  • I’m staying the night as usual at a Net Café in Tokyo, Japan, and for many people these places are just for reading comics or relaxing, but for me they are a lifeline, offering a private booth, all-you-can-eat food, and most importantly a hot bath. Every coin matters when you are trying to support your parents while keeping up the appearance of a successful office worker "salaryman", so this has become my routine and this is how I survive in Tokyo. I work for a small black company in Tokyo that isn’t doing very well, and to save money for my family and pay my debt I live a minimalist life, often sleeping in net cafés or cheap capsules. Life in Japan can be exhausting, but I try to find quiet moments of peace within the struggle.
