I've had my 4XL since launch and the battery is better then my 3XL ever was. If you want to know usage, I can push it to roughly 8 hours of SOT, or sometimes 17 hours of usage with 5.5 hours of SOT. So pretty great I'd say.
I’m easily getting 6-7 hours SOT with forced 90hz. I also work underneath the airport so it drains a bit faster constantly looking for signal. Still impressed, took about 3-4 days for adaptive battery to adjust.

I am sooo bummed it doesn't have a fingerprint reader. Wouldn't it be awesome if they came out with a Pixel 4a that had a fingerprint reader instead of that worthless radar gimmick?
If you used the phone you'd know the radar isn't a gimmick. Love the fact it knows when I'm reaching for it, love the fact the alarm lowers when i go to grab the phone and I actually like the changing music tracks with swiping especially when it's in my car dock... NOT a gimmick.
@@PodiumTuningRacing you cant change tracks on your steering wheel ? or use hey google next track/stop alarm without waving your arms around ? Gimmick .
@@mikldude9376 Yea because every car in the world has that option... No. I don't have that option, I use a Bluetooth adapter and connect my phone so I can listen over my speakers, so back to my own experience, I use this feature a ton. I wish the pixel was $700 instead of $800. The display is irresistible especially at 90 Hz coupled with OLED but I’m not sure whether to buy a p4 and which one to buy the regular or XL.
According to Jon P. From Front Page Tech, The Pixel 4 line will have a huge decrease in price starting Black Friday. Jon is very reputable. The price drop will solve many problems with this phone.
coming from the nexus one (yeah was still using it) i went for the 3axl really want google to do an 8 inch tablet in the same style as the pixel c, that tab was great but an 8 inch would be alot easier to take out in a bag for a day.
Hey Tim, I got the 4xl yesterday. OK, I've been comparing it to my s10+. Displays? Well the 90hz is very nice but to be honest my s10+ has a brighter & better display at 60hz? This surprised me with all the hoop-la the 90hz has gotten, to me it's no big deal. Speed wise there pretty equal. The pixal at times is a tad faster. But I am enjoying both very much. I think the release price on the pixal should have been what I paid 599.oo?
Questions to the Americans in here: Will I be able to buy an unlocked Pixel in a physical store when I go to the US, or is it online through Google only?
You can buy in person at tmoble, Sprint, Att, and Verizon stores but likely will only be able to get the 64gb model. I know Target and Walmart sell them but maybe only on their website. Best Buy sells them in person too
The color oh so orange of Pixel 4 xl is incredible. The back glass might get scratches as it is made of glass. So I ordered a full body screen protector from gadgetshieldz.com
The back side looks like some kind of a Ikea furniture. And the orange colour button looks ugly on the black background. They could have put a speaker on the bottom bezel and make the top and bottom bezel sizes equal. I mean, symmetry, people. We are programmed to like symmetry.
It's ok to bash this Pixel. Reviewers are helping customers by doing this because Google really failed this year. It was so dumb to not include the main features that customers asked. Even the most important which is the battery. For that price it's really stupid. If reviewers and customers don't bash Google for this then they're going to continue making average phones at high prices which doesn't compete with other flagship manufacturers.
Too many cons for me , just barely adequate battery life in medium use is not good enough in 2019 , and Jerry rigs review showing build quality is an eye opener .
It feels like every reviewer just regurgitates the same things about every phone. I'm getting a little burned out with trying to find a fresh and honest perspective. Note...This is not a commentary on Tim specifically but an observation of most RUclips tech reviewers in general.
I think you said it perfectly, the price makes it hard to recommend. I don't think lowering it $150 is enough though, especially if you currently have a Pixel 3 like I do... I need this phone to drop down to around $500 for me to consider changing out my P3...
You are right on the money, Google is going the way of Apple, we know better than what you need or want, got rid of the 3.5 jack, no expandable storage, no wide angle camera, extremely high price, small battery no 4k 60 FPS, I miss the Google of yesteryear and the line of Nexus phone, Motorola has a quad camera phone for $350 bucks!!! Come on Google, get with the program. Hey Tim, I notice those guns are getting bigger.
I agree. Phones at the $900 price range have insane hardware and decent software such as the Galaxy phones. Decent because despite the bloatware, they're still good phones. Google are trying to give you a phone that makes up for the lack of hardware with software but they fail at it. All Google's software does is take better photos.....and you can wave your hand in front of it. The stock Android experience isn't even unique anymore now that OnePlus semi copies it. For $900 the software better clean my house for me and pay my bills.
Stock doesn't means its always good for example Google chrome sucks because it has tons of ads. I prefer brave browser Vpn can help in blocking ads but it also drains battery and pixel 4xl battery isn't the biggest for a start The youtube app has tons of annoying ads too Other than these the phone is fluid

@@tribbeh Could I ask you another thing? What can you tell me about the brightness of the display outside under the sun? ('cause the battery and display's brightness are the only two ambiguous facts that i'm considering before to buy it).
@@gabrielebotta3924 In direct sunlight if I max the brightness, I can read the screen. The only comparison point I have is the 3XL and it is brighter then that phone. I'd say that the screen on the 4XL is usable is direct sunlight though.
A company can focus on software all it wants, but at the end of the day, it’s the consumer who knows what the product should have and should not have.🤔 #marketresearchfailure
You only think you know what you want because Samsung, Apple and the rest have shoved it in your face and told you that's what you need.
