When I first saw Selby on the show, I couldn't believe that a man that gorgeous could ever exist on the planet. I mean this man was dangerously gorgeous 😍
So gracious, and still SO handsome with that lovely smile; seems like a very nice, down-to-earth guy. He was definitely my second favorite character on DS next to Barnabas.
I remember being a kid and being totally hooked on Dark Shadows. I adored Quentin, he was my absolute favorite character on the show. I wanted to marry him, LOl. David Selby brought so much to the role, not to mention he was and still is incredibly handsome. :)
Yes, quite handsome legendary Actor Mr. Selby is and totally "stubborn" as Quentin Collins. A nice "wicked twist" when he was possessed by Count Petofi in the 1897 Storyline.
I loved those first scenes of Quentin when he was a ghost back in time. He was so handsome, tall and stately looking in his Victorian suit and ascot and his long sideburns. His eyes were absolutely 'haunting' when he would just stare without speaking.
@@CJD731 when Quentin Collins was first introduced on the show, he played a "ghost" from the 1700s that was haunting the modern-day Collingwood estate in the 1960s. But later in the show after Barnabas Collins found a way to go back in time to both the 1700s and then the 1800s, we were introduced to Quentin Collins as a living person in the 1800s but there was a storyline where Quentin died and then came back to life as a "zombie." I found Quentin Collins the ghost to be quite scary, but I found Quentin Collins the zombie to be rather hilarious because everyone knew he had died, but he kept popping up in unexpected places and scaring people to death.
@@TaDarling1 I am 68 yrs , and I was one of those who ran home from school to watch DS. After a while I lost interest in doing so as my Mother slipped the ironing board in front of me as I watched the show😡. So I have only recently watched the whole series. I think I ❤️Barnabas more now than I did then💓. So needless to say, I about spit my coffee out when I first laid 👀 on Quentin! Lol. I love Dark Shadows. Jonathan Frid was such a treasure as well as the rest of the cast.
So nice to hear his audition story. I worked for Marion Dougherty in the 1990s and I heard the same story from Marion. She also cast David in the Streisand film - "Up the Sandbox" after Night of Dark Shadows.
Those Dramatic haunting eyes of legendary Actor Mr. David Selby holds you spellbound. The DS✨s star iconic Roles of Quentin Collins are treasures. The Ghost n the phone send chills all along the spine. Happy 55th 2021 Emerald Anniversary n "many" more to the Iconic DARK SHADOWS Cast✨Crew.
I loved dark shadows. It was so much a part of my life..my fave actor actress..willie angelique.victoria maggie and josette. But most of all Barnabas. Now quentin intrigued me..but was leary of him. He always pretended to be normal. But wasn't and you never saw it coming.
Quinton remained consistent in character throughout the series. I've watched/ studied the series my whole life begining at the beginning in the 60's I watched it in high school. Now at 70 I've finished the whole series for the fourth time. The characters, plots all intriguing. The variety of characters each actor interprets is so we'll done. I love the comradery between Quinten and Barnabas throughout. One of a kind series, so many twists and turns, great acting!
I was in junior high during "Dark Shadows" run and we were reading "Turn of the Screw" at the time. I quickly made the connection between the novel and the Quentin/Beth story. At 14, I had such a crush on David Selby!!!!
I dont recall much of Quentins storyline but burned into my brain forever is a little passage where he is a werewolf in a cage of some kind jumping from side to side trying to get out. Funny what sticks with you.
I didn't like Quentin at first, but as the complexity of his character developed he became very likeable indeed and one of my favorites. He could be nasty and arrogant, polite and charming, or he could throw up his hands and care less about what may transpire.
I just re-watched the Quentin Ghost story and the family left Collingwood episode He spoke for the first time he told Julia about David that it was to late he is mine" few minutes later David died..then the family left the home and Roger tells Quentin "We'll be back " and the Quentin's music plays the camera roams the empty house and ends with Quentin laughing.
Hi, David! It's your old friend from Alabama...Trust you're well and happy. Where's Lamar? I'd love to get it touch. Is she still in Topanga Canyon? You were #1 for me...
He was favorite next yo Johnathon I thought he was funny all that drinking and being so sarcastic 🤣. But man this man was hotter than hell. I could never stop staring at him .he was always so in control. I love on set barnabas was a great reaction not enemies . First time I saw him I like omg I just died and went to heaven
I think he would have very good in the role of Rev.Trask if Jery Lacy had not played the role.I also think either one of them would have been good as Han Solo in in the Star Wars movies.John Karlen also would have been good in that role
I don’t do w y te guys: But that dude was a bonafide hottie. Like the Clockwork Orange actor. Like 2000s Anakin Hayden Skywalker; n finally (Pre nutso w yte witch chick he went to court with) Johnny Depp. Those are My all time pale boy fettishes. Starting with this 6 foot 3 guy here! Wow 🤩 Oh! n the other hottie on DS was the Joe /Nathan actor: wowsers 🤩. Actually, Trask actor was a hot guy too, it’s just not as noticeable because of those types of characters he was doing. On the other hand, as far as DS I don’t get why Chris/Tim (brisco 😛) guy is considered hot: I don’t see it. LOL 😆

Another handsome man on the show!🥰
I was a very proud 8 year old member of the Quentin Collins Fan Club.
So gracious, and still SO handsome with that lovely smile; seems like a very nice, down-to-earth guy. He was definitely my second favorite character on DS next to Barnabas.
He was for most DS fans.
David is a wonderful Actor. Lol, he stole my heart when I was 8 years old.
What a classy, handsome actor. He seems so down-to-earth.

I have these same memories and feelings about David Selby! Long live Quentin Collins!

Loved him on Falcon Crest!

Lol…Quentin Zombie 😂
His only lines were a menacing laugh when he first appeared.
@@TaDarling1 to me he was more like a zombie than a ghost👻

Just saw the episode where he played an art teacher on The Waltons and developed feelings for Olivia. His eyes are always what I notice first.
I loved David as Quentin. Such a terrific actor.
He's got Everything..and then some.
So so handsome 😍
I would rush home from school just to watch Quinten on Dark Shadow's
still a handsome, sweet guy

So handsome at any age. My second favorite character on Dark Shadow's 🦇🖤
Love David.
My favorite character and still very handsome
still handsome :)
The 1897 storyline will always be my favorite...very complex, with multiple tracts. You could make a novel out of it.
He is muh fav forever
David Selby made Quentin Collins he was the perfect fit to play Quentin Collins!. When I was a teenager, I had quite a crush on him
Met him at a DS convention.
Very nice and good looking man.
I met David Selby at the studio on

I loved his lips.
Played Perfect with those side burns and make up !
for some unknown reason i expect Dave to never die.
he seems sweet
The story line with Quentin and David was based on the novel of Henry James "The Turn of The Screw". Quentin was a evil murderess ghost.
