- In this video I attempt to explain to you what the current version of Creed's Aventus smells like in 5 varying levels of difficulty: Noob, Novice, Average, Advanced and finally Pro which took quite a few days of research to get and I hope I got it right.
Special thank you to:
@AaronTerenceHughes
@babbscollection
and @scentuality3377
for helping create the content that made the 'Pro' tier possible.

Ok this just went from "Mummy, I got a gold star from Miss Johnson today for reading out the whole Alphabet in front of the whole class" to "I recently wrote a research paper during my 3rd PHD Degree which is getting published in the next Academic Journal of which I'm being nominated for a Nobel Prize" real quick.
I love this comment so much.
In a world of 'Top tens', comes in George with a 'Let me explain'. Good idea.
He’s come up with a bunch of the formats people spam today
I think this is is one of the best video the frag community ever had. Period.
Cheers lad. 🙏
That was fun - you've carved out your niche in fragcomm. The educational stuff is what brought me to this channel in the first place. Thanks, King George.
I prefer making these types of videosTBH
@@TheFragranceApprentice It's something different and needed. Clever using the "List" motif to do something educational. Excellent.
That comment deserves a crown cape ans scepter episode.
Please do more of these for other niche fragrances, your on to something with this style of video. I've never seen this before and am completely captivated 😄
*Dallas watches whole video*
“… So it was a top 5 video?”
After your pro description I was thinking, “Dang! Does Aventus treat Covid?”
😂
This is incredible, and honestly makes me appreciate Aaron’s review approach so much more. Because to mix the pro stuff into his ability to describe to (around a) novice level is incredible.
ATH after hearing the Pro description of Aventus: That boy spittin 🔥
🤣
What i took away from this: Aaron Terrance Hughes is like a 4.5 in his videos
I agree though, but think he (ATH) could be more ‘Average’ in his delivery and say more about why he likes it on an artistic and less mechanical sense.
Some bonus info on Aventus. Perfumer is Jean-Christoph Herault. Aventus uses a very unique captive musk. The pineapple note is inspired by years of experimentation done by Herault’s guru, the legendary perfumer Pierre Bourdon.
Thank you very much George for this wonderful video. Yes we want more of this. I’m sick and tired of top 10s. I’m starting to unsubscribe from most of the fragrance channels I used to follow. You are a breath of fresh Mellisime Imperial.
Or milestone 🤷♂️
What can be done to bring back the magic of these creations. Bourdon was brilliant, and they've diluted his craft.
Watched this several times over the last month. Great video! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
More like this please! This was really fun to watch and learn a few things I didn't know I wanted to know.. Glad your coming back.
Absolutely loved this format, so informative 👏 When I was younger I used to watch 'How It's Made' so not surprised that I am fascinated by the conplex work that goes into making an amazing fragrance!
This is absolutely intriguing, I love this kind of depth into the fragrance world. Thank you George!
Oh man I loved the last part, it was really interesting knowing that you had this knowledge around this fragrance. As I tried to make some fregrances as a hobbyist I really appreciated this.
Pure Gold👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. As mind numbing as the pro explanations was, I truly enjoyed it 👌🏾
This is a very interesting video concept! One of the most informational fragrance video I have watched, great work friend.
Great informative video. Very well thought out. Great job, just like your short film.... 100% awesome🎉
GREAT one, George!! I’d love to see ATH go through the pro version with you! Great job; enjoyed this one- and I would LOVE to see more of these 5 levels from you!
Helpful, thanks!
This is why you're my favorite crazy frag man. I loved this. More like this please!
I've been watching fragrance videos for years and that video will get stuck in my mind for a long time, I don't remember when was the last time I've watched something that's so different and educational but still so interesting to watch, thank you for that.
This was an absolutely amazing video! Thank you so much. Love the Advanced and Pro segments. You my friend are AMAZING!
Bra! Did not expect this but i enjoyed this. Lookung forward for more
Wow I am very impressed! Incredible knowledge. Thank you 🙏🏼
Definitely enjoyed this including the pro level. Very interesting and informative. More please.
