medical problem to begin with, and he would have been dependent on humans in captivity anyway? Since they said he was born weak, and talked about how he doesn't have strong shoulder muscles so his wings are all droopy. I just kinda figured he had some kind of muscular disorder, and his tameness was more a side effect of that.
She is a rescue so in the nature she would have died as a chick. They shouldn't expect her to suddenly become a champion of it's species. Thus said, she makes for a lovely human companion as she is so goofy and sweet.

Honestly, she may not be the best bald eagle. I still love her though, sometimes an animal just can’t fit in with it’s own species. Survival of the fittest, so the ones that are too different won’t make it. If she was born in the wild, she probably wouldn’t have made it into adulthood. That’s why there’s people like you guys, to help the ones that are in special need. Don’t just blame her being this was cause she was raised by hoomans. Plenty of other animals that are fostered since birth by hoomans make it back to the wild just fine, but even then there are times where they don’t.
this eagle would certainly have died in the wild since it was not born with the ability to be a majestic predator. I'm pretty sure she is very happy being a pet.

Sometimes when animals have a close relationship to humans they become a bit domesticated and don't live through instinct. They see life through "human-like" lenses, like "Oh I don't have to fly or kill because I have food at home". He probably considers humans his pack, so therefore is more comfortable with walking and being next to humans...
They don't develop anthropocentrism just because they have lived with humans for their whole life. Its just that they don't have to work hard to survive because everything is being taken care by humans anyways, which their body in response dulls its metabolically expensive functions so they could save energy.
Thats incorrect. The dont "become humanlike". They are "malimprinted". This happens when the eagle is incorrectly raised in captivity as an eaglet.

I got the impression that this guy had some kind of medical problem to begin with, and he would have been dependent on humans in captivity anyway? Since they said he was born weak, and talked about how he doesn't have strong shoulder muscles so his wings are all droopy. I just kinda figured he had some kind of muscular disorder, and his tameness was more a side effect of that.

She is a rescue so in the nature she would have died as a chick. They shouldn't expect her to suddenly become a champion of it's species. Thus said, she makes for a lovely human companion as she is so goofy and sweet.

Well they raised other eagles, and all cutlures have done this, this eagle is simply an exception.
Honestly, she may not be the best bald eagle. I still love her though, sometimes an animal just can’t fit in with it’s own species. Survival of the fittest, so the ones that are too different won’t make it. If she was born in the wild, she probably wouldn’t have made it into adulthood. That’s why there’s people like you guys, to help the ones that are in special need. Don’t just blame her being this was cause she was raised by hoomans. Plenty of other animals that are fostered since birth by hoomans make it back to the wild just fine, but even then there are times where they don’t.

@@maxr.9547 you know that in these places they let the birds grow by themselves just so they have the normal extinct, but when you have very weak animals, the caregivers interfere and care for the animal which allows him to live with a totally different personality than normal

We can assert, "if the animal is happy, then it's positive", but only time will tell us if the fact of being raised (and having bred?) in captivity helped the genome of this eagle to survive
