Bottom line is that it will cost whatever it costs, and it will worth every baht to have Rungtiwa as your wife, her parents happy and all the guests going away having had a great time. My best wishes to both of you for a fantastic day and a happy life ❤❤
I paid about $10,000 oz in 2016, plus a very small sinsod. I actually gave half the gift money to her mum because of the lack of pressure she put on me regarding sinsod and the rest l let my wife keep as l didn't need the money. The wedding was great as was the pre wedding photo day. The street closed off, a band on a truck and what seemed like the whole village in attendance at some point.
Ya'all need to tell ricky that additionally to the 250k for the wedding, there is a Sinsod due for Rungtiwas parents. Shes never been married, no kids and the only child.... easily need to whip up 500k-1mil on that golden tablet with the yasmin flowers that you need to hand over to the parents during the ceremony. :D
Have a great day Ricky. Are you paying her family a dowry or Sin Sod as is the custom? From a Farang, anything less than 100k would appear a bit stingy. 25 years ago my soon to be wife and I were skint so no big wedding just a registry one in Bangkok with a volunteer witness followed by a few drinks with some mates. But we still celebrate everyday together :)
Yeah I agree it's probably a good idea to give something* ... even if they give it back to you afterwards, otherwise too much gossip/etc from villiagers.
@RickyIsaan yes there is some ways around it but it has to be within a solid structure or an approved place. Tbf our weather doesn't make good outdoor weddings 😂
Looking forward for your wedding Ricky & Rungtiwa it’s going to be absolutely Beautiful !!!! Going to be a very proud moment for myself !! Moo Ka Ta is definitely a favourite dish !!! …………………..🌼🌸❤️…………………
So glad I married my wife in a Bangkok office registry place :) (yeah I guess I'm a bad guy lol) , but I can't handle all of that stuff and we had zero money at the time.
I got married at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. 1985. I think it cost me AUD $50. Then she arrived in Australia on a permanent visa. Likewise no money and a son only 3 months old and on his Thai birth certificate it says, Not Thai Citizen. I guess things have changed since.
nah,its possible he'll make a profit ,break square at worst, not that thats the intention but 350 gifting adult guests will help sufficiently with their outlay
Hi it's going to be beautiful can't wait to see it and see the beautiful little girls in there dress it's going to be amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Around 500k for me in 2022 - I'll try and dig out more details later but I think I may be including some things you are not and you are doing some things yourselves. Good luck!
Quite simply your wedding costs as much as you allow it to or as much as you want to please the relatives. . Same rule all over the world. It costs what is costs and you just enjoy. Dont going imagining how many scooters you can buy for 200k thb. .
250000 bath is not much. 20 Year ago our wedding was over 1mil. But ok we rented a revue in Bangkok. Not want disturb neighbors with blocking roads. But think rural it much more cheaper and relaxer with neighbors 😅😅😅😅😅
Ricky our wedding was that long ago now, 36 years ago we both can’t even remember the cost mate. But your cost is not on the high side, that’s for sure. Should be an awesome turnout.
Gday Rick - it sounds like everything is going well & RT is doing an amazing job , perhaps the number of people dictate a lot of the costs & those 30 Farangs 🤩😳 - 👋✔️👍🙏
Most thai only gift 100 baht dud in an envelope a few will put more in envelope..my cheap Charlie weding including mums dowry was 100.000 baht.breakdown mum got 25.000 baht 75.000 party including monk's payment
Ricky how it works you will probably get about 500 baht and above from your friends and family because they are family and stuff but when it comes to locals and that the envelopes will be as little as 100 baht sometimes 50 baht the locals don’t pay same as your family and friends be great if they did mate I’ve been many Thai weddings over 24 years and this is definitely how it works 👍
@ oh yeh I was just thinking there that weddings were a while back maybe a bit different these days also probably more in that envelopes it’s the same when I built my house there is a gathering when they walk round it few times blessing it you probably know of that then they give you the white envelopes again they just give what they can but it sure helps that’s for sure hey mate I can’t wait for the big day it’s going be awesome vids Take.care Ricky 👍
Hey Ricky We only had a small wedding of 120 people. Cost was 100,000baht. Best day of my life. Just in front of the Bunnies winning the 2014 premiership 😂😂 🇦🇺🇦🇺
@margcarrangis4809 yes, already told them. Obviously her father passed away in January, but Uncle Art & Aunt Fon are coming i believe and will be a great help with the twins
200,000 bht for 400 guests sounds there abouts,whats that include alcohol,MC,musician/s etc ? 350 adult guests gifting 500 - 1000bht each u recoup your outlay plus some, n 50 minors aged 18 n under who'll be eating n drinking for free😂
You’re lucky to be so involved Ricky. Her parents must be lovely. It must be difficult for them her being the only child and marrying a farang with 2 kids. I think you’ve hit the jackpot. I’m quite involved with Thai culture here in Australia. I adopted 2 kids from Thailand have been there several times. One of them came from Nakhon Rajastima the other Bangkok. They both live in Melbourne both professionals and doing well
Our ended up coming in at about B350,000 as it does all add up. Well worth it though. We had enough after the gifts to buy our current Honda. All of the village came and all had a great time. I am sure Yours will be just as good :)
makes no sense why this thai girl , wants a farang with 2 kids by another thai girl , she has no kids herself and a only daughter , I can't see how her family would allow such a relationship , she has options these days esp with online dating , with the amount of farang looking to get a thai bride she had better options simply facts , very surprised they are allowing it , then yet again being from Isaan mayb she was that desperate to find a farang guy that she went for him , regardless of his situation , any other normal thai family would have not allowed such a mistake simp facts ..

