I was there. Born and raised in KC, this was and still is the greatest MLB game I've ever witnessed. Every moment past the 7th inning was gut-wrenching.
Invited last minute by my cousin who had an extra ticket because his brother had to go out of town on business. BEST sporting event I've ever attended. BTW, this game was played on September 30, 2014 not October 1, 2014.
Social distancing entertainment. I’ve always wanted to rewatch this game. I’ve been a lifelong Royals fan and this was the sweetest game they ever played. Up until then, it was George Brett’s massive home run off Goose Gossage. I still can’t stand the Yankee’s.
This might be the greatest non World Series game I ever saw. Definitely in the conversation. Watched it lived on TBS. This begun the KC run to the Series.
Best postseason game I have ever seen. Just got done rewatching it. So crazy to think back to how flawlessly the Royals could swipe bags at that time. Forever Royal!
The Royals had a great team, the Pirates did too in 2013-15. The difference was that the Royals never gave up and kept going until they won the World Series. The Pirates were happy to just have one wild card game win. They then choked against Wacha, Wainwright, Bumgarner and Arrieta. They never seemed to try after the 2013 Wild Card Game.
Idk if you can say anybody who lost a game to Bumgarner choked. That dude was stupid good this postseason. They may have choked the series as whole but they could have played the game of their life and lost that night
Brandon Finnegan really wasted a great opportunity to play for the Royals right away. Later that offseason he would show up overweight and eat himself out of baseball within two years. What a shame.
Billy butler and his bad base running almost won them the game. If he haven’t wondered then Soto would stay in and without the thumb injury and they might not have stolen all the bases. But they still lost tot the Giants. GO GIANTS!!
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
Say what you want about Stephen A Smith, but he got it right when he said this was one of the most exciting games he'd ever seen.
I never tire of watching this game, one of the greatest games of all time, if you're a Royals fan. LOL
Fr ive watched this maybe 20 times over the years
I am
Oakland be like worst game ever

I saw this live. Phenomenal. What I remember most is the Royal's rally off of Lester and the A's bullpen.

As an A's fan, I have to respect this game. The KC players and fans were great. Oh, and we do have that Yankees thing in common :)
I’m a Twins fan but I watched this game live on tv and it was one of the most entertaining and fun games I’d ever watched
I was at this game. It was my 2nd epic KC sports experience in 10 months. I was at the MLS Cup when Sporting won.
Either can I that's why I call them the Clankys
Being in the stadium that night was straight euphoria. Random kisses and hugs from strangers lol so awsome
Here I am back at this game for what feels like the millionth time
Never. Take. This. Down.
I had to come back and watch this after the Chiefs unbelievable win against the Bills tonight. It was almost as good as this game.
I am the luckiest 17 year old on planet earth right now!! I was at the the wild card game in 2014 and the bills game tonight. So blessed.
@@scottfranciskato9595 You are indeed the luckiest person in Kansas City!
I was at this Royals game.
I think the Chiefs-Bills game was much better, albeit as a huge Orioles fan, I do have bias against this Royals team
I've never heard that stadium so loud in my life
Didn't even know this was on RUclips until today lol. Not a fan of either team but what a game 👀
7 years ago today. Good God time passes

Not a SINGLE dinger was involved in KC’s amazing comeback.

Lester never throwing to first KILLLED us...lol
@@nickhorn8296 Jed Lowrie and Norris killed the A's
I was there when it happened, I was about 7 or 8 at the time, and I may have slept through the later innings but I cheered when I was awake at least
Saw this live. I stopped watching baseball after the Sammy Sosa days but this game brought back out the Sandlot kid in me.
Best Baseball game ever let’s be real
I took one for the team. I must have been bad luck. I left when they were down by a lot late. Heard the victory on my way home.
Charles Antill my sister fell asleep in the 7th and the we left in the middle of the 8th
One of nine winner-take-all postseason losses in the Billy Beane era Oakland A's.
and one of fifteen loses in closeout games in the beane era
Crazy comeback. Nothing like waiting until the last six outs of the season.......
Kauffman was electric that night
What a Amazing game
4:52:56 Walk off win
Wow! A's-Royals!!! This was a barn burner!!!
Dyson.A player who is more memorable than the records.
Man, those 2014-2015 teams were easy to like. It was baseball like we all grew up being taught to play: play defense, make contact, and hustle.
Yeah. Nowadays its who can launch bombs farther
Epic. I couldn’t watch the past the 8th inning, it was too much, epic run
7 years ago right now this was happening 😭😭😭😭

THAT TRADE DESTROYED AND TOOK AWAY ANY FEAR ,RESPECT THAT OTHER TEAMS HAD TO RECOGNIZEE TOTALLY KILLED THE THREATWE HAD COMMANDED
I still get ptsd watching this
Who’s here after hearing that the A’s are moving to Las Vegas? It’s just sad seeing what the organization is actually like.
What a fantastic game. What I love most is KC scored 9 runs and didn't hit a single home run. Maybe my Cubs should take notes.
Brandon Finnegan really wasted a great opportunity to play for the Royals right away. Later that offseason he would show up overweight and eat himself out of baseball within two years. What a shame.
Man, now pitchers and batters can't waste time like this anymore
PAIN
Once a generation the royals pop up and win a World Series, every 30 years or so… so it’ll be 1945 before they get the next one and i’ll be 62….
