Great video Jack! But considering how much AVATAR made in the box office and now that Iger is back, AVATAR definitely is a safer bet at this point.
@@glendisney3538 Interesting…do you mean in Paris or at another Disney resort? Although if anything, I’d imagine Paris would get Simpsons first. It’ll be a while for the American parks since they’re currently still at Universal of course.
I loved this video! It’s so exciting to imagine all of these additions to Paris! The parks still lack a water flume attraction, so perhaps such an attraction would be themed around the Lion King? Even if water is not a natural part of the movies. Or perhaps a Pandora water flume? I think that a Mary Poppins attraction could be placed in the English Gardens area along the new walkway to the lake, across from the new Tangled spinner ride. Also, if a Star Wars Speed Racer attraction goes behind Discovery Land, then the area between Star Tours and through the speed racers could be themed as a mini Star Wars Land.
I'm excited to see what ends up happening with the Frozen themed land later on next year. I do love the movies so I'm curious to see how it's gonna turn out. In terms of these rumors, I honestly think that doing some sort of Festival of the Lion King makes a lot more sense than turning it into a whole new land. But if Disney were to go in the direction of bringing Pandora to Paris, that would be really cool as well. Great video, Jack!
Avatar land would be a great addition. Cars land would be amazing over the far side with Radiator Springs Racers and they could keep Cars Road Trip for capacity.
I still think they would do Flight of Passage as the flag ship, but do an audio animatronic pond where we can meet some of the new sea creatures (haven’t watched Avatar 2 yet, but it could be like the Raptor meet and Greets the Jurassic Park/World areas have at Universal), then use Polynesia for inspiration for shops and amenities-its possible they could combine some of that part into whatever a Moana area at AK could entale
The only issue with Disneyland paris is that it doesn’t take long to do and can be done within 2 days so more attractions are definitely needed to keep guests at the park! Would love to see something original and not copies of existing attractions!
I wish they would just make Galaxy’s Edge… perhaps a different planet or time period if they want to switch it up. Even though I live 6 hours away I would consider buying a annual pass if that happens. Not that that will make it financially easier for Disney to accomplish, I’m just saying that would for me be the tipping point
An Lion King land would be interesting, and more importantly, it would definitely bring A LOT MORE guests to Walt Disney Studios Park, because of it being such an cherished franchise!
well i understand disney for having a hard timing finding a theme, after most movies, specially on the animated side bombed. so whet else is left than returning to older properties. and as much i disliked avatar 2, a themed area from the movie would be still awesome
I can’t wait for the frozen land as it’s also got a rapunzel ride, but my opinion on the Star Wars world is they should either redo the outside of space mountain so that is fits with the rest of the Star Wars area, and make an avatar or zootopia area in the studios, OR they could move the Star Wars rides into where they are planning to make a new area and maybe add a couple things and in the Disneyland park where Star Wars area used to be, add a beauty and the beast area because that is a classic and there is nothing for it in the Disneyland parks
I’d love to see Star Wars stay in the main park. They could retheme mickeys philharmagic to a sw show and they would have there own mini Star Wars land there. For the studios I’d love to see an original concept don’t care what just be original
It would be amazing if Disney would theme Hyperspace Mountain back to the first one Journey to the moon, or they could have a swing with it and make it to a brand new theming with Stitch and a space battle. Further more the StarWars expansion would sooth the main park better at the Pizza Planet spot, especially if it's a new kind of rollercoaster. For the expansion in the studio's I would go with the land of Pandora, it feels the most fitting and it would be a major boost for the bit dimmed park. This is an opportunity to show how Disney is capable of making amazing rides.
They'll never do somehting like that, but I'd love to see an "Evil land" where its all about Disney Villains. That's be amazing and original. Maybe too much for DLRP tho.
Considering the fanciful design of the new promenade and Frozen, it would seem the entire lake region should be focused on fairytales and princesses. The expansions should be things like Beauty and the Beast and Tangled. Maybe a Snow White area with the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. How about an actual Cinderella dark ride (it’s France after all). I think the traditional princess stories would fit better than Star Wars, Pandora, or The Lion King.
