I surfed for Greg Noll as a kid . Met him and was really impressed with his congenial attitude and love for surfing. God bless this wonderful icon of the surfing community.
I grew up surfing in the south bay, and on the weekends when it was flat, we'd ride our bikes down to Greg Noll's surf shop in Hermosa beach to check out new boards. He was a legend and a surf hero for us back then. Those were sweet times.
Man, think of how many boards were created in that area of Hermosa: GN, Rick, Bing, lots of shops. Enjoyed trying to skateboard that rough steep asphalt in front of Greg's shop, before urethane wheels arrived in '73, lol ✌️@stokedcreativesfilms5986
What a fearless American...he was a powerful spirit... imagine how sad he was he when he had to stop surfing on that level.. anyone who has ever ridden a wave will never forget
Anyone who was part of the surf craze that hit the California coast around 1963 with the Beach Boys music, Wipeout (the Surfaris) and Jan and Dean is well acquainted with Greg Knoll. He was in the all surfing magazines and in Bruce Brown's surf movies riding Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach.
I surfed with them all .... whitey Harrison, Mickey Munoz, Corky Carrol ,Pete Schroeff...David Nuuhiwa used to ask us groms "how are the waves ?" .....we groms would take turns hopping Pete Townsend @ the pier so we could brag to our friends "I just snaked 🐍 the #1 ranked surfer in the world" 😁 ....but it's with regret I remember Rockin' Fig : we would stumble to his apartment after leaving the "Bear 🐻 " to use his bathroom and always leave a mess - but he also always let us in because : we brought girls 👧
Surfing even on the smallest wave is something no one ever forgets..we all think we rode better than we actually did but it doesn't matter because we were doing something most were afraid to try and could only watch from the beach
@@thcnewsadvance9816 You have titled this video "Surfing legend Greg Noll and what was his cause of death?" but unless I missed something, you did not list cause of death.
@@davidkearnes9623 Mr. Noll died by natural causes, according to an Instagram post from his son's company, Noll Surfboards. Thank you for your feedback sir.

RIP Mr. G. Noll, The first real surfing Legend.
It's the unsung suffers from the past who made it possible for today's surfers. He caught the last wave going home.
The world will miss him.
Thank you for your valuable comment Sir.
FUNKY narration by Computer-Gurl
So, where was the part where his cause of death was revealed!?!? Click-bait (disrespectful to Greg and his fans) thumbs down, no sub.
Try using pictures of him
