I am in year 7 and I hate the school I am at, most days I come home crying because i found it really hard where I am. It's started to get bigger than me and I feel if nothing is going to change things will start happening, things my parents dont like. I've talked about it to my parents but they won't do anything, they won't switch schools. At the moment I am getting advice from another student there but nothing is helping, what should I do
I was in the exact same situation, it gets better. Well you get used to it. Since school is almost over, I’m gonna use summer to convince my mom to let me change schools.🤷🏽♀️
1st half of the story is the same for me and I am hoping this private school that my friend goes to has some scholarships left and so my mum is trying to get me to be able to take the test I feel bad for my friends that I liked but I just want to move, at least I will have my friend’s phone numbers so yeah If I do switch I should have my friend and might be able to make a few more friends.

I have one term left at the school I'm currently at, and I've been at this school since before I was three. I am so nervous not only about making new friends, but also doing well in my next school, and being able to move on from this school. Because I've been there almost my entire life, it has enormous sentimental value to me, and I've known all the teachers and the students for so long I feel like it's going to be so difficult to make such a big transition.

ALWAYS do whats best for your mental health, dropping down from a grammar school is a good move if it means you will be in a happier environment because if you're happy you'll put the work in! i hope you made your choice and you're happy with it because i see its been 4 months :) x

I hate my teacher, she’s Arrogant,rude, and expects us to get a lot of work done easily.The cafeteria is basically serving toxic waste.The art teacher overreacts.Our teacher basically takes forever to grade things,so it makes it hard to get honor roll.The Japanese’s teacher room smells horrible.The kids are weird and disgusting.My friend spends all his time with his girlfriend,he didn’t see me change when I got one.It is really stressful and they sometimes blame us instead of kindergarten who caused that mess.The school I want to go to has my friends,nice teachers,and doesn’t assign so much work.

I’m in year 10 and I just feel really rubbish in my current school but the problem is 1. I have started my GCSEs and 2. My mother isn't taking me seriously but Im writing something to convince her, is this good enough? | | | V Dear mum, Bullies suck. I'm not too affected but I'm sick of them and seeing them upset other people. There will be less at Ron Dearing, obviously, they'll still exist because we can't just put everyone into a perfectly uniform box, but if you want to be a bully, you won't go through the hassle of going to a college where people are trying to excel, just to flop. Also, to be taking that initiative at fourteen years old means they are all hopefully a little more mature than people in my secondary school. Also, the uniform is better, a polo shirt and trousers with their logo, and optionally a hoodie. I also have HSD which means writing for too long hurts my (little wittle) fingers, but getting a school laptop would be too much work and a fight. From what I can tell at Ron Dearing you can take your own laptop in for some classes that require it, which already will bridge half of the step of asking for it in all classes to same my hands. Work experience is also better as they are partnered with Smith & Nephew and some other places, (I could do work experience making PLASTERS/BAND-AIDS, there's no limit, I swear to god.) Whereas my current school actually cut funding and aren't doing ANY work experience AT ALL! I don't want to slag them off, but they're really being outshone by Ron Dearing here. I currently get driven to school by a neighbour with kids in my year and form room, it's a no-brainer to carpool, but I'd be willing to take a bus with Jamie or just get the grips of the bus before leaving Jamie to himself and not being that little young tag-along. (He is moving there a year before I might, as you have to be 14, I will be 14 before year nine starts but I still want to wait until year ten when I am fifteen as I was born two hours after the cut off point, going this year would only put me in all of the bottom sets due to having 'missed out' that year nine.) so im in 3rd form, and I'm planning on moving to a new school for 4th form because I've been miserable at my current school all year and I've always been terrified of meeting new people but i know my best chance at being happy is starting this new school in september. My best friend goes to this school and we've known each other for like 12 years so its not like i have nobody and i know her friends too but in that school the chance of me ending up in her class are really slim and i feel like if i had form class on my own on the first die i would probably die. However, we would be in GCSE classes and my best friend and i are doing a few similar subjects so i would have her in those classes but the thought of being alone the first few weeks is so scary and that sucks because i know once i get used to it i would love it there likely. My mum is really on board with the idea but my dad says he won't allow it to happen and says he won't let me go, does anyone have any advice? i need to show my dad this is what's best for my mental health i should go there. Thing is, i had do work really hard to get into my current school because its one of the best in the country and this other school isn't as hard to get into and even though people from that school achieve the same grades as my school, my dad is stuck on the fact i get good grades and he thinks that might change if i moves which i know won't because lots of people in my school do badly however i have always worked hard and so my grades aren't down to my school they are down to me. can anyone give me some advice? grammar schools are good, but generally they aren't always better. i go to one of the top grammar schools in my country and people still do bad if they don't work hard, I'm actually hoping to move schools to a different school, its still a grammar school but its not as good as my current one

You don't need to be popular, just try to make some friends and you'll be good. If anyone bothers you don't be scared to speak up about it and tell an adult immediately.

