not rlly, it's actually different. soo this kid named Sakura was sleeping and then she had a dream. in the evening, she saw a book that was making noise. she opened it and all the clow cards flew out, and the guardian of the clow cards, Kerberos, came out. later in the story, this kid called Syaoran came to Japan. Syaoran's ancestor is the character who created the cards, Clow. he was also collecting the Clow Cards, and he tried to steal the cards from Sakura and failed. they kept collecting the clow cards, some Syaoran got and the rest Sakura got. later in the story, this guy named Yue which is another guardian of the clow cards, and he is the true form of Yukito. he battled them, and in the end, Sakura won and got all the cards, and she became the master of the clow cards. then, her wand to collect the clow cards changed. her wand was made from the power of the Stars. she soon figured out that the clow cards would die if she didn't change them into Sakura Cards. then, this guy named Eriol moved in. soon, strange incidents began to happen around Japan. she got through all of them, and soon the final battle began. Eriol was the villain. Sakura won, and Eriol revealed his identity, and why he was here. he was actually Clow, the creator of the cards, and he was trying to help her get all the cards. watch the anime on Netflix to get more info, it's about 70 episodes long. also, that wasn't just the backstory, that was the entire story without all the other info.
