Definitely noticing a lot of overlap with Schmitt, and not just in the craft of the engraving. Musically, this feels almost closer to Satie and Les Six than the more impressionistic Schmitt. Also, the 9/8 bar at 5:03 is definitely one of the most outlandish-looking bits of score I've ever seen at first glance.
+Thomas Little Funnily enough this piece is dedicated to Schmitt! I was certainly getting Satie vibes from the beginnng and totally see where you're coming from -- though the start of the forlane sounded like something straight out of a work by Schmitt himself. Just like in Ombres, I love how you get the stems splitting up into both hands!
Last 3 bars of the Prelude are certainly a wink to anyone familiar with Ravel's Forlane =) Almost to say, here comes a Forlane! Other than that, a lot in these pieces make me think of Prokofiev's piano sonatas.
+gabu gabe I'm staying away from her music. Had a video with a preformance by her already taken down (a waltz by Tolstoy). I'm willing to bet her scores were the reason Hexameron was terminated too. Hope you understand that I have to be pretty cautious around more contemporary composers; often it's copyrighted sheet music which gets you strikes (eg olla-vogala and Barber's works; Hexameron and Auerbach; Kapustin and Sorabji etc).
As a performer who played Ferroud's Prelude et Forlane, and who very well knows Le Tombeau de Couperin, when you listen to both, expect for the rhythm, they are nothing alike haha!

+Thomas Little ... and I never before saw an 2+1/2 /4-bar like in 3:25

Could you please upload some Auerbach? And could you reconmend some contemporary piano music like preferable after 1950? thanks :)

+William Huang I think Cmaj 7 has the works of Rautavaara covered on his channel, however infrequent his uploads are.
A little experimental, but a Forlane nonetheless!
A mad experiment! Quite exquisite if you ask me!
the first is such a clear rip off of ravels forlane
How so?