I really want to switch school so bad, I've been in my current school for 5 years and I have hated every single year of it. Before I got in I took an entrance exam and I desperately failed it just so my mom won't be able to get me in BUT the school took me in even with a failed entrance test. I wanted to get the hell out of that school ever since I moved there in year 5, I always told my mom please just bring me back to my old school because I absolutely hate the school but she just tells me "No you're stupid! You're in one of the best schools in our city, learn to appreciate it!", the people weren't even that nice, the cafeteria lady was RUDE, the admins are absolutely problematic and makes up stupid rumors, if a teacher hates you just because you exist no matter how good you are in class they'll give you a low grade, and an admin would literally humiliate any student in the hallway in front of a lot of students just because of our hair/jackets! Now with the pandemic going on we are forced to have classes online and I am trying to convince my mom to finally switch me schools because my school is charging too much for classes that are conducted in Google Classroom but my Mom still tells me I'm stupid because I'm already in a good school and the prices are fair (Which is NOT, the prices BARELY WENT DOWN and is ridiculously HIGH). I just want to finally switch schools because I hate my school (that my mom forced me into), I hate a lot of people in that school, and I just want a fresh start with nice and real people not rude and problematic ones. And the school isn't that nice either, they don't allow us to bring our phones, the washrooms has no water 99% of the time, expensive snacks (twice the price of the ones in supermarkets), and a lot of pretty rude teachers (a lot of the teachers are nice and really cool people, but a lot of the teachers are straight up rude and are total dicks)

i actually have the same experience as you had, my old school gave of a really bad reputation to actually all the schools in my area so transferring from that school to my other is probably gonna be really scary for the first weeks and the school is also much much bigger then my old school. sorry if this reply is too late, but here's some advice (I hope it helps), maybe you can tell your parents that you are super happy at your current school and that it would be really bad for you if you moved, tell them that you enjoy going to your current school and that you know you will be upset and anxious if you have to move. I moved schools this year and I hate it. I hate it so much I want to go back to my old school. My friends are in my old school and I makes me so sad. My parents spent money on the uniform already but I wish I stayed at my old school. If it wasn't form my brother I would still be at my old school. It's all his stupid fault. I sometimes feel like crying because I feel like an idiot that has no friends in my own class. I want to move back to my old school in the future but my parents say no. No matter what I say they will always say no They don't like my old school because of the teachers and stuff but I feel much more happier in my old school. It's not fair. I feel like crying each day I go to school. The thing I mostly hate is how we have to do surveys sometimes to see how we are going and I hate how they always put that one question, "Do you feel ok at school?" I hate it so much. I hate how I always have to lie and just reply "Yes" when in reality I feel so horrible. I wish my parents didn't move me to that stupid school. There's more mean people there and more people that just judge you for whatever small thing you do. I wish my parents would let me move back but for now, I have to spend 5 years dealing with this. I just wish things were back to how it used to be. I would be so much happier.

I just found out that I probably might be changing schools. I really don't want to, not trying to sound like a brat or anything. I was in a school for seven years and it was my first. I was only in grade 5 then, and had switched from an American school to British. So it was pretty confusing at first. I had such bad anxiety it hurst to think back. It was my first time moving schools and I was mortified, my parents wouldn't care to listen, and thought they had full control of my life. But surprisingly, I'm really happy where I am right now. I just found out there is a 70% chance of me changing schools. My siblings are going to that same school but it'll be harder for me since I'm going to year 8. I really want to stay in the school I am, the main reasons are because in my previous schools thought I would still be having contact with my other friends, but I don't at all. We've completely forgotten each other and it's sad. But there's something bigger about my friends here. I don't want to just let go of them and move on. Secondly, I don't want to have to go through anxiety again. It really sucks, even though I've only been in my school for less than 2 years. I hate the feeling of having depression. I hate the feeling of feeling alone. I tried convincing my parents but as usual, they wouldn't listen. Even though I have Feb till June, I'm so worried. I don't know what to do or say to my parents as my siblings are completely fine with moving. But they are younger, and I personally think it's harder when older. Any advice?
thats a really crap situation, just remind yourself everything happens for a reason and although the start may be hard, you will end up so glad you moved and you won't be able to imagine going back, try not to stress and see the opportunity in the situation. I know its really hard but it will all be ok in the end!

