You are a girlie girl inside. I see it and hear it. I think that the so called pretty girls make you feel a certain way.
You are a beautiful black woman and I can see that you have grown in the last six months. I am enjoying your progress. Don’t let those negative thoughts take over.
Find you a personal assistant and start speaking positive words. You are living a good live. Don’t stop. I am watching you grow. Thanks for sharing.

PCOS can cause insulin resistance. I have had PCOS since I was a kid but just got diagnosed last year. Most doctors just blamed my weight on all the symptoms (Dark patches, excessive body hair, irregular period etc etc) but it was PCOS all along.

Everything you said is true. I've been on my PCOS health journey since February of 2018. I ended up becoming insulin resistant. Had to have endometriosis scraped out of my womb in May of 2018. I have been through it all. I'm happy to say in 2023 I am doing a lot better. ❤ I advocated for myself and finally found a primary care physician, an endocrinologist, a gynecologist, a diabetic / bariatric dietitian, who is helping me manage this.

@@lovingtiffani I'm so happy you found a team that supports you! It's amazing to hear that you are doing so well in managing PCOS. I always tell other people that It's so important to find doctors that 1. believe PCOS is real 2. Support, listen and respect Black and brown women and our bodies and 3. really advocate and support you as a patient. I've spent the last year really advocating for myself and doing so much research on my pcos to start healing

@@mRzChErRyIzDaNaMe I'm happy you were able to get your diagnosis. People don't realize how complicated PCOS is and all the ways it affects us. From energy levels and excessive hair to mental health issues like being more likely to experience anxiety and depression. It can be a very difficult endocrine disorder. Hoping you are healing and thriving!

Hi Jemima, I get your frustration with the doctors. I had the same issue, my doctor had no clue how to help me with my weight issuse either and possibly developing type 2 diabetes. So I did my own research and watched youtube doctors talk about insulin resistant, started fasting, and lost my 1st 80lbs. Now I want to lose another50lbs. I cut back on sugar, no snacks between meals, cut back on processed carbs, sugar etc. When I doctor saw me he said tell me what you've been doing. He said tell me so I can tell my ither patients. They do not teach us this is medical school, that's why I couldn't help you to lose weight. Imagine my face when he said that!!! So I pay you all this money to not help me. Ok. Smh. Keep working at it sis. It's a rough and frustrating journey for sure.

Yes, I’ve noticed when I’m around this man I’m dating I’m all giggly and soft spoken. I noticed it this weekend and was like “ where the heck did that come from” 🤨😂. But when I’m around girls I’m usually the more masculine one.

Hey Jemima! Looking in from the outside and someone that does not know you, you can give masculine vibes - but you also give feminine vibes as well! Maybe you become the protector when it comes to your friends? (Thinking about the haunted house situation). You are a beautiful person - personality and outwardly, so be happy in who you are. Life is too short to stress on what people think how you should be.
We are the same height and I am working on my body too. My personality trait is very feminine and the protective type. That is why I think it’s a personality trait that you should not worry about and it’s not based on your height or weight. We love you for who you are - JUST BE YOU AND CONTINUE YOU TO LOVE WHO YOU ARE!❤

I have a temper and all my family call me when they need someone to fight. I was 5' 11" from 7th grade until I went to college, then I grew an inch, now I'm 6' curvy big girl. My daughter has PCOS... And you are right some doctors are not helpful... but mostly because some are not up to date with the symptoms and treatment... one major symptom is insulin resistance... but it also can show in many other ways... just research it then discuss it with your physician... Keke Palmer has it and her symptoms present very differently than my daughter's...

The masculinity comes out because you've been operating out of your root chakra for so long. Out of balance because you're in constant survival mode. For example, you work, pay all of your bills by yourself, have to figure out everything for your household, and live alone. I would say to help minimize those tendencies, start by receiving. When people give you compliments, instead of finding a flaw or downplaying it, say thank you and move on. When someone wants to treat you to something, say yes. You have to get in the receptive mode as a woman to increase your femininity. I hope this makes sense.
I just subscribed! Been watching you pop up in my other faves videos so I had to come and check you out!

