- Hey everyone! Im Liam, and today I unbox what I recieved from an eBay listing that I accidentally won. Yes, I said that right... Accidentally. I hope you guys enjoy this video!

A few years ago I won a auction for 1 cent for 3 brand new motorola RAZRS. I was the only one that placed a bid :)

The LG shine CU720 was the phone that inspired me to start collecting old phones I still have it
there are some folks on ebay that replace only the clear digitizer, I had it done not too long ago it's about 40 bucks and you keep the inside screen..its pretty impressive. I had to send mine in because the clear part was cracked but the LCD was still good..great video btw! subbed..👍🏻
The old Nokia you have there uses Nickel-Cadmium batteries, which are not very efficient. Same goes for the Motorola Microtech. To get it working, find some power cells; I recommend 18650 or something similar. Disassemble the battery housing, clean it thoroughly, and simply rebuild the battery. A useful tip is to add a modern charging port directly into the battery housing, so you don't need the original chargers. If it's not too corroded reuse the original BCM from the old battery cells. These phones operate on 3.5 volts of power. They will power on, as I have tried and done this myself many times. Since the original battery is quite large, you can do this very easily. It does require some soldering and minor knowledge, which you seem to have anyway.

That old Motorola MicroTAC is the first mobile phone I used when I was in the US Navy in 1994. Whoever was on duty was given the phone to be available when needed. When it first came out it was actually the smallest and lightest phone available. Crazy! That was a blast from the past for me.

16:20 add a battery that has wire on it solder it in place of the old one texts it out if not ic locked then go buy a new battery for it and fix the iPod touch 5th generation correctly.

I remember when the brick phone was brand new. Scratch that. I remember when the lunch box phone was new. 😮 Before that all cell phones were true car phones. Because they wouldn't come out of the car. There was a headset up front on a stand usa between the driver and passenger. Then the brain the size of like a 200w radio amp was in the trunk with cruelly antenna ither permanently mounted on like through the trunk lid er glass mounted on one of the back windows.
ahahah it wasnt on purpose!! honestly im in love with old tech. its crazy how far we have come in terms of cellphone tech. i have an old mercedese handheld flip phone in my collection, definitely unique! thank you for the story, i definitely enjoyed reading!

Lol. The Startac was actually on the smaller side. Some of the other phones available were monsters in comparison.
The RAZR and V600 were both good finds! The RAZR especially, it looks to be in very good condition. I have several of both models, all fully working and unlocked.
I may have some insight as to why that Nokia didn't power up. Many old Nokias won't power on with a bad battery while charging.
With the MicroTAC you may be better off purchasing the desktop charging cradle rather than the plug in charger. Those old MicroTACs wont power on while they are charging and if the battery you have is bad, you wont be able to power on the phone. The desktop charger allows you to power on the phone while its charging

@Liam I owned a pager/cellphone shop back in the 90's, the silver rzr phone you showed brought back some fun memories, that used to be my favorite phone to work on, so eazy to work on back when Motorola sold part replacements cheap. Glad to see the younger generation taking interest in these phones, they were built to last and could take a beating. True story, one night me and some friends went to a rock concert and my buddy lost his phone, we found it the next morning in the driveway after being rained on and at freezing temps i shit you not that Motorola StarTac cranked right up. The StarTacs in my opinion were the best all around cellphones Motorola ever made.

Some nice Phones in amongst that lot, I’ve got quite a good collection of Retro/Vintage Mobile Phones, My oldest Phone I believe is an NEC P3, Think I owned a Motorola Micro TAC & the Sim Card was the size of a Credit Card, I have no idea what happened to it, Last time I seen it was back in the 90’s, I do have a Motorola Razr V3 although it needs some TLC but does work and that is one of my favourite designs, I do have some nice Sony & Nokia Mobiles too, Happy New Year to you & yours, Anthony - Birmingham/UK 🇬🇧

That vintage Motorola cellular phone at 10:27 was my very first cellphone that I owned back in the day. I'm really beginning to feel so old right now. Lol 😅😂🤣 Sidenote...my current cellphone is a Moto Razr 2023, which I'm currently using to type this comment. 😁

Btw with old iPhones and some new iPhones that have jailbreakeable ios can be iCloud unlocked, but you got a way better chance with the old ones

well, since im not the one who would steal a phone, im not sure. if i knew for a fact that a device was stolen i would 100% try to return it to a previous owner. but if all else fails, im keeping it lmao

who said im innocent? i am an avid lover of tech, and i especially love being able to use things for parts before they get recycled. i hate waste, especially when whats being wasted still works.

no offense taken haha. my voice is surely higher now, but mainly due to the fact that i used to hide it back then. ive always had a higher voice but i was too embarassed back then. my time away from youtube helped me realize i really dont care what others think, and that its best to live authentic. so thats what i do now 😁

If a battery or charge Port is broken i always look if I have a phone whit a same kind of battery and you can charge the baterry with the one phone and put it in a other phone. I know it works with most Nokia,s

@airadalove haha no worries! well yes, a few things have changed. i go by they/them, its what fits me the best. and honestly ive felt this way for many years. ive always had a relatively high voice but out of embarassment i used to hide that in my older videos. during my break i stopped caring about the negative things people have to say, so i started using my actual voice in videos lol. my voice still has gotten a bit higher though!