I am in year 7 and I hate the school I am at, most days I come home crying because i found it really hard where I am. 1st half of the story is the same for me and I am hoping this private school that my friend goes to has some scholarships left and so my mum is trying to get me to be able to take the test I feel bad for my friends that I liked but I just want to move, at least I will have my friend’s phone numbers so yeah If I do switch I should have my friend and might be able to make a few more friends.

I have one term left at the school I'm currently at, and I've been at this school since before I was three. I am so nervous not only about making new friends, but also doing well in my next school, and being able to move on from this school. Because I've been there almost my entire life, it has enormous sentimental value to me, and I've known all the teachers and the students for so long I feel like it's going to be so difficult to make such a big transition.

ALWAYS do whats best for your mental health, dropping down from a grammar school is a good move if it means you will be in a happier environment because if you're happy you'll put the work in! i hope you made your choice and you're happy with it because i see its been 4 months :) x

I hate my teacher, she’s Arrogant,rude, and expects us to get a lot of work done easily.The cafeteria is basically serving toxic waste.The art teacher overreacts.Our teacher basically takes forever to grade things,so it makes it hard to get honor roll.The Japanese’s teacher room smells horrible.The kids are weird and disgusting.My friend spends all his time with his girlfriend,he didn’t see me change when I got one.It is really stressful and they sometimes blame us instead of kindergarten who caused that mess.The school I want to go to has my friends,nice teachers,and doesn’t assign so much work.

Dear mum,
Bullies suck. I'm not too affected but I'm sick of them and seeing them upset other people. There will be less at Ron Dearing, obviously, they'll still exist because we can't just put everyone into a perfectly uniform box, but if you want to be a bully, you won't go through the hassle of going to a college where people are trying to excel, just to flop. Also, to be taking that initiative at fourteen years old means they are all hopefully a little more mature than people in my secondary school. Also, the uniform is better, a polo shirt and trousers with their logo, and optionally a hoodie.
I also have HSD which means writing for too long hurts my (little wittle) fingers, but getting a school laptop would be too much work and a fight. From what I can tell at Ron Dearing you can take your own laptop in for some classes that require it, which already will bridge half of the step of asking for it in all classes to same my hands. Work experience is also better as they are partnered with Smith & Nephew and some other places, (I could do work experience making PLASTERS/BAND-AIDS, there's no limit, I swear to god.) Whereas my current school actually cut funding and aren't doing ANY work experience AT ALL!
I don't want to slag them off, but they're really being outshone by Ron Dearing here. I currently get driven to school by a neighbour with kids in my year and form room, it's a no-brainer to carpool, but I'd be willing to take a bus with Jamie or just get the grips of the bus before leaving Jamie to himself and not being that little young tag-along. (He is moving there a year before I might, as you have to be 14, I will be 14 before year nine starts but I still want to wait until year ten when I am fifteen as I was born two hours after the cut off point, going this year would only put me in all of the bottom sets due to having 'missed out' that year nine.)

I know this video was posted a little while ago but it has helped me so much! I am in such a similar situation right now, I used to go to a small Anglican school in my city that was very strict about a lot of stuff, I spent year 7 and 8 there. Loads of sketchy stuff happened there in the last few months so I am moving to the public school near my house for year 9. The school that I am moving to has a pretty good reputation so I am quite exited to start there in a few days!

Thing is, i had do work really hard to get into my current school because its one of the best in the country and this other school isn't as hard to get into and even though people from that school achieve the same grades as my school, my dad is stuck on the fact i get good grades and he thinks that might change if i moves which i know won't because lots of people in my school do badly however i have always worked hard and so my grades aren't down to my school they are down to me. can anyone give me some advice? grammar schools are good, but generally they aren't always better. i go to one of the top grammar schools in my country and people still do bad if they don't work hard, I'm actually hoping to move schools to a different school, its still a grammar school but its not as good as my current one

You don't need to be popular, just try to make some friends and you'll be good. If anyone bothers you don't be scared to speak up about it and tell an adult immediately.