I think its got to be a starwars land. the merch is endless to sell, easy to have meet and greets. the franchise is still massive and expanding today. proven in 2 parks that it works
The plans are being perceptive. The third land I would consider to be the world of Beauty and the Beast unless the castle is reconstructed to look like the Shining Castle from the film in the French Disney Park or the third land can be resemblant to Robin Hood and The Sword in the Stone.
*IP-lands are a dangerous risk to Disney's vibrance* When lands are generic ambiances, IPs serves well (as rides, performances, and overlays) to adapt, refresh, and invigorate the energy using the taste of the times. When an entire land is just one IP, you are boxed in and unable to play with new and exciting interests.
I was in DLP when the budget for this was announced... and one thing that needs to be remembered about DLP - IT GETS COLD! Seriously sub-zero, all the lovely water features froze impressively. Obviously this is fine for the Frozen land, but a Water-based Pandora would need to have some seasonal planning. I kinda hate the amount of Star Wars in Tomorrowland/Discoveryland all around the different parks, it's not futuristic, and it's CERTAINLY not Steampunk Jules Verne adjacent! Having a Star Wars Land is great because it gives the IP a place it belongs.
We're also hearing rumors about the third land being themed on Zootopia, which makes a lot more sense than the Lion King since one is already in construction in Shanghai.
A whole Lion King land just doesn't make sense to me. A ride in fantasyland, yeah, but not a whole land that could be used for a much stronger IP. The live action remake was a bit of a flop, so I just can't see it happen (and I hope it doesn't). The Space Mountain and Speed Runner rumour better happen though! 😆 And if it does I pray that they take this opportunity to put the Discoveryland theatre out of its misery!
Regarding Lion King as Expension - keep in mind the Disney100 Opening of curent Disney-Movies. Behind the Castle theres Pride Rock to the right and the North Mountain to the left :)
Good coverage! It's important to look at previous lands to see where WDSP is going. That means any new land will be cheap. Like Avengers Campus. And Arendelle, which will be minimal compared to the one going into Hong Kong. (As well as a Star Wars attraction buried behind Diane Mountain.) Even the lake here has minimal theming. And that may be why a Lion King land is on the table. It won't require the (expensive) rockwork of AK's Pandora or the skyline of Zootopia. In fact, it could be a straight-up clone of Harambe in AK, minus the animal stuff. There are only a few buildings, the rest is just plants. It would also involve something Disney loves to do: cloning beloved attractions. Festival of the Lion King is a known crowd-pleaser. And I'd guess they'd just create a Lion King movie for the highly-rated Flight of Passage. It sounds like either way they go, there's going to be a Flight of Passage ride system here...
Exciting times for DLP. I've been visiting once p/year for a while. Waiting for Frozen land to be completed, as that looks incredible!!! Yet to do Marvel still & can't wait for another visit
I would like a radiator springs and an african land with 2 sub lands, the sahara with the pride mountain rollercoaster with a part going the the jungle and another scar singing as you go into the deadlands and the 2nd land the jungle with a tarzan jungle trek where youre helping the adventurerers but switch sides when you meat a tarzan audio animatronic and get chased down by clayton, and end with the hanging projection shadow.
Im not a star wars fan. I don't particularly mind what the theme is but I would like it to be unique and not just copies from other parks. A new star wars ride in discoveryland would fit in much better and make more sense to me. Excited to find out 😊
Rise of the resistance is so good... Not much else that DLP has gotten lately is. Blow the socks off DLP guests with that ride at one of their parks, and then yes, bring some form of pandora, as one has already been developed, and another is in the works for Disneyland in CA.
there have been permits filed for a building behind frozen which will house batteries for the drones, so it is very likely that drones would be included in the show. there are also rumours that they bought the Tokyo disneysea barges from their Fantasmic show. furthermore, on the concept art there are fountains shown, so maybe something similar to world of color at dca. these three things are currently the rumours for the nighttime show.
