  • Rotary Power’s SMA rotating shaft motor was customised by our engineers to be used in a frac truck application to power the radiator fan. The fan blows cool air to lower the temperature of the fluid as it is pushed through the radiator via a pump.
Hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking or hydrofracking, involves the fracturing of bedrock by a pressurised liquid. This is achieved through the high-pressure injection of fracking fluid (water, containing sand and thickening agents) into a wellbore to create cracks in the bedrock to release previously inaccessible natural gas and oil.
Rotary Power’s SMA motor can satisfy the heaviest duty application using a radial piston/eccentric motor with a hydrostatically balanced rotating assembly. The efficient design includes a hardened high tensile steel crankshaft supported on hydrostatic and taper roller bearings.
The SMA motor can withstand both high mechanical and high hydraulic shock loads offering excellent life and continuous high power use. Speed and power ratings are significantly higher than standard high torque low speed (HTLS) motors.
Rotary Power specialises in the design, development and manufacture of hydraulic pumps and motors. With a history dating back over 50 years’, we understand the exacting and demanding requirements of today’s hydraulic applications. Our years of experience and reputation for quality and innovation have enabled continued company growth.
