  • For the first time, 100 performers came together and danced to celebrated the folk festival with our famous traditional Dhime tune.
How rich we are with our culture and tradition. Such a proud moment to be called as Newar.
Personally, it was an emotional experience for me to witness this. Knowing that people from different part of the world was watching our cultural dance and they were enjoying it. It just made me stand there with so much pride. For the love I have for my country and my culture, I wish to be born as Nepali again and again.

wow they are wearing the newari jyapu dress. If i am not wrong, Jyapus are Kiratis. They were left behind when Kirati resettled outside the Kathmandu valley, many moving to the east of Nepal after the Kirat dynasty came to end at the hands of the Licchavis.
After Licchavis came to power, the Brahmins Hindunized everything in Nepal from places to people to even religious icons.
The original name of Bhaktapur is Khwopring in the Kirati language.
Lalitpur was called "Yala" and Kirtipur was called "Kipo" by the Kiratis.
But the Brahmins have changed the name of these places with the current Sanskrit Khas language.
If possible, we must change the name of these places to the original Kirati name.

Do Newari people know they are also part of Kirati family?
Kiratis are described in the Mahabharata as tiger men which means simply as brave and fierce as the tiger.
Kiratis should unite and take back the power from the Hindu Brahminbadi/Bahunbadi government.
We Tharus are also part of Kirat families. And among the Newar communities - Jyapus are part of Kirat families. (Maharjan, Dangol, Singh, Suwal, Prajapati, Tandukar, Byanjankar, Gopali, Balami ..etc) are Kiratis.
Kiratis must unify and take back power from the Hindu Brahminbadi/Bahunbadi government.
This way Nepal will take the path of development and progress.
This way Nepali people do not have to leave Nepal in search of jobs in other countries.
    Jai Naya Nepal.

I have seen a video of a marriage between Rai boy and Limbu girl in Rural Nepal. What a perfect couple.
      Now I have a message.
Kiratees must unite. We Kiratis must rebuild our country Nepal.
Dr. Jagman Gurung in his interview video explains that Jyapus are Kiratis. Shrestha's and Pradhan on the other hand are not related to Kiratis. they more related to Licchavis, Gupta, and other Indian people.
You are right. Among the Newar communities, Jyapus are part of Kirat families. That is the Maharjan, Dangol, Singh, Suwal, Prajapati, Tandukar, Byanjankar, Gopali, Balami are Kiratis. These are the same Kiratis who stayed behind in the Kathmandu valley while other Kiratis resettled in other parts of Nepal when the Licchavis came to power.

@@user-pp8wc4hm8d We know today it was the Licchavis who brought the Hindu caste system and other Hindu culture when they entered Nepal from northern India.
Today we know Chyasal was one of the main battlegrounds where the Kirati armies came face to face against the invading Licchavis army. It was here in Chyasal where 800 Kirati soldiers died while protecting Kathmandu valley from the Licchavis.
Had Kiratis defeated the Licchavis from overtaking Kathmandu valley, today the history of Nepal would have been very different?
There would have been NO Hindu caste system in Nepal. There would still be a lot of Buddhist and Kirati shrines and statues in the valley and other parts of Nepal today.
But just too bad the Kiratis were outnumbered and defeated by the Licchavis who came in a large number from northern India.

And married of one of the daughters to Tibet and took Buddhism there also. What are you saying. Emperor Ashoka daughter also married a Licchavi King which brought more Buddhist monuments in the Valley.

this is why the Kirati priest should be in charge of the Pashupatinath temple. Lord Shiva is originally the God of the Kirat people.
His original name is Paruhang. He is also known as Kirateshwar Mahadev.
The Pashupatinath temple Nepal has an origin that dates back to the Kirat era.
Nepal's oldest statue (Birupakshya) from Kirati era is inside the Pashupatinath temple. Birupakshya statue was built by Kirati people in ancient times.

One interesting fact about the Pashupatinath temple is that the caretakers and priests are the Indian Brahmins. This tradition of having Indian Brahmins at the Pashupatinath temple was started by the Malla King in the 14th century.
Another fact about Nepal is that there was no Hindu caste system during the Kirat dynasty. The coming of the Licchavis introduced the Hindu caste system in Nepal after they defeated the Kirat.
The Malla King later modified the Hindu Caste System with the help of the Indian Brahmins whom he invited. Ever since the Indian Brahmins were appointed as caretakers and priests of the Pashupatinath temple.
Now we must make changes again. We must let the Kirati priest be in charge of the Pashupatinath temple.
