Tabitha’s style is goals! Simple yet elegant and put together.... trendy yet doesn’t scream “look at me”.... she should do a fashion line....she would be successful having a clothing brand.
Holy Smokes! She makes me wanna become hair Stylist! I'm not even kidding! I've done 2 haircuts in my life and they came out awesome. She makes her profession addictive. And AND,,,, the skills she helps us all focus on are so transferable to most any profession! Thank you "T"!
I feel the same way as well. Sometimes I just want to get a scissors and start cutting? This is a woman who loves her job and she never works a day in her life.
I went to get my hair tried yesterday at a hair salon chain.... Not a full hair cut, just to trim off the dead ends. And for the first time ever I had a full consultation, like what Tabitha shows
My worse hair cuts came for high end salons. They were snotty, rushed, stopped receiving education...etc. my favorite hair cuts came from the $15-$25 walk in salons. Always good service, always exactly what I wanted if not better...cause they listened. My sister took my to a salon that charged $50 to get a consultation... and she spent about $130 on the cut and color and it was awful. Blotchy, choppy, no volume. It took a hair student to fix it for $10 bucks. Lol
Great suggestions Tabatha! Another great tip for increasing your prices, is to let your clients know that you've gotten a raise or a promotion, therefore your prices will be increasing to reflect that. Most clients will rejoice with you that your benefiting from a raise, so it's an effective way to increase your price point on services!
LOL! Now real world...I love to hear this and she’s not wrong (oppression is real) in fact, I’ve said it many times...however, applying this advice in an actual small town hair salon is truly an uphill battle. The 1st (regular for years) rich, retired business owner (multiple houses in different states) color client I had today that I raised the price on by $9 (yet getting a senior and cash discount of $15 off the regular $115 price) because the cost of business in New York State went up...wanted to know how could she get back to a lower price for her services?!? Prices go up at grocery stores, etc. BUT raise the price at a salon/spa and all hell breaks loose. 😂 #practicevstheory
While I was in school I worked the front desk at a salon and realized there are two kinds of hair dressers. One will ask "How would you like your hair?" And give them the haircut, even if it's bad and say things like "it's what they asked for". The other will ask questions and make suggestions on what they think would look best on the client and was usually much more successful.
When I have a new client in my chair and she can't exactly tell me what she wants, I just say, "Tell me what you DON"T want" that usually gets them more talkative!
She got it exactly right! I have had haircuts on more occasions than I can count where it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t what I wanted.. I said I wanted to grow the length out and they cut 1/2 inch or more off!
maybe im incrorrect here, but i think she is slightly wrong at her comment at 2:09. I would imagine that its the second visit that makes a client determine if they will be a repeat/permanent customer. i can only speak for myself, but all stylists that care at all will go above and beyond the first time. Only great barbers or stylists will go above and beyond the second haircut which shows that they will do so every time you are in their chair.
I have a question that maybe someone can answer...what is expected tip wise, is it a certain percentage of the total cost or just a couple bucks...I usually give five bucks unless they were really awful...and yes, I've had that hairdresser who told me all her problems with her husband and it was a crazy story and it stressed me out...I think she thought she get a lot of sympathy and I'd tip her big...and it worked! I did feel bad for her but at the same time I felt manipulated and stressed out by all her drama.
My friend is a hairdresser and I always paid her cut, and color around $100. That was included as her tip as well. Some of her other friends really screwed her out of a lot of money and she was so good to them. Shame on them though!
BOOM! Especially on the cost of doing business. Please do shift hairdressers!!! For the good of all. Our industry creates slaves if your priorities are not right but you can all be free, your choice.

2020 and still valuable information
I love tabatha....♡♡

Great video, I’ve been a Lic. Massage Therapist for over 23yrs, & I haven’t gone up on my prices in almost 16yrs, this just what I needed to hear.🥰
Me to since 2001. I needed it too.
The BEST advice I've heard in a while. Thank you
Tabatha, you are great and beautiful thank you so much for all the info, God bless you
They need to bring tabatha to the uk

It's called "qualifying the customer". I used it to sell flooring - amazing concept.

I want to take her matrix consultation class, yes pls, all the way from NZ ❤

That approach would be so much easier than trying to explain what we hope to look like when we walk away
I love it.
This goes for massage therapy as well.
Smart Lady!!!

Thank you Tabitha.
The nice thing about my profession is we talk about EVERY thing
Good point Tabatha
Great job!!!
GOOD ADVICE
Love the advice. Tabitha your legendary
I like tabathas philosophy on retention

I think it's highly debatable, and could be different from person to person. Very good point that you raised though
Good questions by the interviewer
how is tabatha not aging?
Plastic surgery and a ton of botox. If I had the money I'd do the same! 👍
@@shazambrose3091 She doesn't look like she had anything done on Relative Success, so I don't think that's it.
@@ediapaff8858 No she has..she fully admits it. It's nothing to be ashamed of either. I would do it if I had the money to keep doing it. 😄
@@shazambrose3091 really?! oh my :/ maybe she needs another appointment then hahaha
@@ediapaff8858 🤣😂
1st impressions good point
you are amazing
I have been trying to ask , whether Tabther Coffee knows of a GOOD hair salon in Melbourne Victoria Australia?? Michele
The sound on this is SO POOR. Just a warning to beware when ads blast, if youre wearing earbuds
Love her !
Put down the Coffee ! And please say “right” with your Aussie accent I know Americans say “right”, everything else is spot on binge watch your show!
Fucking Gets It, Tabatha!!! Show me whom I can trust to my locks around here, it has BEEN ROUGH! 77583 TX
Other good point about my job prices change anytime like how cops pay quadruple
And they can earn lower prices depending on their plan
For example a group charge if I read for 3 v 1
Never had a real stylist charge for a consultation

I had enough of millionars..she said to me this is what I want... I'm only a hairdresser, not plastic surgeon

No compete contracts very interesting is what they are lol
My stylist is the best i need to go pay her for not booking regular
Costs go up especially if they block your business like nick and his 2 girlfriends owe for

vista se melhor e fale menos...suave!
I love her but she scares the poop out of me!
The wannabes want to know how to charge more and they set their own prices
Good point Tabatha made you don't charge celebs more just assuming they're rich
She might be a good businesswoman, but not very adventures. She has had the exact same hair colour and style for the last 10 years.
if it aint broken....................
But that's why she's 👑 iconic ✨
Why give up what works?!?!?
If it worked for steve jobs.
That's her signature look! And she looks great