@@jdp117 and Google is doing the same thing.
If it had 128gb minimum and a 4000 MAH battery starting at £550 they would sell like hotcakes
How would you compare the stills to a P30 Pro camera stills?
I don't own the phone but there is something I like about it
Good review
I'm still hanging on to my Pixel 2XL because the camera is so amazing. Any ideas which phone I should get if I'm unwilling to get a worse camera?
Pixel 4!
@@roywilson1504 Maybe. The poor battery and high price is a bit daunting.
And as far as saying hey Google to turn off the alarm, simply reaching over is best since my wife is literally next to me so screaming at my phone isn't an option. Far from a gimmick, you're trying to tell me and I'm the one with the phone, not you. Get it yourself and form your own opinions instead of following everyone else, sheep.
why is your NFC toggle disabled on your quick toggle list?
I wish the pixel was $700 instead of $800. The display is irresistible especially at 90 Hz coupled with OLED but I’m not sure whether to buy a p4 and which one to buy the regular or XL.
Idont even live in USA ilive in africa. Idont even have money to buy this phone but really love listing to you bro big love ♥️
LG v50 now that's a true flagship phone
I have an iPhone 11 and idk Apple is starting to become a broken record to me. Should I take the dive again (I once used a note 5) with pixel?
According to Jon P. From Front Page Tech, The Pixel 4 line will have a huge decrease in price starting Black Friday. Jon is very reputable. The price drop will solve many problems with this phone.
coming from the nexus one (yeah was still using it) i went for the 3axl
really want google to do an 8 inch tablet in the same style as the pixel c, that tab was great but an 8 inch would be alot easier to take out in a bag for a day.
I love my Pixel.....
Which one u have?
Kween jade 4XL 128
Best Buy sells them in person too
@@roywilson1504 Thanks!
No iphone 11 review?
Coming soon!
I feel like google went a bit backwards with this one.
Apple is now listening to consumers about lowering the price and updating old iphones..
google: “fk u consumers”
The color oh so orange of Pixel 4 xl is incredible. The back glass might get scratches as it is made of glass. So I ordered a full body screen protector from gadgetshieldz.com
So basically wait for a black Friday sale and don't pay 999.00 for this phone because it's not worth 999
The back side looks like some kind of a Ikea furniture. And the orange colour button looks ugly on the black background. They could have put a speaker on the bottom bezel and make the top and bottom bezel sizes equal. I mean, symmetry, people. We are programmed to like symmetry.
So what phone is better? And don't say iPhone 11
Mi 9T Pro, Realme X2 Pro, Galaxy S10, pretty much any other flagship
Another pixel 4 bashing video.
It seems to be the thing to do for RUclips reviewers now days
It's ok to bash this Pixel. Reviewers are helping customers by doing this because Google really failed this year. It was so dumb to not include the main features that customers asked. Even the most important which is the battery. For that price it's really stupid. If reviewers and customers don't bash Google for this then they're going to continue making average phones at high prices which doesn't compete with other flagship manufacturers.
Because you don't agree doesn't mean it's bashing. Stop being a loser
Too many cons for me , just barely adequate battery life in medium use is not good enough in 2019 , and Jerry rigs review showing build quality is an eye opener .
He looks yummy - I'm subscribing! :)
It feels like every reviewer just regurgitates the same things about every phone. I'm getting a little burned out with trying to find a fresh and honest perspective.
Note...This is not a commentary on Tim specifically but an observation of most RUclips tech reviewers in general.
there's only so much to say about a phone
The Beck gesture work you just have to swipe down at a angle
Swiping down at an angle is so inconvenient. It's really a gamble to open a side drawer most of the time.
3:25 its actually an amoled display not poled
All OLED displays are both POLED and AMOLED. To be more accurate it should be called PAMOLED.
I think you said it perfectly, the price makes it hard to recommend. I don't think lowering it $150 is enough though, especially if you currently have a Pixel 3 like I do... I need this phone to drop down to around $500 for me to consider changing out my P3...
Wallpaper?
Waiting for the 4a xl with ultrawide
Link fo the wallpaper plzz 😁👍
Its simply put google charges for an experience other manufacturers charge for specc's which should you get depends on the person
If Google just wanna focus on software so much, then screw the $900 price point.
Heck, this phone isn't even worth $700.
Anyone asks themselves where he takes all this phones I mean he could do giveaways with all this phones
Which is your favorite camera phone?
Upgrade to Pixel 4 XL from 3 XL or 3A XL or just stick to the 3 XL? Let me know in the comments section below
I'd definitely stick with the 3XL unless you're rich.
My goal is to get it Black Friday Best buy $400 off. If I'm not able to get it I'll get note + or just simply wait for next year's phone
Beast.
Stock doesn't means its always good for example Google chrome sucks because it has tons of ads. I prefer brave browser
Vpn can help in blocking ads but it also drains battery and pixel 4xl battery isn't the biggest for a start
The youtube app has tons of annoying ads too
Other than these the phone is fluid
Video should show more mobile phones than yourself
I thought I had an ant on my screen...
Omar Plumey lol
Design is great.
You miss ultra wide angle Len?
All RUclipsrs who review the phones are now really corrupted!
Stop your yapping
You have convinced me that I missed absolutely nothing having walked away after not being happy with the original Pixel XL. I'll wait for the feature packed Samsung S11/11+ Great honest review Tim.