@missjemima, I completely agree with you i was with my ex-husband for 15 years, and when i say there was no feminine energy at all, i mean at all. But i rekindle a relationship with my 1st boyfriend ever from high school, and when i say i am the most softest person, even by the way i speak. I stay in my feminine energy, I mean hell i cook this man breakfast every single morning, and when i say it is the way he makes me feel, the things he says to me, it keeps me there. So it was always in me, unfortunately i wasnt with the right person and im so glad at this stage in my life, i get to experience real love, maturity, honesty, someone who isnt afraid to express how they feel about me in private and in public.

This is so true and I've had the same experience. You really need to be with the right partner to bring it out in you. When I was married I always felt like the "man" in the relationship, or else like I was his mother. I had never felt that way with any other man I'd known before him.

Pcos causes insulin resistance! I was diagnosed when I was 16! Didn’t get a cycle until I was 18 because they started it with bc! Facial hair acne up and down weight, hyperpigmentation, fatigue, depression, lol it causes a lot but since I’ve become an adult I’ve been looking into it! I was started on ozempic for weight loss due to insulin resistance! Since I lost weight my symptoms are some what better my weight loss is consistent and my dark marks are gone since losing the weight! So try that out love it helps! I’m not on bc because it never helped me at all! And get tested for autoimmune disorders to be safe because pcos leads to them also and could be causing some of your problems also

i loved your discussion on masculine/feminine energies! i think we all have a balance, and what we understand as masculine and feminine can change over time for what works for us and can be dependent on so many things. one thing like you said depends on who you're with. i've found myself in similar situations, and i think the sense of safety is definitely a factor. when it comes to men, i expect them to step up and be more protective because they should be aware of how women walk through the world and be ready to defend them against patriarchal violence. and i expect them to step up in order to give me a break from having to be so on guard all the time. but it is hard to find a man that can fulfill that role and be conscious of it in a way that women are automatically (because we are used to constantly assessing our safety in any given situation). when it comes to being around other women, especially if they are more femme presenting, i find myself doing similar things of bringing out my more masc qualities, and i think fatness has something to do with it (aside from me personally being someone who is queer and approaches gender more fluidly). but as a fat woman, i feel like i know all to well what it's like to be ridiculed and even physically violated because i'm fat, being treated as not a 'real' woman but still being taken advantage of as one. i think what happens is since i'm used to having to deal with hostility just because i'm fat, i don't think twice about taking on an aggressive role because i've experienced so many times how it doesn't matter if i'm feminine enough or skinny enough or pretty enough, if people try to violate it's because they want to dominate someone and will look for any excuse.
anyway...i did not expect that to be such a long rant. just wanted to share my thoughts. as always, i appreciate your videos jemima! your frank discussions, especially as it pertains to fatness and desirability, and moving through a world that is hostile to us for no good reason. thank you for being a safe space for the fat girls, always

Praying for balance and alignment for you mentally, spiritually and physically. Sounds like you need an assistant. In addition, it is important to give yourself grace along the journey when your goals and things may not fall in to place as quickly as you planned. Enjoy the journey called life. I assure you the things that we magnify and spend so much time worrying and stressing about will take years off of your life. I never realized that until I got my cancer diagnosis! God has healed me and I move different in my life now. I do not stress about the things that I have no control over I pray to God about it and keep it moving. I create goals to focus on the things that I can change.

PCOS can cause insulin resistance and with pcos you have excess androgens which are more male hormones and cause a masculine type energy. This is why there is excess hair growth or hirsutism ( especially on chin/ facial hair) , lower tone voice, excess belly fat, receeding hair line, broad shoulders, etc just like a man would have with androgens. Not everyone will have these symptoms and pcos affects everyone differently. I was diagnosed in 2012 and I felt masculine at times especially with my female friends. Once I was diagnosed and I did my research a few years later it all made sense as to why I felt masculine at times.

I started a no gluten diet yesterday, and already I have less pain discomfort. I also bought organic fruits and vegetables. Perhaps you might consider watching RUclips videos on positive results from being off of gluten.

Some of the skin treatments you're getting my cause the darkness in the skin I was getting laser hair removal and they would tell me stay out of the sun even if you use sunscreen well I've been noticing certain parts of my face particularly my cheeks like yours were turning a little dark and were about the same complexion just a thought probably cut back on the sun exposure
