The Channel Live dudes were teachers in real life.
Big facts 💯 out of Richmond Virginia (804)
❤
Once a teacher always a teacher. When you got THE teacher hanging wit you
DJ Premier did the scratches on the hook and KRS made the beat. Such a dope and classic joint.
Didn’t know KRS made this beat.. that’s dope. I used to bump this hella
Naa im pretty sure KRS did the scratches. it says on the vinyl he did the scratches
@@KvngLxo it wasn't premier. You are correct. It was krs
People sleep on KRIS beat making skills
Dope reaction.
"...rip out my clothes like Bill Bixby"
Bill Bixby played the role of Dr Bruce Banner in the original 1970s TV show "The Incredible Hulk"
I still rock this song on the regular. This and 93 till infinity are timeless hip hop perfection.
The way you are moving your head was the norm for 90s hip hop...to the point where the dopest songs were called head bangers.... which is where bangers of today comes from.
‘93 Til Infinity is a gr8 classic🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💿
ILL
Can't forget c.r.e.a.m
One of my all time fav songs 🔥
I remember when I first heard this I was like DAMMN!
Classic, sign of the times song foREAL. I was in college.. '94, what a wonderful, marvelous time to be alive. All praise due to the Most High!
Hey so was I...graduated in 97 yo
OMG this joint just lives forever. It transcends changes in music...that sample, that beat...forever fire! From the moment I heard it in 94.
was in 8th grade when this came out...was big in NY..always got radio play on hot 97
Was a senior in high school when it dropped good times bruh
Me to down in va, remember this joint tho, when NY city had it on lock
channel live was a group. Thanks for doing a reaction on them. They are some of the sickest MCs' and lyricists that are not recognized enough. Excellent reaction 👍🔥🔥🔥
"Wake up in the morning got the yearning for herb"... this track is still amazing
I still bump this to this day love it
"Wake up in the morning got the yearning for herbs" #CLASSIC
This track was a club banger. And yeah, Channel Live is a 2-man group from NJ.
Yeah, Channel Live is a duo. Their debut LP Station Identification is pretty slept-on. Please can you do an album reaction to BDP's Sex & Violence album? KRS One is in full god-mode on that record!
That album did reasonably well. The problem was 94 was the single driven Era. The single sold a ton that people didn't want to buy the album.
@@clarktownsend8991 It did OK, but it isn't really mentioned or talked about much anymore, and wasn't really at the time. The LP came out around March 1995, a little while after the Mad Izm 12 dropped in late 1994. '95 was stacked with stellar LPs, so Station Identification kinda got lost in the mix.
Station Identification is such a dope album, deserves way more love.
Had it I think I brought every album back then I was a hip hop junkie
@otisyoungblood Yeah same here, and still have it, along with so many other LPs from that era. Also got the recent 2LP reissue and the 12s of Reprogram and Mad Izm, including the ill Buckwild remixes!
Channel Live - East Orange, NJ icons!!
my fav hip hop song eva. The flow, and rhythm is goated
Mine too fam. The production is hypnotic.
I love this song. Been bumping it since it came out, but I still have a good laugh every time dude says "WAKE UP IN THE MORNIN, GOT THE YEARNIN FA HERB!"
This beat is a classic
The sample comes from a 70s song called "Strange Way" by a group called "Firefall" . The sample can be heard within the first 5 seconds of the song
Also the beat comes from a 70s funk group called "Lafayette Afro Rock Band" . A song called "Hihache" . That song is filled with hip-hop samples from start to finish
This my era right here I gotta send you a list that'll blow ya mind
Arguably the greatest DJ Premiere beat ever!!! I rock this song regularly!!!
KRS ONE made this beat
@@40EastTrill interesting because some sites report Buckwild, while others sites say KRS and additional producers
1995 classic also produced by KRS-one
Check out
Mad lion -

