That Groot video is the first thing I've ever seen on your channel, it instantly improved my gameplay AND made a tank I thought was boring really fun to play. Hope to see a Wolverine guide soon after Storm. A lot of "low tier" characters seem to just be really misunderstood. Nice vids man

As a magik main here is one you might not know. 9:43 you dont need to wait for the whirl to finish you can start the animation and immediately press E after and you will dash with the whirl and they will hit at the same time also faster! enjoy :D
Another Magik main here. The only mechanical part of this is making sure the VERY generous hitbox of the whirl hits before your body contacts them. If you're too fast and/or too close you can cancel the whirl entirely when the uppercut lands. Hard to do but worth knowing if you're vs. Spiderman or Panther especially. Edit cause I can't spell. xD
@@epsi9923some times it can cause a dash to cancel and recast the whirl so you can get two whirls, but I think it was patched because I could only do it once
I love Melee characters that act like fighting game characters, doing combos and animation cancels makes me feel like I’m pulling off the sickest touch of death.
i think you understand what your offering more than others on this game. over the years i’ve given up on the helping videos for overwatch. they just point out obvious stuff and doesn’t effect anything. what you’ve offers for magic and groot are cool. thanks man
So, having now watched (and loved) the video - here is a tidbit that I have not seen ANYONE mention in a guide on Magik, and I promise I have seen basically all of them on youtube at this point: Magik has two movement speeds. After using any ability or basic attack, Magik will move at a "run" for about seven seconds, after which she will go back to her base "jog". The run isn't crazy, but it is significantly faster than the jog. It also makes her lean in the direction she is moving, which can mess with people trying to use her body to aim her abilities. Very helpful to know to make her spawn rollout quicker!
I thought my brain was playing tricks on me. I had teammates telling me not to waste abilities, but I was certain that using a few immediately after spawn helped in the run back to the fight. And her ability cooldowns are pretty quick, so it’s a net gain all around.
I don't think she moves any faster and its the illusion of the animation that may allude to her moving faster. If she does move faster, its not significant and its a very negligible difference, not enough to make her catch up to any characters that are already faster than her. WIth that said, this is still advice no matter how "small", can make a massive difference.
I noticed this too! It’s actually other characters that do this as well. Not sure if they are actually moving fast or not but it def changes the animation to a “run”
@artic9509 I'm pretty sure it's faster. And I couldve sworn that she was walking slower while swinging for a minute there.... It's possible that attacking brings you back to the walking speed. Could be wrong. I swear I'd test it if shotcut wasn't a POS lol

I've played both Destiny and Overwatch since beta. Your keen eye for the niche and off-meta can take you far in a hero shooter. It's that game knowledge jiu jitsu that you use to overcome challenges that makes your content unique and special. Much appreciated.
magik main here. combo #5 should be combo #1. it's the most important to know since it's your bread and butter one shot any 250-275 hp target. portal -> whirl -> dashing while whirling -> auto -> qiuck melee kills all 250hp targets, adding the slash at the end or at the start for 275 (luna/mantis) is really the only combo you need to "learn" everything else is just...animation canceling.

I’ve heard of her name before but had no idea who she was before Marvel Rivals. After playing her and researching her she’s a new favorite character of mine lore and game wise. Thanks for the breakdown for her👍
Thank you for including the buttons for controller. Every guide that I watch is mouse and keyboard only. This makes it much easier as a console player.
It's also really good at blocking off chokes, at lower elo anyway. If the enemy team has decided to try and push through a corridor or doorway you can just dump a demon off-angle on each side of their exit and force them to either eat damage to get through or stall their push. Disc has such a short cooldown that you can practically spam it.
So far, you’ve picked the two heroes in this game that I believe have better potential when thoroughly understood to write guides about. With a background in Destiny over 8 years, I’m genuinely thankful to have found your channel after you’ve pivoted to guides for Rivals. you can dash portal sword attack too for extra range instead of dash second, you'll get all the mileage and range, and you can also reposition the attack upwards against other enemies

The intro holds so true. I went 30k dmg 45k block on Peni and my team was all praise. In reality it was the entire team, especially supports that provided the great run. I’ve had Peni matches with 10% of that run.

Magik is one of the characters under the seasonal bonus so some combos may require and extra hit from something next season if she doesn’t get any compensation buffs
This guy is really cool.. I honestly think you can genuinely make content about anything and still make it work.. you can make content about ducks and I would still watch it.
I've been maining Magik since launch, and the one thing I'd like to mention is that her dash can go in any direction, even vertically! So if there's an Iron Man or Star Lord flying around you can use this to get up to their level, and land a few hits before falling back down.
A tip as a mediocre magik main that I don’t see people talking about but the soul sword cancels the animation of the ranged slash as well so if you portal spin dash into a slash then soul sword it’s a very reliable 1 shot combo
Magik I definitely one of the most valuable dps if you're good and play her smart. I have her silver armor skin, so this video will definitely help me get better so I can show that off, lol.
The stats on the demon summon are probably the most important thing about this video. Magick is pretty simple, she's really not complicated, but the info about use-case scenarios for her demon, its ability to bypass Strange shields... that's important. That's SUPER important
A few notes about matchups for magik: Her preferable matchups against Sup will be Adam, Luna, Mantis, CD. Jeff, Rocket, and Loki are more difficult, but if you can catch them with their pants down, you can bag the kill. Luna/Mantis are a risky matchup since both can cc and finish you off, if you can dodge their cc you can easily kill them due to their lack of mobility, a key tip when you target them or someone near them is wait till they look at you then use your portal to dodge their cc as they will likely throw it out once they turn to you. Target priority is isolated squishies, then supports, then everything else. Always look to take out the healers.
Left this comment on another video but one huge tech for diving Mantis is to drop a demon as you walk into her, then tank her sleep. The demon will destroy the “image” that the sleep summons and break the sleep early

You should definitely do one on Black Widow. She’s underrated and people are very quick to dismiss her as horrible but I like her, and definitely think she deserves her time to shine!
