this is what happened to me literary 5 min ago :) I heard it on winamp, and remembered it was in this scene, than searched it on youtube :D And here we are :D
This is such a beautiful moment in tv history. It doesn't matter how old I get, I still cry like I did the first time I watched it. That unspoken understanding between them, letting all those pent up emotions come out on the dance floor is just so beautiful to me. It makes zero sense how a show this relatable to so many kids from this generation was canceled after one season. I'll never understand it.
LOVED this scene! To see Ricki getting some form of acceptance from the other kids was an underlined emotion! Growing up in the 90's this song didn't mean anything to me but when I saw the whole season last year...I think of this scene EVERY TIME I hear this song! Just so good!
Probably one of the most iconic scenes in 90s teen shows. Right up there with Jessie Spano's "I'm so excited" crying mess scene on Saved By the Bell lol.
I had to come in here today and watch this again because I was just chatting on Twitter with the gal who played Delia (Senta Moses Mikan), which reminded me how vividly this scene was burned on my brain...so yes, iconic indeed 💃 🕺🏻
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST SCENES IN THE ENTIRE SERIES HANDS DOWN!!!!!! It doesn't get more epic with haddaway's "what is love"? playing in the background!!! man, that is my JAM. Also i heart ricky...so so much
I never really thought Ricky was cute, but the moment he began to dance, it was like the blindfolds came off. This scene was very memorable, I remember the song he dance to also. Its so weird that a show that just had one season was soo popular, and yet it was canceled
LOVE this episode, but isn't it pathetic that I'm STILL mad at Krakow for what he did to Delia? I know it's a just a show (a 20-year-old show nonetheless), but yeah. If he hadn't, though, then these two wouldn't have gotten this victory dance. Perfect ending to a SAD episode.
You may be missing the idea that Krakow was mirroring Angela's relationship to Jordan and the Jock is mirroring the relationship as well. All three of these people are chasing a pretty picture of what they want and not what is right in front of them. The only two authentic people here are Ricky and Delia.
I totally agree. I was mainly referring to the scene where Brian broke Delia's heart, and how upsetting it was to see that. I was also miffed in the bleachers scene when Brian explained and Angela harshly went off on him. So much betrayal in this wonderful show, and you're right: they are the two authentic people. But this great scene is what all the betrayal amounted to. Seeing Rickie express himself without giving any fucks will always stay with me.
I heard this tune today and came here for this specific scene Ricky was the coolest then and now I knew what was up as I had gay friends from elementary school through the present Some of my best memories were being friends with them but especially parties and without a doubt the clubs all night long even past the sunrise Unforgettable
Ricky doesn't fit, he doesn't belong anywhere or to anyone, like he said before this scene, but he always flips table and shows up in her best face, the best of his dignity, like, he won't change no matter what happens. I love this character so much and felt so damn happy seeing him dancing this way with Delia. It prooves you don't need to be like everyone to be happy. Instead, you have to be different to be trully happy with who you are!
nice...some dirty dancing from the '90s.i would probably dance like that, today, only if i were mindless drunk, but that's still the best moment in the entire show...LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fucking Love this Episode this Scene fuck it's Pure 90s Pure Nostalgia music and dance do not excist in this time in the world 🌎 Godamn it I'm 36 seeing this show makes me feel and think it was just yesterday this was on MTV fuck I feel Old
I remember this scene from when I was a kid and always wondered why Sharons boyfriend Kyle is looking at Rikki the way he is. Even looking at Sharons face she doesn't look all that surprised. It's almost like they are implying that Kyle is gay or bi, Sharon secretly thinks/suspects it as well but it was never hinted at or brought up again in the show. Maybe I'm just looking too much into it, but that was my first thought back when it first aired, and can't deny it would have been an interesting story line to explore.
I thought of this too, even back in 94 when I watched it, but only as a minor idea. I think the expression of Sharon while glancing at her boyfriend Kyle, was more about her realizing and being resigned that her relationship with him has become what many relationships become, complacent and predictable yet doesn't mean it's over. But you see Sharon's expression quickly change to being satisfied and happy about Ricky and Delia having fun and showing what the "World Happiness Dance" was supposed to be about. Sharon saw that Ricky and Delia rose above the hard time they had leading up to the dance.
I'm pretty sure if the show didn't get canceled that the jock guy Sharon was with going to end up hooking up with Ricky and come out as gay. Becoming a huge scandal.
Oh my god, why couldn't I have been a teenager at this time?!?! This generation is so self centered :P I love this show so much. Definitely one of the best scenes haha
When's the last time you saw someone actually dance at a dance. And that bump n grind thing everyone does don't count because y'all don't even make sure to stay on beat for that dance.
You don't see it because there's no soul in music anymore, music isn't the same as it was back in the 90's. Now it's all mumble rap and weird nicki minaj crap.
i was so glad that he actually had a great time at this stupid dance... many people got hurt, included him, so i felt really happy seing him like this in the end :-)
I like that Delia wasn't freaked out by it. She was like "Fuck it, let's do this."
Every single time I hear this song, I am happily brought right back to this scene. Thank you, Ricky and Delia FOREVER
this is what happened to me literary 5 min ago :) I heard it on winamp, and remembered it was in this scene, than searched it on youtube :D And here we are :D
I think of this scene every time I hear this song!
+Stacey B. I do the same with the Angela dancing in her room scene to Blister n the Sun.
Me too. This scene is what introduced me to the song, and I had to find out who it was so I go get album. Lol
Me too😍😍

