I was definitely kind of sad when the pipe got replaced with Nerve's sword halfway through the game. It makes sense that it'd be a WAY more effective weapon and thus an extremely sensible upgrade....but man, beating goons to death with a pipe is SO satisfying. Especially when they're all kitted out in a sci-fi manner with cybermods, armor, implants and guns - taking them down with a steel pipe is satisfyingly subversive.

Me either brother, me either...I did play hong kong massacre and neon chrome, which are both top down twin stick shooters 👌🏻 your milage may vary with them
@forest8779 I've played Hong Kong Massacre, was fun, and a bit challenging. Haven't played Neon Chrome though.
I have played OTXO though, and although it's a roguelike; You die you start from the beginning, I still enjoyed the gameplay enough to push forward to the credits.
Two games I haven't played but want to get eventually is Suit for Hire, which can be played top-down or third-person, surprisingly. It was brought to my attention by Raycevick.
The other, is a game called Jackal, which seems to be stylish and bloody, and you gain access to different powers over the course of the game. It might be a bit on the short but sweet side, from what i'm reading.
If you enjoy this kind of stuff, you might also like I Am Your Beast and El Paso Elsewhere; I Am Your Beast sets you loose in levels to kill everyone and finish it as fast as you can using whatever weapons and environmental dangers you can, with the ability to climb trees and run across wires and branches and stuff. You know those special agents that usually get brought in for one last job? You're the guy that refuses.
El Paso Elsewhere is Max Payne mixed with Monsters; Mummies, Werewolves, all that, while your character descends a reality warped motel to, and I am quoting the game, stop their ex girlfriend Draculae from finishing a ritual that will end the world. Wasn't sure about the soundtrack at first but I ended up enjoying it.
@forest8779 Neon Chrome is far better than it has any right to be and HK Massacre is fun for a playthrough. Looking forward to Ruiner 2.
@forest8779 while those were good they just didnt hit like ruiner did at all. it was like some crazy cyberpunk spin off of hotline miami while those felt like clone husks that get repetitive fast
To this day I still listen to ruiner ost and think about how underrated and amazing this game was. True cyberpunk feeling amongst all others. Seeing it continues gives me joy. Congrats and sending lots of love!

When I played the first game first time, I remember I got sick from work... I went home early that day, I lived in an apartment facing the Bund in Shanghai. That night I woke up around 2 am because I went to sleep too early previous day, I decided to try the game, I think was on game pass... The next few hours became a cyberpunk dream... the music, the action, the scenes... I still remember the 弟 character on the mask... everything about the game I feel in love. It is a frigging masterpiece. This makes me so excited, and congratulations on the likes, this game rocks.
