Have The CRT ABANDONED This Canal? Narrowboat Cruise to Aylesbury - 466

- Today we set off in a rush, as we made the mistake of mooring in between two locks in a very short pound. The pound had almost completely drained, we had to get through this pound before it was too late, it was however a very lovely sunny morning although, this would not last as there was a weather front coming in later on in the day, so we we're in a rush against time to get to Aylesbury before the rain set in, but with 14 locks in our way, that would be hard. But then we reach a section of the very quiet Aylesbury branch that looks at first glance to be navigable. Would we even make it to Aylesbury?

Great video as usual. Loved the boat with the yellow hull, different 😅
Some serious work needs to be done on our waterways, but CRT seem to ignore or bring in contractors. Wish they would go back to employing their own people instead of paying hundreds to contract out 😠
That's the trouble Jan they pay so much money our to contractors they could save a fortune by employing their own staff.😊
Great video Guy's love the Dragon flies, have a great week ahead 😀
Thanks Chris you too ❤
Your good at the locks your mum is brilliant at steering you make a great team love watching you both God bless
Thank you Janice. What a lovely comment ❤
Well Josh I thought those locks would never end. The basin was lovely, the weed didn’t affect your prop! The flowers on the front of the boat are so pretty!
Thank Andy for the flowers. Every year he does the boxes at the front of Olive and they always look lovely. He loved his garden in the cottage 😊
Lovely scenery along the Aylesbury arm and at least there was somewhere to turn. Can’t believe that narrow bit!
The Aylesbury arm was very pretty. We loved it.😊
We went down the Aylesbury arm last year , beautiful canal and remember going through that section with the reeds, but it widens out again, it’s one of those canals that doesn’t have a lot of traffic but well worth doing x
It's a beautiful arm and we loved it.😊

Take care
You too Carol 😊
Blimey you should get a Gold propeller navigating through that lot !!
Luckily it's a very quiet canal. It probably would have been a bit of a problem if a boat came the other way 😊
Thankyou
GG says woof to all the pets abound
Long time no hear. Meow meow back from the kitties 😸
If you ever see magnet fishers. Always check to see if they have found a lock key(windless)
Good idea we will in future 😊
Glad you made it out of the low pound. It was even lower when we tried to leave the arm, and it took a couple of hours to fill enough. We happened to speak to the owner of the yellow hulled boat - he explained that because the hull had 2-pack protection he could paint it any colour he wanted, and the yellow was going very cheap that day.
Wow that's interesting I thought blacking had to be black😊
Nah then, ey up me ducks.
Can't believe the state of that section of canal. Surely the CRT know how bad it is so why they can't divert funding to places like that where it's needed more I don't know.
Anyroad, ay a good'un guys 🙂
Despite the reeds it's a lovely arm to cruise😊
See what you have done now you mentioned the Sharpness & Gloucester and the heavens have opened, all your fault all this rain🤪rotfl
😂😂😂
Not maintained at all.....
I know but it is a beautiful little arm. We loved it.😊
