actually.... the thing in the movie is that the mother actually thinks that his elder stepson(hero) died.. because his youger son(own son) having jealous on his step brother tells her that he saw him dying in a burning hut.. soo.. she does the annual event of his sons death (holy prayer for peace to his son's soul) and gives the gangachal(water from sacred river ganga in kasi or varnasi) to his son to keep it with him to do some prayer or holy event or so.. but bieng jealosy or irritated of his mother love even after his bro's death.. he angryly throws it into the sea... and the rest is in the video above...