Mine too!
LOVE this scene.
As an adult, I appreciate that this show taught you just how to be yourself, and let others in.

TV's all-time best "F*ck everyone else and let's just be ourselves" scene.
This scene gives me serotonin
LOVE THIS SCENE. Ricky's dancing was awesome.
This scene still plays in my head rent free since it aired.
This is such an important scene to me because it symbolizes self-acceptance and genuine friendship. Love it.

I've had moments like this. I'm right there with you, Ricky. The most memorable scene of the series.
And to believe it was twenty years ago, today when this episode aired? I love that show.
i agree ... i remember this scene so clearly when it first aired ... very memorable. This was one of the best shows ever on network TV.
Remember watching this so many years ago with tears of happiness, such a beautiful scene 👏
When the jock is watching the gay dude ... yep that’s how it happens too lol!! Love this scene!! I miss the 90’s so much!
Ricky was is still to this day the best gay friend on TV, there might be a lot more now but he'll always be the best to me (and probably the first)
I loved Ricky and then I discovered Sex and the City's "Anthony". :)
He was the 1st openly gay actor, playing the 1st gay character on prime time tv.
Iconic scene
Ricky got some moves!! Lol =) I love this episode. What an awesome fun scene. love Ricky
Just thought of this scene today and was so happy it’s on here 💕💕
This scene changed my life back then accepting my identity and getting in with living my life.
wow. that is really strong mgs

This scene lives rent free in my mind.

🤭There's a lot of unresolved emotions with this show. 🤣 Stupid Brian.
The only scene that lives in my head from the short-lived series.
same! i just heard this song on the radio and i had to find the video to rewatch it. i love it
Ricky was getting it down, but I love this scene because it shows his confidence
I love this whole scene. Rickie was himself and he didn't care. I love the hug, too.
I heard this tune today and came here for this specific scene
Ricky was the coolest then and now
I knew what was up as I had gay friends from elementary school through the present
Some of my best memories were being friends with them but especially parties and without a doubt the clubs all night long even past the sunrise
Unforgettable
Love this and memorable!
I always thought Ricky was so badass right here. I loved the fact that at that moment, he didn't give a f*ck about anything. Not a care in the world.
Can’t get more 90’s than this
Still love it I miss this show
He is dancing like a BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!
This how meant so much to me. I love this scene.
This is what made me love the song. LOL. I first heard it in this scene. Was my favorite scene too. DANCE RICKY DANCE!!!! lol
Fave episode of all time and mostly because of this scene.
My favorite scene of the whole series.
This one of most memorable scenes when I watched this as kid, Ricky fuckin killed this dance scene, it meant so much!!! 👍👍

I loved this show!!
That was EPIC! I saw that when it was released.
When James Brown said, "Get up offa that thing, and dance 'till you feel better." This is what he meant
Go Ricky! Nearly 30 years later and I still love MSCL!
LOLOLOL 😂
Just saw the serie, I loved it so much ! I'm glad I didn't watched it back then because I wouldn't have loved it as much as I did now.
Dayum he is FABULOUS
RICKY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing.
I love how weirded out Sharon looks while Kyle's diggin' it so hard! LOL!
Ricky is the best !!
That scene alone symbolizes My So Called Life. Such an iconic scene. The Roxbury Guys should’ve joined these two on the dance floor.
MAn I miss the late 80s and 90s shows. Powerful show that was about real Ife.
I would have loooooved to dance with Ricky😊

If I get in an argument with my dad about me being gay, I like to watch this scene to feel better
Yesss ❤❤❤❤
ricky just keep on doing what your doing, lovely ;)
Most people I know associate this song with SNL. Not me. I always think of Ricky.
Ricky dança muito!!
When I first saw this scene, I thought that they were trying to imply that the Jock was gay....I wish they would have done a story line like that!
Today is the first time I ever saw this, and I have never seen this show. I thought they were implying the jock was gay too.
I think so guys.
I'm pretty sure they were.
secretly i saved love till the end so that i could be blown away.
