The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, also known as Pindi Cricket Stadium (PCS), was built in 1992, and its construction was funded by the government of Punjab. It underwent significant renovations in 1996, and it was finally inaugurated as an international cricket stadium in 1998.
In Addition, the ground has hosted a number of international cricket matches, including test matches, one-day internationals, and T20 matches. The first test match was played here between Pakistan and Zimbabwe in 1993, and the first one-day international was played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in 1997.
