I can't believe that TV channels advertising on other channels bamboozles you still? :D I guess it's because all these channels had to comply with standards set up by Sky and/or the Cable companies and On Digital (which is how I was able to record these adverts etc. which is why there are minor glitches with the sound and picture) which allowed to do these. At least during the main ad breaks. I suppose it helped to keep people using these satellite/cable/pay TV through an aerial services, which nowadays, you don't see too much of, as everyone can practically get most of these channels for free now. Still, It's nice seeing these and other ads. The quality on the Cartoon Network ads were very good animation wise, and they even had the voice cast reprise their roles from the shows, that's most likely due to them perhaps being recycled from American ones. :) Thanks again as always. :) 'Cringes at the Sky One announcer for his pronunciation of 'Pokemon'. :D

Not so much bamboozled, it just, you know, feels a bit weird. That said, like you, I'm always impressed at the lengths Cartoon Network used to go to when promoting themselves in this era - they really pulled out all the stops. One of the best lessons in building brand identity, I'd say.
      --------
Sky One announcer: "Pokemon"? What's that?
Producer behind the glass: It's short for "Pocket Monsters".
Sky One announcer: "Pocky-monn" it is.

@@VideotapeFTW Yeah that scenario you described, pretty much sums up that Sky One promo. :D Though Pokemon has nothing to do with a Japanese chocolate stick snack brand called 'Pocky'. :D It might also be due to the fact that they are kids channels, perhaps there was some ruling that allowed them to advertise on each other's channels to help diversify viewing figures perhaps?

@@David315842 I think anyone's _allowed_ to advertise themselves on a different channel, but the question remains of why anyone would agree to carry an ad for a direct rival. Then again, if you're not scared of the competition and the money's right...

@@VideotapeFTW The other channels were likely not seen as rivals per say, but seen as an extension of their channel packages. Cartoon Network for example is a Warner channel and to be broadcasted here in the UK, Warner would have had to comply with rules set up by Sky, NTL, Telewest, On Digital etc. back in the day and come to think of it, they still have to adhere to regulations set by these services, or their channels wouldn't be broadcasted. That may be why some channels are only available on satellite and others were cable exclusive.

@@David315842 I suppose I can see an incentive for Sky One to advertise different channels that the Sky platform carries. I'm sure one of your videos had Nickelodeon advertising on The Children's Channel or something, though, which makes less sense (to me, at least).