I would absolutely love to see this become a series. While there is really no reason to go past the normal level, I enjoyed those upper two levels. I especially loved like taking out this and putting in this and you could potentially come up with this. I really thought that was cool.
We are so happy to have you back! I would like to see this breakdown for creed Royal oud as well
This was some big brain shit! Absolutely loved it. This fragrance educational stuff is a big part of why I love the channel. I would love to see this type of concept but describing the subtle differences between the 3 Bleu de Chanel flankers. Glad you are back full time. Cheers!
Amazing video, you made us feel we were chemists for a moment. Fantastic content as always, more please
I sincerely hope to see more videos like this. keep up the good work
I'm definitely in the average category borderlining on advanced since I've been reading a lot on perfume history and blending in the past year but man, this was a fantastic ride. Thank you for this enlightening video!
I loved the video , and yes I would love to see you explain other fragrances like that
Interesting! ...Thank you! Keep it up!
George, thank you for taking the time to do this! What an interesting breakdown of Creed Aventus composition at all the relevant levels.
What a great video of how to explain the smell of Aventus, your discriptions are so on point.
This is a great idea for a video series! Looking forward to more of these 🙂
100% more of this please!! As an analytical chemist, I genuinely enjoyed the more technical breakdown of the fragrance
Great video and I enjoyed it and Creed Aventus is a 10 out of 10 in my opinion and have a blessed night
Seriously impressed! I would love if you did a series of educational videos about essential oils and aromachemicals!
This was so good I just started playing around with trying to make my own frags so this is some good info to have
Well mate, you just created one of the most interesting review of a fragrance ever. And the advanced and pro descriptions being the parts making this video stand out.
And inadvertently created a style of video you should do once per month on a popular fragrance.
Hi, George! Good to see you back. I greatly enjoyed seeing a fragrance broken down like this. Please continue this trend.
Absolut fantastic hands down love this vid
I loved the last one!
I play with making perfumes and have almost all the ingredients you listed sans the damascones.
Fun stuff! Thanks for the hard work.
I originally followed your work for the cinematography present in your perfume videos, essentially you were making art.
That being said, we all gotta make money and I hope whatever angle you take is the one that keeps you afloat.
Cheers to more videos.
Very nice initiative! I say: Go! There's an unlimited amount of frags you could explain. Thumbs up!
I agree with all the comments, this is a banging idea & a great niche for you. Loved it through & through. Add a couple of swearing at Chris bits in here & it’s pure gold
I think this is a fantastic and refreshingly new concept for a fragrance review! Although u mentioned this one not doing well in a later video, I think it could possibly catch on as u go thru some of the more popular fragrances
I know this did not do as well as you would have wanted, but man this is great! I really do hope it does better with time, and that you make more videos akin to this
Loved the video, both the idea and the content.. Would love the same breakdown of Acqua Di Gio EDT.
Excellent video, George. You should do a video on brands with and not worth the money.
Very interesting. Please make a series of videos, using this approach.
George. Mate. You’ve outdone yourself again. Wow. Thank you 🙏🏻
Brilliant video buddy! I was fine until Pro kicked in! ha ha - i love the concept of the video and have learnt a lot - thank you
I love the idea of this as a series - I love learning the technical side.
You definitely need some wardrobe at least for the last phase - a lab coat in front of a white board covered with fragcom in-jokes about the scent would be hilarious.
Hell ya. Missed your content
As a chemist, I appreciate the pro explanation 👌
Top shelf video. You may become the Fragrance Professor sooner than later. 😉👍
I love recieving notification from youtube saying a new video from you is out, three videos in almost three days? We are so lucky!
damn that was a wonderful progression on explaining a fragrance
One of your best.
Great concept. Totally original. And that’s saying something.
Wow.. really out of the ether with this. Great concept for a series, and wondering if MI is going to be the last of this series when we see it as well :0
I like this style of video. There is something for everyone at any level.
