Well, I think I'm really late for this. In fact, my friend just introduced me to this band this summer, and this dude is dead for 9 years. And still, after I fell in love with their music and started to research everything I could find of this band, The Rev's death broke my heart the most. It is silly, since I didn't even know he existed until 9 years after his death, I never met him or anyone else of A7X. But this makes me cry like a little child, just as if I lost a good friend. When I listened to "So far away" the first time after knowing its meaning, I rushed to my boyfriend hugged him and said "Please never do anything that could take you away from me. Please stay alive." Avenged Sevenfold is in fact the first band ever that makes me cry just by listening to their songs, feeling as if I was at a concert and giving me an awesome ride through all emotions existing. And now I miss a drummer I never heard of when he was still alive.
Jimmy was actually quite shy, believe it or not! Earlier days would have been misleading to believe since he was living the crazy rockstar life with loads of energy, but he was actually quite reserved and socially awkward. ❤️

I checked myself out of rehab in April 2009 to got see Avenged Sevenfold the consular told i was making the biggest mistake of my life i told that fucker that may be the case but i feel going to see this band is more important to me at this point JIMMY THE REV SULLIVAN died in December of that year i was so glad i had the chance to go see them and the original lineup for the first time FUCKING NO REGRETS BABY FOR REAL so glad i made that desicion because I got to meet the band with the help of JACOBY SHADDIX and all of them were the coolest nicest respectful and thankful that I was able to come see them litterally one of the best days of my life and the REV was such a goofball in a good way ill never forget how hard he made all of us laugh i really felt like I had lost a family member when i found out about his passing because we struggled with the same demons in opiate addiction we all lost a great compassionate caring human being he told me to always keep my head up no matter what I could get through anything with a positive attitude i just wish I would have been able to help him like he helped me that day

I'm back ten years later and still really enjoy watching this. It was sad hearing jimmy talk about dimebag saying it's a tragedy when he passed and the whole band was affected by it. It's so horrible it had to happen to rev and it hit a7x and the fans pretty hard. I still remember finding out and I was pretty shaking by it I was young and a fan of jimmy. I'm glad us fans and especially his family gets to continue to hear jimmy in the music and these kind of videos. His soul lives on in his friends family and music. RIP Jimmy the rev Sullivan.

Honestly, Jimmy Sullivan has been my hero since I was 8 and when I came to that part, I started bawling my eyes out. It hurts so much to know that he is gone. Even if I didn't personally know him he encouraged me to live my life when I felt like I couldn't anymore.

What I appreciate most about A7X is just how they just give so much variety, every album is different and special. They brought back guitar solos, and sick ones at that. Although ill admit that I don't agree with some of Matts new vocals, the band in the end to me is the best. The only haters are " true metal fans" that are single minded about their "true metal" but pay no attention to these little punks. Their words are worthless period. Just appreciate what you like.
