Does anybody know if Alt Feli in PPT1 Japanese version sounds like that, too? I like to use Alt Feli, because she is more aggressive and the Japanese players hear her like this? Weird :D
@@m.m.2341 Feli's alt in jappanese Is just her normal voice but more energetic and genki.But also Feli's normal Japanese voice is more aggressive than her voice is in English so it evens out. Also id love the option to pick and choose whitch characters speck Japanese in battle cause for some I prefer jappanese and others English.

It saddens me just how many lines in the English version were re-used from PPT, I usually prefer the English version but for now I'm just holding out for a voice mod on PC that changes it to Japanese, who knows? Maybe they didn't get all the voice lines in because they had a deadline to meet or something? Maybe there'll be a patch for it since it's hard to believe they called up the old cast only to have them voice one or two new lines for spells. If that's the case then I can somewhat understand because there's probably a decent amount of dialogue in this game, but it's strange that a budget title like Puyo Champions had more variety with their spells, I know everyone was talking about how weird the voices were in that game but that was because of how loud the audio was in that game, not the actual voice acting itself, Sig and Schezo in particular have really loud voice lines in Champions, and it sounds like the two actors are too close to the microphone which they shouldn't be since they're both professionals and they weren't in PPT. In a weird way it's more strange to me that PPT 2's voice lines use re-used dialogue rather than the lower quality audio from Champions, at least the audio in Champions was consistently loud like that, but having inconsistent direction for lines is jarring, Sig and Schezo sound totally different in PPT 2 but then they've got lines from PPT that just break that "immersion" I guess. As immersed as you can be in Puyo Puyo game. (I like Eccolo's Alternate voice though, that reversed audio sounds really creepy and intimidating.) (Also I realised this game actually has a Japanese option by default, so that's handy.)
With Champions, there wasn't much of a choice. Most of the Japanese voice clips are from Quest, which doesn't exactly have much of a presence outside of Japan by virtue of only being released in Japan. It's certainly disappointing in most cases in this game, but I think Maguro can make it work. (Schezo's alternate voice, on the other hand...)
@@sonicboy678 In the Japanese version yes, they could just use Puyo Quest voice lines, but the the English stuff was all new, which makes it seem jarringly inconsistent to go from PPT and Champions to PPT 2.
The best way to watch the spells of the characters is by using big bang mode for the first 3, a tetris for the 4th, and a back to back for the 5th. It's just that you don't see the full animations like this... maybe someone can record these animations that way? BTW, the alt voices are quite funny: 14:44 Ringo became a CopyCat! Amichy, Kwug, Shigu & Waffina are at mini form / puyo pop babies 😂 (but Sig actually bursted the helium bubble Schezo & Tee popped in ppt1.) 16:12 & 16:40 Maguro & Carby are boooored! Aka they're tired of this game... 17:07 Tee tries his very best to sound like his english voice actor. 17:37 PiPi activated Morse mode. that, or it became a robot... 18:03 Ess got the mature voice she deserved. I like this one! 18:27 Ai managed to overcome his fears, remaining pretty calm! 18:57 the twins are also slightly calmer than normal. Pretty good! 20:01 Risu-senpai: Smooth Talk Mode, Activated! 20:32 the fishman is still recovering from his alt voice. (It's better without the animations on...) 21:06 & 26:07 Witch & Feli are playing puyo late at night, so they're very quiet. 15:13 Arle does the same, but is very tired and could faint at any moment... (faints after a loss) 21:37 Draco's unable to get angry in any way possible... (aka, her being like Lidelle) 22:05 Zed tried a more human voice, but is also more serious. 23:07 Lemres got the villian voice again... but still got his positive motive. 23:55 and Rulue takes her Queenly voice seriously as well. 24:23 is just Schezo channeling his inner Owain! (or Odin, if you prefer.) 25:16 Ecolo finally calmed down. His alt voice actually would work very good in ringo's story in 20th! 25:43 looks like Ally is getting the gallant voice that Arle & Amitie had in 20th! 26:36 Sata- imean dark prince would surely sound like this if he wasn't the bad guy all the time. 27:02 Ecusu decided to go easy on them. That, or he has low energy... And finally... 27:42 Squares gone super saiyan and is going all out! (I like this one as well) "What about Marly?" her alt voice turns her to a female ecolo, and why would i use that one when the real her is *CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!* (the real marle is the one that appears at 11:06, of course!) As for a bonus, wouldn't it be funny if Lidelle's alt voice made her sound like Sakura (from Fire Emblem) instead of having the mini treatment her classmates got? It would be a nice change!
I think this is one of the instances the voice acting for JP Dub is underplayed, when you compare this to the 20th Anniversary, you can see which Puyo Puyo game had the most dedication
So... to get the highest spell you need to do a 7-chain in Puyo Puyo (As demonstrated here) or a Back-to-Back Tetris/T-Spin Triple in Tetris and a 9 combo in Fusion mode
They (arle and amitie) say "Batankyu"(『バタンキュー』) when they lose. It was used from the Showa era to the early Heisei era (~ around/about 2000. I still use it occasionally though ...) as a word to describe how people are exhausted. (I used Google translator.)
@@Sokonobe It's also used in place of 'Oh No!' on the side of the player who lost the round for the Japanese version, and is also in the Madou Monogatari series, when Arle gets KOed, so the 'exhausted' use makes sense.
@@4GRJ It absolutely sucks. The main one is more meh in terms of voice work compared to PPT1, and the alt overemphasizes THUNDERSTOOOOOORM but lacks that energy for pretty much all the other ones. Absolutely neither of them have anywhere near the same Areiado Special energy at all!
Ringo and Sig sound slightly off while Raffina sounds like she’s aged a bit. Everyone sounds pretty much the same, though some do sound slightly deeper, not by much though.
What's really worse for me is that I had the 3ds version (it's only in Japanese) and I played it a lot so I recognize most of these and I don't even know japanese

@@4GRJ It absolutely sucks. The main one is more meh in terms of voice work compared to PPT1, and the alt overemphasizes THUNDERSTOOOOOORM but lacks that energy for pretty much all the other ones. Absolutely neither of them have anywhere near the same Areiado Special energy at all!

Ringo and Sig sound slightly off while Raffina sounds like she’s aged a bit. Everyone sounds pretty much the same, though some do sound slightly deeper, not by much though.

i miss the fever-15th/7 era spells 🥺
Late comment, but i wish they got new spells, it has been like 5 games with the same spells, whereas the Fever ones were changed after pp7 (3 games)
actually, fever 2 already changed them slightly, puyo 15th changed them again but more, and 7 has the same spells as 15th besides the new characters
It is little disappointing that almost everyone gets more calmed than PPT1 but I like that chain animation is shown in background.

I love Schezo's Japanese Voices. They fit much better than his engish voice imo