Definitely dug this heavily! Super educational as well! 10/10!
Hello George, this is by far the most precise explanation given of what Aventus really smells like. In the mid it smells like Blackcurrant icecream to my nose.. lol.. BTW I personally love the OAKMOSS & Ambergris mix in the drydown. :)
When you went into advanced territory, that's when I started vibing with the video so I know that's where I'm at. Definitely not in the pro area, but I like the historical stuff, the influential aspects, and then some of the pro stuff like the molecular level stuff is very interesting to me but I mainly have speculative knowledge on that. Really good video though, I think this type of video has been done before but not in a way that's resonated with me as much as this one did where I feel like this actually is representative of the different levels of fragrance enthusiasm.
This is brilliant!
Much more like this please!
Amazing video! And I still haven't smelled this one!
Nice video!
This was really fun
The Pro part of the iceberg is definitely Aaron Terrance Hughes territory...great video
Make more like this, absolutely awesome to watch Someone describing a fragrance in more than the usual note/pyramid breakdown, like ATH does it!
Also I would like to discuss that there most likely is Ambroxan mixed with Musk or a special Captive in Aventus, as well as Timbersilk, probably mixed in low Quantities with the majority Iso-E Super, and finally probably Hedione and some kind of Aldehyde is in there as well.
Bro just told us the whole aventus formula. Was not expecting that
SERIES! SERIES! SERIES!
Gotta connect with you. Literally the king of perfumes
I enjoyed this video. It's refreshingly different. I'd watch more.
Bloody hell! Best Aventus review till now :)) 👍
Super well said
I dont know what to say. Just when i thought i know all there is about Aventus (given a decant and all the other videos by typical youtubers) here you come with information i never thought id need nor appreciate. Great content George and i do hope the likes would catch on as this is really awesome content. It might be safe to go with another popular fragrance like BR540 or maybe oud wood to get people to notice and be more informed. Great work George
Apprentice just lowkey flexed 💪 on all us. I feel a mixture of 4 drops of shame from my lack of knowledge, 6 drops of excitement from the wealth of information, 7 drops of gratitude for the video and 5 drops of pineapple. Love ur vids bro ☺️👌
Your words lost me at novice but your voice keeps my heart and body forever x
Thanks Babbs! I mean George. 😄 How silly of me. Shout out to Babbs for giving us a peek into the formula. Definitely agree with the ambrox substitution as well as combining vetivol with vertofix. No question about the DHM too. Herault was a distant disciple of Bourdon after all. My guess is that they skipped out on the labdanum and indoles in the modern Aventus. Hyde-y accords in the base don't sell well to bros. 😆
as a chemist I would very much appreciate the Pro explanations in every video :)
As a healthcare scientist, I loved this video. The best dissection of creed aventus. Well done George!
I need more videos like this in my life !!!!! ❤
Do more. This is different, and fun.
I liked this. I’ve smelled aventus a lot and I liked the deeper dives into the small. I don’t think it’s necessary for fragrances I haven’t smelled that often or new fragrances but I liked the deep dive of one of my favorites.
holy shit this video was awesome!
Oh hells yeah, you went all academic as an influencer. Well done and really fascinating! Naturally, you'd have to cover Dior Homme (Original) and Intensse too, good sir.
i do like the "advanced" approach, It makes anyone who is in fragrances for a while confident what to expect from fragrance he never smelled before
The apprentice is on the grind again, and i flipping love it
This just set the bar. The new standard
I really enjoyed this. I think of perfumers as game developers. They both need to be highly technical and artistic at the same time. But the Level 5 showed me that they need to be much more technically skilled then I thought... Still sure George you don't want to try this perfume making thing? I think you are getting a great crack at this. Cheers.
Yet another pure example of the name 'Apprentice' and not just another top 10 with review with a person sitting in front their 200 bottle collection. Well done.!
Bring more educational pieces AND a mini documentary on your experience working at Creed. ✌🏾
love this
stunning, great job, of course we want moar
More like this please, George!
Yay more regular videos.
