    Great explanation, I have just one question it makes me confused , since entropy or variance .. are just one number how could you plot an image and say this is an entropy or variance.. of this image . Can you please help me understand this point . Thank you

      We are calculating entropy or variance at every pixel by applying a kernel around the pixel. So this is basically a local entropy calculation and not a global entropy for the entire image.