That info is being guarded, as the don’t begin work on a show like that until a year out from opening. And the lake will be ready by end of 2024. So I would expect to hear more about that by the end of this year.
I am confused about why they would cancel Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and build something else in its place rather than build Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and then build a new land on the other side of the lake next to the Frozen land. Sure, the reason could be because they're on a tight budget, but even so, they could still build Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and save the new idea of a new land for a later date.
I just wish they would hurry up and finish the projects they are already doing. It took over a year for " its a small world to be finished. The Nortalis has been closed longer. Cafe Micky has been under construction for years. It's just boarding EVERYWHERE. Paying loads more money to look at boarding
No one will believe me when you read this. But two and half years ago I sent a email to the man in change of Disney parks USA. I sent a video link to a theme park here in the UK .There’s a ride where two people get on separate horses and you race against each other on a track. I made the suggestion that they should build this ride, but with speeder bikes at animal kingdom because they were closing Dino world I thought it would be able to take the pressure off the Star Wars land. If we made cheaper, I’m not constantly be broken down and more people would go to animal kingdom, and it should be done out as ender. I don’t imagine anyone believe me. I wish I had seen shot the message I sent. But it wasn’t about me, I just thought it would make a good ride.
There may have been some backlash re Star Wars GE but when i visited recenly, the area is packed everyday and the theming is amazing. The only issue is the lack of characters in the land considering how many characters you see in Avengers Campus.
I'm very surprised The Lion King never had anything big in the parks barring shows and bit parts in fireworks and parades. However it did take Disney a while to produce a Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast attractions but then saying that I wouldn't think The Lion King would benefit from a dark ride attraction like them given there are more thrill/trauma parts in the movie than the latter's. But with Frozen and potentially Tangled and Pandora lands, would too many IPs in one park be too much for guests to handle. I think Disney could get away with a Great Movie Ride style attractions Don't push the IPs too much with it but it could showcase all the Disney media including Marvel and Star Wars. Runaway Railway would also work in a Toontown themed land seeming how Toon Studio is being rethemed to Pixar.
They'll never do it because it's could be based on a classic rather than tapping into a franchise popular now but as it's a European, something like Soarin but with Mary Poppins flying would be wonderful, recreate Cherry Tree Lane with a little park, a sensory garden for children with special needs would be lovely!
They better make a star wars themed area because they hyped up many people with that on the posters in studios if they decide to scrap the plan they will disappoint a lot of fans in my opinion
Disneyland Paris Resort deserves attractions/lands that are unique to the resort and not just copies from the American parks.

Thanks for the parks content, would love more videos like this
I got whiplash from the Jules Verne themes space mountain and the Indiana Jones coast when it was running backwards.
They already did a festival of lion king afew years ago.
Thanks Jack
Boom goes the dynamite
Avatar land would be a great addition. Cars land would be amazing over the far side with Radiator Springs Racers and they could keep Cars Road Trip for capacity.
I still think they would do Flight of Passage as the flag ship, but do an audio animatronic pond where we can meet some of the new sea creatures (haven’t watched Avatar 2 yet, but it could be like the Raptor meet and Greets the Jurassic Park/World areas have at Universal), then use Polynesia for inspiration for shops and amenities-its possible they could combine some of that part into whatever a Moana area at AK could entale
These videos never disappoint, amazing work ! Id love to see you do a video where you design ideas to improve the existing areas of the studios park
The only issue with Disneyland paris is that it doesn’t take long to do and can be done within 2 days so more attractions are definitely needed to keep guests at the park! Would love to see something original and not copies of existing attractions!
A Villains Land would be wicked there.
I cannot wait to see the Walt Disney Studios in Disneyland Paris for 2024 Summer Olympics next year.
