Can you make an updated video on your planning process and how you develop (or find) materials for your class! I'm currently student teaching and I would love to see a different planning routine than what I am seeing!
Start a story and pick one kid and they add on but all the kids heads are down and they have to guess what the story is about and guess the person i play this with my class and they love it
We do Simon Says with vocabulary. Group them and have them create an action for the word. Teach the rest of the class. Call the definition and they do the action for Simon Says. Or fly swatter vocabulary. Print 2 sets of vocabulary cards and post them on the board. Put them in 2 teams. Call a vocab definition and they swat the word.
I appreciate you sharing your reflective teaching practices with us!I do something similar with vocab but I pair students in groups of 2, and put a picture of the word on the board. 1 student looks at the board and the other looks away, the students looking at the board has to describe the word and the other has to guess, they really enjoy it!
If you would like, you could send home a copy of 1 science and 1 history book for the kiddos to read. They could write a reflection paragraph and share that with their peers during centers. This could lead into a student lead activity that can occur at least twice a week. Or if possible you could give the children the responsibility of looking at and reviewing their vocabulary words at home with parents, and turn that center into a student lead center. You may have to do small check ins with the class like Kahoot to see if they are putting in the work at home to learn their vocabulary words, but this way they gain a little more responsibility! Hope this helps a little bit!!
I teach 7th grade ela and I got this from tiktok. But any terms they need to know I print them large on a piece of paper and we play heads up. They LOVE making me guess and I also throw in fun words like ice cream or monkey. Works great!!
Thank you so much for all of your insight and videos! I am about to start a teaching position in 3rd grade math & science mid year and your videos have helped me prepare for the next few months!
I use the tpt bundle “rooted in reading” my 3rd graders like it! It includes a lot of things for them to do hands on and it takes away alot of the teacher talk!
What’s the best grade to teach?? I have to soon decide what grade I want my practicum then student teaching in and I have no idea what I wanna do! I think I like younger grades like kindergarten through second and maybe third! But I’ve heard kindergarten can be a lot so how did you decide? 💗

Okay Bailey, lots of questions 🤣 Do your students do all 4 centers every day? Do they rotate tables and you leave all the work at the table or do they stay at their table and you pass out each center before starting? How long do they have at each center?
We do 3 rounds of centers a day. So they don’t get to every center every day. I have a word work folder where I store their work for that and I’ll just put that out on a table when they start and they usually do that with their group at my extra table in the back of the room. Read to self they only need their chromebooks so no materials there! They usually sit on the front carpet for that center. And iready is on their chromebooks too at their seat!
Dang your day starts early! My school is a late start school in WA teachers start at 8:25 and kids start at 9:10!
your voice is so soothing
Look into Kagan strategies

Does your sign say “kind is cool”? It’s super cute! Where is it from?
Is your school providing you with the science and social studies books that your students must read and AR quiz on during Read- to-Self time?
