True, I have noticed a lot of the things Morj has talked about for all these years, and never heard anyone else talk about them. I believe thats why people always look down on One Piece thinking its basic, fans were not prepared to articulate the complexity of this manga
How do you do it man? Once again showcasing why Oda is a genius mangaka. Nowadays, I think a lot of the fandom is too focused on pointless, albeit fun powerscaling to fully appreciate the scope of Oda’s writing.
Why shield the fan-base that obviously has a mob mentality and thrives on negativity and constant aimless power scaling discussions. The popularity of one piece has made the community into a toxic one and there is no need to pretend otherwise. People are impatient and ungrateful.

100%, there was actually a whole other section of the vid in my first draft script that talked about Blackbeard but I'm moving it to another topic cuz talking about him kind of crosses over into some other stuff.
What's really cool that I'll say here that I at least wanted to mention in the vid, is BBs final clash with ace is (in some translations) him saying that only the sun or the darkness can win....i gotta lot to say on bb in the future for sure

Personally, I think him and Luffy will go into war over the last Road Poneglyph, and that's what the "historic incident" from ch800 is refering to . After that, Exposition Dump on Raftel, and then, the Final War comes
@@behanort4556 I do still believe he is the final boss. Theres other sides to all this that I haven't talked about, and a lot of that goes towards why I believe Blackbeard will be the final villain. Could be wrong though, and we wont know for awhile!

I think narratively it would make sense if Luffy's final official boss is the World Government and then Blackbeard will try to take advantage of the weakened forces on both sides as he always does. And it makes me realize something else.
The reason why Blackbeard is not the man Roger is waiting for and can never be the pirate king, it's because despite being a D., he has the Dark-Dark fruit, so he can never be the one who brings light or sun in the world.
In fact there is that excellent theory going on that to awaken his devil fruit, Blackbeard needs to be completely in the dark, which is why he was under a curtain to take Whitebeard's power, because as long as there is some light, his devil fruit can't be fully mastered.
In the end Blackbeard needs darkness, so he can never be the true enemy of the "gods" of this world.

There is also the fact that Blackbeard was specifically looking for the Darkness fruit which made him antithetical to someone seeking out the dawn.
The surprising thing is, is that Blackbeard is the only other character other than Luffy that has made global changes through his actions.
So in a way Oda is saying that Darkness is just as influential as Light.
@@yteriaereh6467 Blackbeard is such a perfect antithesis to Luffy it's honestly absolutely nutty how well Oda did in creating him. Like it isn't some boring exact copy of Luffy just "evil" it's literally a man who has similar ideals to Luffy (Freedom, following your dreams) but is going about achieving his dreams in ways completely opposed to Luffy's entire ideology.
Blackbeard is also governed by the same rules of the world as Luffy. Blackbeard was a nobody pirate same as Luffy when we meet him at Jaya for the first time, and as the story progresses we see him gain notoriety at the same rate as Luffy but with vastly different methods.
If Blackbeard wasn't so damn evil I would bet on him to take down the WG and bring the dawn.

I share the same thoughts as well. When Luffy and Bellamy met again during Dressrosa Arc, Bellamy told Luffy that he was able to reach Skypiea. Luffy's right off the bat response was "You did not do anything to the people there, did you?" It was just proof of Luffy being protective about the islands where his friends lived but not really realizing his bigger and greater role in the world. In Dressrosa, Doffy repeatedly said that Luffy and Law will regret destroying the so-called "peace" that the country has and that the people will hate them for it. But it turned out that they rejoiced after the war even when the country was torn into rubbles.
The "gods" hate and are terrified of the light that Luffy brings to the world because they thrive in its darkness.
We've been blessed once again.

That there could be so much more to its name and design is something that I had never really thought about, probably because it is played up so well as a joke. If this ever comes up as a big reveal in the actual story I will probably lose my mind.
it probably won't, at max someone will look at the sunny in the light and think it is the sun but it actually is the straw hat crew or something in these lines. I don't think Oda will put this in the story, but if he does it will only be an epic scene, and not something super important for the plot (just like the way luffy entered in marineford, it is metaphorical since he is coming from the sun and there is some sunlight around him and everyone creating an epic moment, but if they had just sailed to marineford without WB and aokiji interference in the sea it wouldn't have changed anything in the plot).
Knowing what we know now, this video gives me chills. You really called it. At the same time, regarding how the story has evolved, I think that’s just a testament to Oda’s ability to use ideas he’s implemented within his story and expanded upon them. I have a hard time believing that he had concepts like Imu and the Yonko already planned for when he thought it would take him 5 years to complete the story
Idea: Remember how Morj explained how the Skypeia arc was heavy foreshadowing for the general plot of One Piece? What if Oda also foreshadowed how the World Nobles keep their reign over the world? Enel had observation haki able to surround all of Skypeia, rooting out dissenters with a combination of his df and haki. What if the World Nobles are able to do the same, with the national treasure of Marie Joas??

