I am senior citizen having medical issue ,i wrote to this person ask desmond lee and pm wong for help just to rent a hfb rental flat but was not even entertained and rejected me four times of requests. What kind of care can you imagine this gov will provide to seniors when needed urgently???? Answer is , eat yourself.
You should seek your town council assistance and find a session with your own MP first. Pm has more important and wide coverage jobs to fulfill. Imagine every Singaporean with personal issues write to Pm and expect him to personally reply, you think he has so much time? 😅
Singapore is obsessed with accumulating national reserves and Government is prepared to pay the political cost and hike GST in order to do so. However, our birthrates are falling below self replacement and we have to import people to maintain the population size. If the trend worsens, we would actually be accumulating reserves for naturalised foreigners and their descendants. You may tell me most of us are descendants of people who came from foreign land anyway, but I can’t help but feel a tinge of sadness. How silly of us to scrimp and save only to pass it to people outside the family😢. I spent a month in Greece, a country which was insolvent just not too long ago, and they told me they have an average of three to four kids per family. I don’t know how they manage but we need some drastic measures. Let’s give out free COEs or equivalents for second and third kids. I do not want to see the money that we have saved from the Pioneer Generation down eventually go to foreigners. We should not allow the Government to hike GST until we see birth rates go back up. This should be LW’s KPI.