KRS 1 is def one of the greatest to touch the mic ❤
Krs One - H.E.A.L. feat Ll Cool J, Big Daddy Kane, Run DMC, Mc Lyte, Harmony, Ms. Melody, Kid Capri, Freddie Foxx, Queen Latifah
Krs-One feat Channel Live - Blade
Public Enemy feat Krs-One - Unstoppable
Krs-One - 5 Boroughs feat. Buckshot, Vigilante, Keith Murray, Cam'ron, Killah Priest, Bounty Killer, Redman, Prodigy & Rev. Run
Damn I forgot about this track “wake up in the morning got the yearning for herb”
This is that Jam "Spark Mad Izm" 💨 in the 90's everybody had their own flow, they literally sound the same today "money, women & cars" same flow just a different voice nothing like my era papi
And yea KRS is the archivist of the culture from day one til now full representation
Cannel Live is a duo. The two dudes (besides KRS One) that were rapping on this joint.
Damn... I used to bump this non stop! Still dope after all these years! Yo, you gotta react to "Free Mumia" by them. 👊🏾 actually, by KRS One featuring Channel Live
"Don't let me rip out my clothes like Bill Bixby"
BARS
The beat is hard AF. Perfect mix of hypnotic melody and rough baseline. Classic tune.
AHHHHHHHHH!! You're the man for this!!!! Classic!!!!
"Station Identification" is a banger by Channel Live
'counter clock wise i rise like the sun' -- he means the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, it would rise from the right (if you are looking north) hence counter clockwise....
a lot of emcees in the 90s drop jewels in the raps if you have the ears to listen..
This is my era!! These new MC’s won’t do this! I know they can but they don’t. This is the essence of hip hop!
Oh man, I loved this song. I haven't heard it in decades.
My childhood hero right here ! as a Bronx native of course krs will always be my goat
🎤 Counterclockwise, I rise like the sun
Now feel the heat from the rays of the gun
Shootin out the mental mist
How you gonna know the real shit when your style's counterfeit?🎤😎😎
Still got this cassette single!
BDP - Jack of Spades

NAH, 'ENTA DA STAGE' CAME OUT 1993, THAT WAS 1996-97 IF YOU'RE REFERRING TO BAD BOY (BIG/DIDDY/MASE)..
@@goldenlion8123 I was referring to Bad Boy

About time you reacted to this timeless gem…😤
“Sex For The Sport” - another Channel Live banger 💯
My joint yo… Man I forgot about this. Going straight to my playlist. KRS da Don

Gil 180 BX it’s one of my favorite videos of all time and I keep telling everyone that KRS ONE to me is the best MC 💯🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷💯💪🏼💯💪🏼💯😎
Wow, that's a jam I forgot about...saw the title and was like oh hell yeah
I thought I was a hip hop head, but alot of the stuff you react to I never heard! Adding this to my playlist. You gotta do a reaction to Nas-still dreaming, off the Hip Hop is Dead Album!!
This beat puttin up Jokic Numbers in the paint
This was one of those joints you let play on repeat. Yeah the two were a group.
Thanks for showing love to Krs One check out some of his newer work the past few years I suggest the track “Re Mind yourself” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Canibus is one of the smartest emcees ever!! Listen to his bars and subject matter and vocabulary.
I remember we used to have this on repeat when me and my homies would have our NBA Live '95 "tournaments"..Memories
This song is criminally unappreciated!
If I’m not mistaken one of them was a public teacher before they formed the group Mad Izm
I'll listen to this versus the junk of today! 💯 Old school for life!
This is a great song that most don't remember unless you were watching music videos during this era (early 90s) . Love this beat
You need to review some Boot Camp Clik on here! Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, Smif-n-Wessun, OGC, etc, you'd love them if you liked Channel Live!
When I first heard this record could not stop playing. KRS and Channel Live killed this.

Peace King. Peace to the Family. One of the illest beats in hip hop history💯🔥🔥🔥🔥

Yes.
KRS-ONE “Black Cop”, & “Sound of the Police”!
You got to check out KRS's song with Zack De La Rocha from Rage Against the Machine. The song is called CIA.
I think this came out around same time as Blahzay Blah - Danger...now thats a good one for you ahmad

Fun Fact: I read somewhere that this was actually a cypher they did when they were chillin and then decided to record it
Suggestion….Funk Flex and Buckshot from Black Moon “Buck Ain’t no Joke/Follow my Lead” video
Definitely a group. You have to review Criminal Minded and Poetry of the same album as The Bridge is Over. As well as EPMD song Head Banger. SMOOTHE DA HUSTLER Broken Language 💯.
You know your jams.
Man my boys and I used freestyle to this instrumental when this came out back in the 90’s. Straight fire.
I'm surprised no one has jacked this beat.
This is a classic right here