I really want to switch school so bad, I've been in my current school for 5 years and I have hated every single year of it. Before I got in I took an entrance exam and I desperately failed it just so my mom won't be able to get me in BUT the school took me in even with a failed entrance test. I wanted to get the hell out of that school ever since I moved there in year 5, I always told my mom please just bring me back to my old school because I absolutely hate the school but she just tells me "No you're stupid! You're in one of the best schools in our city, learn to appreciate it!", the people weren't even that nice, the cafeteria lady was RUDE, the admins are absolutely problematic and makes up stupid rumors, if a teacher hates you just because you exist no matter how good you are in class they'll give you a low grade, and an admin would literally humiliate any student in the hallway in front of a lot of students just because of our hair/jackets! Now with the pandemic going on we are forced to have classes online and I am trying to convince my mom to finally switch me schools because my school is charging too much for classes that are conducted in Google Classroom but my Mom still tells me I'm stupid because I'm already in a good school and the prices are fair (Which is NOT, the prices BARELY WENT DOWN and is ridiculously HIGH). I just want to finally switch schools because I hate my school (that my mom forced me into), I hate a lot of people in that school, and I just want a fresh start with nice and real people not rude and problematic ones. And the school isn't that nice either, they don't allow us to bring our phones, the washrooms has no water 99% of the time, expensive snacks (twice the price of the ones in supermarkets), and a lot of pretty rude teachers (a lot of the teachers are nice and really cool people, but a lot of the teachers are straight up rude and are total dicks)

i actually have the same experience as you had, my old school gave of a really bad reputation to actually all the schools in my area so transferring from that school to my other is probably gonna be really scary for the first weeks and the school is also much much bigger then my old school. sorry if this reply is too late, but here's some advice (I hope it helps), maybe you can tell your parents that you are super happy at your current school and that it would be really bad for you if you moved, tell them that you enjoy going to your current school and that you know you will be upset and anxious if you have to move. I’m thinking of moving to a much bigger school about 15 minutes away like you my other friend is moving from his school to mine but I don’t know if I should do it because I’m scared I won’t fit in or like it

I would move back to my old school i miss all my public school laid back friends my new private school ive had trouble making friends. At my old school it was awesome except for the bullys thats why i switched schools but my mom already enrolled me for next year at an expensive school (the same one) ugh i just wanna be with my real friends
I just found out that I probably might be changing schools. I really don't want to, not trying to sound like a brat or anything. I was in a school for seven years and it was my first. I was only in grade 5 then, and had switched from an American school to British. So it was pretty confusing at first. I had such bad anxiety it hurst to think back. It was my first time moving schools and I was mortified, my parents wouldn't care to listen, and thought they had full control of my life. But surprisingly, I'm really happy where I am right now. I just found out there is a 70% chance of me changing schools. My siblings are going to that same school but it'll be harder for me since I'm going to year 8. I really want to stay in the school I am, the main reasons are because in my previous schools thought I would still be having contact with my other friends, but I don't at all. We've completely forgotten each other and it's sad. But there's something bigger about my friends here. I don't want to just let go of them and move on. Secondly, I don't want to have to go through anxiety again. It really sucks, even though I've only been in my school for less than 2 years. I hate the feeling of having depression. I hate the feeling of feeling alone. I tried convincing my parents but as usual, they wouldn't listen. Even though I have Feb till June, I'm so worried. I don't know what to do or say to my parents as my siblings are completely fine with moving. But they are younger, and I personally think it's harder when older. Any advice?
thats a really crap situation, just remind yourself everything happens for a reason and although the start may be hard, you will end up so glad you moved and you won't be able to imagine going back, try not to stress and see the opportunity in the situation. I know its really hard but it will all be ok in the end!
I go to this school where the work is hard and my parents hate their grading system but I have the best friends ever and she wants me to move to another school ( I wanted to move a year or 2 before so I didnt have to worry about leaving friends) but since im in year 10 now she wants me to move and its only like 10 mins away from my current school but I know that its a shit school and they have drugs and sex 'n' shit but my mum really wants me to move and I dont know what to do ( I would move there for year 11 & 12) sruggeling need help please???
I’m considering moving schools but I don’t know if I want to. I’m in year 8 now and my school is 45 mins away on the bus and I have long days, getting up at 7 and getting home at 5. This school is really nice though. They have dogs, and nice staff, but I don’t really have any friends there. There is a school that is within walking distance to me and I have a friend moving in to year 7 there too. I love the idea of having local friends and shorter days, but I’m not sure how difficult it will be...any advice?
once this while quarantine thing is over, I’m moving. To a completely different place 2 hours away I know no one there, it’s massive, I’m never going back to my other school and I’m starting in year 9. I don’t remember how to make friends Cos I knew people in year 7 but now I’ve got to start over and Idk what to do 😂😅

I started secondary a few months ago (year 7) and I liked it at start but I’m just not happy there, nothing is bad there is was just boring and it made me so unhappy and I told my mum and she said I picked it so I had to stay there.
