David: NO! NO. NO! If you do not believe that Jesus, the Son of God that came to pay for our sins, lived a perfect life that when you accept it , He covers you with His righteousness and you are promised resurrection, heaven and eternity. So have faith in God for He loves you even if you smoke.

The I AM in Exodus 3:14 is God the Father Almighty. But the I AM in John 8:58 is not a direct quote of the Lord Jesus to refer to God. Because Paul did not mean the same I AM in Exodus when he talked about himself in 1 Cor.15:10. Based on Greek words: I AM (Exodus 3:14) - eh-yeh a-ser eh-yeh I am (John 8:58) - ego eimi I am what I am (1 Cor. 15:10) - eimi ho eimi Based on these Greek words, John 8:58 and 1 Cor.15:10 refer to a common man's identity (here the human identity of Paul and Jesus). It is only Exodus 3:14 that refers to I AM as the title of God the Almighty revealed to Moses. Therefore, it is clear that Jesus is not referring to Himself as the I AM (God) when He said, "Before Abraham was, I am." What many confidently believe as Jesus declaring Himself as God by using John 8:58 is blatantly an error.