The reason why Water 7 Saga is such a masterpiece, at least imo, is thanks to this realization you've mentioned.
At first, OP's world seems childishly simplistic: The World is mostly ocean but filled with hundrends of small islands, there are pirates who are bad guys, and the marines who are good guys. But, because of that basic World builiding in the East Blue Saga, when we finally get to Robin's flashback... Even now, no words can express the emotions I felt, when Usopp burned down that flag. O D. A is, in fact, a genius
Strawhats declaring war on the world is my personal favorite moment in the series! Honestly chapter 398 in general may just be the greatest one piece chapter ever (imo)

The Thousand Sunny part blew my mind. Just as the ship accidentally became a sun, the Straw Hats "accidentally" become heroes. And just like they were using a sheep as their boat, the world saw them as inoffensive, and by the point they got their lion boat, the world was seeing them as a real threat and a force to be reckoned with. It's GENIUS!
Your channel is next level, with each new video I not only get more and more impressed with the story Oda built, but also with how you managed to pick each subtle hint he made throughout the series.

I never knew Jinbe was mentioned so early in the series.
How is possible ? I mean I remember exactly why I couldn't forget that Jimbe was introduced at this time : It was the first mention of the 7 warlord, putting him on the same class as Mihawk, the guy who has just demolished zoro, and the first mention of a fishman, the same species and basically the boss of the guy who seemed to be the most formidable enemy encountered yet.
There's a lot of subjects that are mentioned much earlier than a lot of us remember, that's what happens when a story is brilliantly written but also lasts over 900 chapters! There's so much information that I "learn" things and then realize I already saw the part where that was revealed years ago.

Something I only noticed because of this video while rereading is how Usopp's Sniper King mask is vaguely reminiscent of the sun in both design and color. It's also no wonder that the man wearing the mask of the sun would burn down the symbol of the regime.
Thank you Mr. Morj! This was an absolutely beautiful video, I have seen this idea thrown around and people provide evidence of it but you did such a good job structuring the idea in video format and laying it out in a way that provided the most context possible of the story not just the evidence of the dawn, that it honestly blew me away. I hope you continue to have a passion to make these types of high quality videos because you're the only one that does videos this well made on one piece imo.

HOLY SHIT this is all just makes sense now, do you guys remember whats luffy calls in dressrosa? yes, its LUCY, and now try to search whats LUCY meaning in google, it means "BORN AT THE DAWN OF DAYLIGHT", and do you know who else has this name? yes it is the devil himself, the other name of satan, LUCIFER which means the bringer of light, also the other name of venus "the morning star", and we all know that the 'D' is the natural enemy of god, which is the devil, everything in one pice are related to devil, like the devil fruit or the dragon that has been mention many time in this series, and dragon is how the bible writes for the devil. i think oda wanted to named the mc of one piece "lucy" at first place but then he thought it would be to abvious and thats why he changed it to luffy (i also thinks this has something to do with his DF). and yes thats it, GODA did it again, this type of story teller in philosophical shit is insane in ONE PIECE. You are the only one that I've found that can really put a finger on the things Oda is doing with One Piece. Most other channels are speculation and sensation, you take a deep look at the methods Oda used and that is why I've been subbed to you ever since I fist saw a video of you, and yet again... you manage to explain a part of one piece in such a way that I can link this to people who hardly know one piece, just to be able to show them WHY I think Oda is the best story teller there is in my honest opinion. Oda could've laid the foundations for this Luffy/Sun comparison RIGHT from the beginning but if nobody could connect the dots at the time, then they're lost on ALL of us. THIS MAN is the earliest example I could find of someone successfully connecting Oda's dots, and if you can't show me someone doing it earlier, then you haven't disproved my point, and he is indeed a savant, a prophet

This truely is a mindblowing analysis. I always wondered what certain symbols or words could mean in one Piece. Like the title romance dawn, which didnt make any sense to me until now. Linking all these things together just makes me realize how genius Oda actually is.

You talk about how Oda first showed us a fantastic world to then show us the darkness beneath it (and that this is a macrocosm of what the straw hats experience every island). Interestingly, Water 7 is when this darkness is shown to us, but the storyline right before it was Skypea the most fantastical and romantic arc of the series.

After I watched this I had a sudden thought. The Straw Hats defeat darkness on every island. But the one time they were defeated, it was by light, namely Kizaru & Kuma.
