My deep gratitude for this detailed and meticulously prepared video. I hope and pray that the eyes of the so-called modern people will open and see the historical truth instead of being led by vulgar materialism and uncontrolled anarchism and anti-monarchism.
The royalty who built up the spiritual and cultural monument -- Sri PadmanAbha-svaami Temple -- cannot be compared to the common kings addicted to consumption and empty enjoyment of life elsewhere. One point: when the temple became a main news item years ago there was a total misuse of a word in the news media, discussions by the intelligentsia, historians, and even a high court judge: the word Treasure = nidhi. I have no legal knowledge, but common sense tells me that "treasure" is something that is accidentally found and no one knows about its origins, and no one can claim ownership, etc. It should automatically become the property of people at large and should be handled by their government.
In contrast, the valuable materials -- meticulously registered in manuscripts -- found at the SRee PadmanAbha svAmi temple CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be described as "Treasure" because it is an inaccurate term. The valuables were in the first place OFFERINGS ritually dedicated (the video uses the correct word samaRppaNam) to the temple by believers, mainly the tiruvitAmkooR Royal Family. And as soon as the offering was made it became the PROPERTY of the Temple or more precisely the Deity. Yet, for years since "discovery,' people kept on using the wrong term "treasure" = nidhi.
Now, even if one is a socialist and believes in the dictum that "Property is theft" the Temple Property cannot be included under that category because of the following reason: A vazhipaad is given by the devotee for a blessing from the Deity. It is an exchange. The Deity gets the valuable item -- a paisa or a multi-billion rupee diamond -- and the Vazhipaad-giver gets a benefit in the form of recovery from an illness or getting a job, or whatever. So, what the Deity has is the Deity's earnings -- not stolen "Property." I hope the legal community will take into account this aspect of the Temple Valuables in future events when other logically disabled people will try to rob the dEvadhanam in the name of false pretenses.