Would love to have an Epcot themed land that would be amazing.
well i understand disney for having a hard timing finding a theme, after most movies, specially on the animated side bombed. so whet else is left than returning to older properties. and as much i disliked avatar 2, a themed area from the movie would be still awesome
Iove to see water rides in upcoming attractions of Disneyland Paris who agree with me
jack just had a huge thought. d23 and bob announces joe is coming back to oversee the animal kingdom expansion.
I'm still hoping for a Star Wars themed land. Maybe even set around the timeline of The Mandalorian?
I can’t wait for the frozen land as it’s also got a rapunzel ride, but my opinion on the Star Wars world is they should either redo the outside of space mountain so that is fits with the rest of the Star Wars area, and make an avatar or zootopia area in the studios, OR they could move the Star Wars rides into where they are planning to make a new area and maybe add a couple things and in the Disneyland park where Star Wars area used to be, add a beauty and the beast area because that is a classic and there is nothing for it in the Disneyland parks
Still annoyed the Frozen Land isn’t getting the full thing, missing out on the Rollercoaster :/ if there’s one thing WDS needs, it’s quality rides
There are two other possible expansions for DL Paeis Stdio Park, namely Perter Pan and Tangled based on the two lands being built at Tokyo DisneySea!
They should built a STAR WARS land, but with Endor vibes, more in the vibe of the weather in Paris and it will make it more unique then the US ones
No one even rides space mountain in Paris. It sucks and just gives you a headache. It’s basically rocking roller coaster.
I love what you do
They'll never do somehting like that, but I'd love to see an "Evil land" where its all about Disney Villains.
I wish they'd build a droid depot and savis at Paris.
The SEA link would be awesome
A whole Lion King land just doesn't make sense to me. A ride in fantasyland, yeah, but not a whole land that could be used for a much stronger IP. The live action remake was a bit of a flop, so I just can't see it happen (and I hope it doesn't).
The Space Mountain and Speed Runner rumour better happen though! 😆
And if it does I pray that they take this opportunity to put the Discoveryland theatre out of its misery!
I would love a water ride because it's gets really hot in in summer and there is not really a ride to cool you off maybe a water ride from avatar
Great stuff as always. I hope SW stays at the Studios Park, it needs it way more.
Is there any news regarding what type of nighttime spectacular would go in the central lagoon of Walt Disney Studios Park?
there have been permits filed for a building behind frozen which will house batteries for the drones, so it is very likely that drones would be included in the show. there are also rumours that they bought the Tokyo disneysea barges from their Fantasmic show. furthermore, on the concept art there are fountains shown, so maybe something similar to world of color at dca. these three things are currently the rumours for the nighttime show.
I believe Fantastic is expected to go in the lagoon. Fatasmic barges from the former fatasmic over in tokyo is backstage in Tokyo Disney land.
That info is being guarded, as the don’t begin work on a show like that until a year out from opening. And the lake will be ready by end of 2024. So I would expect to hear more about that by the end of this year.
7:07 I hope most of all that this is true
Alllly thinks it’s 100% lion king and she’s not been wrong before however most would want Avatar
I covered both, and if it’s Lion King that’s cool too, I just am skeptical of how the land could actually work thematically.
Please keep Star Wars out of Discoveryland!
Don't they already have Festival Of The Lion King at one of the parks?
I think a Star Wars expansion in whatever capacity is a no-brainer 🤷♂️
Avatar and cars land would be my first choices. I feel like a Lion king water ride would be better in adventure land
There may have been some backlash re Star Wars GE but when i visited recenly, the area is packed everyday and the theming is amazing. The only issue is the lack of characters in the land considering how many characters you see in Avengers Campus.
Love your videos love the t shiet is there anywhere we could get one
If they move Star Wars all to DLP, I wouldn't mind an Avatar land with a unique Flight ride in Hollywood Studios! Would fit in well.
They better make a star wars themed area because they hyped up many people with that on the posters in studios if they decide to scrap the plan they will disappoint a lot of fans in my opinion
