Far too late, the failure to monitor the volume of international students have caused incredible hardships for thousands and thousands of Canadians and damaged the social fibre of many towns and cities.

These politicians should be held accountable for allowing PR Card seekers students in such a huge number without foreseeing the hardships faced by Canadians in terms on job scarcity , social security , impact on Canadian Values and future of this country. Politicians who made these decisions primarily to create their vote bank and thus creating hardships for creating should be brought to books.

A cap is needed, but also a limit into those going to urban centres like the GTA. Not to incur in profiling but we already now which countries should have stricter measure for study VISA applications.

This still does not warrant these guys a vote. They have ruined the core value of Canadian society. This huge influx has not just ruined housing but also jobs and Canadians in general.
More curbs are needed to this. International students should only be given 90 days to find employment post graduation else leave the country. They MUST be employed in their field of education and not at Walmart so they can collect points and secure a PR

My neighbor with a master's in Mechanical Engg worked at a Walmart in my town for a year and used that experience to fulfill the Canadian Experience Class requirements and got his Permanent Residency. What about the international nurses that are getting special privileges to have their school paid for and work while they don't even hold licenses here. Why do they get special priledges and Canadian citizens still have to pay thousands to obtain a license to work for their own country.

Focusing on these low quality, strip all colleges will help, but it's a niche factor. This doesn't go far enough to address the housing crisis, and it doesn't go far enough to address the abuse and willful blindness that's going on in our education system. The big universities are just as bad - admitting students who can barely comprehend the language of instruction en masse, allowing rampant cheating, etc.
That's so true. I do group projects with them and I have to take their written work and completely redo it into legible, proper English. They send me stuff and I honestly cannot believe or understand their English. Then when it's essay time, they all use AI apps. So much so that my professor made an announcement that she gave out mostly zeros. I get A's and they enjoy that I actually sit down and write my own essays. It's unfair to hard working students.

This applies to all international students who are not going to Elementary and Secondary (high) schools. Fraud is not rampant in those areas as it is actually pretty regulated. It is, however, rampant in post-secondary- College where we have diploma mills screwing children out of thousands while making wild promises that cannot be lived up to and watering down our education system as a whole with sub par education at best. This also applies to new visas.

This is a start. This will help the housing stresses. Please slow down immigration long enough that all the new Canadian children can learn to be builders, and engineers so we can get put of the housing crisis. Canada max builds 280,000 new homes a year, but we bring in 440,000 new Canadians a year, for years. This is breaking all systems. Hospitals are over burdened, schools are burdened, and the justice system is over burdened. We need to close the door long enough to educate the youth into doctors, lawyers, professors, qnd engineers. Then we can go back to saving the world. Also, if you look at over immigration in Israel, and Palestine it clearly causes war, don't do that here please. Immigration should match growth ability. Engineers from other countries don't have the extreme weather we have here. Canadian building codes need to be applied and learn! Extreme heat in the summer, and extreme cold in the winter with lots of wet in-between! Need Canadians won't know these things very well. Educate need to be a massive part if we are to get out of this mess.

Sheridan is a public college and is not impacted by this announcement.
If you are already in the system with a study permit you would not be affected.