I will discuss this in another video. But well aware of this custom, even if it's only down for show today in modern Thailand 🇹🇭

I will discuss this in another video but it's all planned and sorted of course
The big day is in sight, mate! Sure it will be fine, Rick, and just run with whatever proceedings are happening at the time.
Love the idea of an outside wedding. In the uk we have to have weddings indoors by law
Really? By law? That's odd. My dad's wedding in Australia was outside. I've never been to a fully indoors wedding in Thailand
@RickyIsaan yes there is some ways around it but it has to be within a solid structure or an approved place.
Tbf our weather doesn't make good outdoor weddings 😂
Can't wait to see your wedding, Ricky. So happy for you both❤❤
Thanks, we're both super excited about it!

Wow, 400 people? So basically the whole village+ will be there. You'll be eating just rice for the next year. 😂. Weddings are so overpriced to me.
Yeah, weddings here are a big deal! Should be great though 👍
Your phone is fixed! Happy almost wedding🇺🇸

Only 2 Honda PCXs, not too bad

What a good idea.
Soi Rainbow . Ring the bells.
Ricky our wedding was that long ago now, 36 years ago we both can’t even remember the cost mate. But your cost is not on the high side, that’s for sure. Should be an awesome turnout.
Looking forward to it Robert, could definitely skyrocket alot higher
Gday Rick - it sounds like everything is going well & RT is doing an amazing job , perhaps the number of people dictate a lot of the costs & those 30 Farangs 🤩😳 - 👋✔️👍🙏
Those 30 farangs eat too much 😆

We aren't doing or inviting the monks. So that's one less cost for us, as we both aren't religious

You're right but varies area to areas and that's the projections they have here. But regardless it'll cover the costs and more for the parent in laws
@ oh yeh I was just thinking there that weddings were a while back maybe a bit different these days also probably more in that envelopes it’s the same when I built my house there is a gathering when they walk round it few times blessing it you probably know of that then they give you the white envelopes again they just give what they can but it sure helps that’s for sure hey mate I can’t wait for the big day it’s going be awesome vids

🇦🇺🇦🇺
Sounds like a great day mate. I watched the 2014 flag mate
The wedding was the easy and cheap bit! Wait till the numbers fly at you for the divorce! Been there and done that! --Never again!
You never ever know - but why live with such a negative mindset. It's like saying we're all going to die one day 🙃
A Las Vegas wedding would be cheaper 😅
😆 🤣 cost more to get there mate, would've been good during the F1 GP
What is the dowry you are to pay?
It's not really a thing anymore in modern day Thailand. But the tradition more gets followed just for show. I'll discuss that in another video Tony
The food looked delicious ❤
Thai food is the best! 😋
Beautiful countryside
Very beautiful
u have happines all life all new family all life💕⚘️

Thank you, we're looking forward to it too 🙏 💕
500 people I wouldn't be complaining cut it down to 300😂
Lots of eyes on me doing the walk up the soi
That is a good price for a wedding Aussie dollar.
I think so too, but I'd be happy to hear what other farangs had for a price
I’m still standing by my mailbox mate for the invitation
You're welcome to come all the way from the Gold Coast if you're free mate 👍
@ what’s the dates
@Matt-ee3qg Jan 5

Are you inviting Eid’s parents?
@margcarrangis4809 yes, already told them. Obviously her father passed away in January, but Uncle Art & Aunt Fon are coming i believe and will be a great help with the twins
@@RickyIsaan that’s so nice

Stuffed007, always an expert on relationships in Thailand. Isan Drew and Ryan agree 😆 🤣
@stuffed: Most normal people would keep those negative thoughts to themselves. It is a reflection on you only. Stuffed by name, stuffed by nature. 👎
@@Vinnie101a he's been at it for years. Must live a sad lonely life
It's happening 😂😂😂😂
What's your point?
