Scott and Mitch did the arranging for this and their other evolution videos or medleys with superfruit. Scott also played the piano for them to sing along to. They have a bunch more. Their Beyoncé medley and Rihanna Anti medley are very good. Actually they’re all good. Plus their whole album Future friends of all orginals they put out.

@@lynn2574 Have you heard Ptx's Wetten Dass medley? It also has wrecking ball in it and Mitch sings the lead part of that song in the medely. Not many people know of it since it was just a performance they did in Germany in 2014 but a couple years ago they released it on Spotify. Not sure if it's on any other music platforms but it can also be watched on RUclips.

There's a SuperFruit episode called "The Mash-up Game" where the boys and Tori Kelly get several VERY random song selections from fans and at the end of the episode sing a mash-up of all the songs. It seems to be something Scott and Mitch have enjoyed doing since high school. BTW, most SuperFruit vlog episodes have bloopers after the "subscribe" card, and this video shows Scott messing up on the very last line of the arrangement.

Great reaction! I do love a good Evolution of.... Scott and Mitch can blend their voices SO well. Jacob, I know you will love their mashup of Taylor's 1989. Yes, the whole album!

so happy ur reacting to superfruit! love all their musical projects and they're crazy talented to be making content like this while also making stuff for ptx at the same time! and like u said, they have 2 very different voices that complement each other so well. also i think that Scott and Mitch typically do their own arranging. hope u check out some more of their vids. they have some more evolution/covers and they also released some original music that i think u'd really enjoy!

Loved this reaction! The point where you wondered why Mitch flipped up when he could have gone with his mixed mask, I think, was to prepare for the next section and keep it seemless. One of the reasons his high parts are so impressive is that he is so skilled at register hopping, lol.

Superfruit’s mash-ups are pure genius. Sometimes during the bloopers that follow the video, you can here someone else speaking. Not sure if they are involved in the arrangement portion though. My understanding is that Scott & Mitch arrange the songs themselves. Anybody else in the comments know if anyone else is involved?

I know that music is your passion hence why I thought that I'd drop this insider info on how Gagas music career began: She was dropped by multiple record labels until she was signed as a songwriter to Interscope records. She wanted to become a singer herself, but the label gave her songs away to Britney Spears and other singers. One day Akon was writing songs for the Pussycat Dolls and he called in some writers because he couldn't find inspiration, hence why Gaga came in and started writing with them for the Pussycat dolls. Akon was fascinated with her writing style but also her outrageous outfits she'd wear every day. During that session they wrote "Just Dance" and Gaga sampled it in the booth, Akon took the recording and showed it to Jimmy Iovine (Head of Interscope Records) and said that he wanted to sign Gaga under his own record label and keep "Just Dance" for Gaga. Jimmy actually wanted to drop Gaga that very same week, hence why he immediately let him sign her under his label. They then put out "Just Dance" as her debut single, which didn't chart at all for 6 months. Akon actually took Gaga with him to interviews to help her with her career, you can find some of them on RUclips. Some of these hit songs were written a couple years before she was signed to Interscope, she just kept them until she found the right producers and label. Akon and his friend and Gagas producer RedOne were the one who pushed her into the techno-pop direction, since they wanted to find a niche for her. There's actually a video where her ex producer Fusari shares the creation process of "Paparazzi" on RUclips. I think it's super inspirational to be reminded of beginnings like these, especially for aspiring singers.

When I first started watching these SuperFruit studio videos, I assumed that they had someone playing keyboard for the video, though I know Scott usually plays when they are working out arrangements. But the more I watched I decided that Scott must have recorded the keyboard and they are singing to a pre-recorded accompaniment, which as a singer impresses me mightily. It's not like there's a steady beat; there are constant rhythm changes, pauses in the accompaniment, etc. and they not only come in on time but sometimes come in together, right on time, without looking at each other.

Superfruit's original album Future Friends is amazing too. And there are videos for every track bar one, I think.
You might want to talk to Endless Noise Studios in an interview about the PTX and Superfruit Evolution videos and mashups (think they recorded all the black background PTX 'live' videos there, and Superfruit's Frozen Medley, La La Land Medley, Pop Goes Broadway, etc), .
I heard a podcast where Endless Noise talked about first seeing PTX on The Sing Off and being amazed by them and getting in contact to say they had a studio if they wanted to use it. They were really eloquent and interesting when talking about PTX and Superfruit. I'll see if I can hunt out the link, it was a food/drink podcast with interview questions interspersed.

RUclips isn't letting me comment with links but it is a podcast called Forks on the Left and it is Episode 29 called Behind the Noise which is the one with Endless Noise talking about PTX and Superfruit.
They talk about the studio in the first bit, PTX from about 34 mins in.
EP 28 is Superfruit themselves and is fun, but is a bit more chaotic, includes a fruit based guessing game and a lot less information about music and recording!

They used to do these weekly, at least weekly, at the same time as keeping up with PTX heavy schedule of recording and releasing. Not surprising they'd get the writing and concept but then have to look at the words rather than having the time to rehearse it to performance level. It's amazing how much the 5 of them were doing, plus the outside bits that they were all doing too.

I too love Mitch and Scott's arrangements and performances in their Superfruit Evolution and Medley videos. This one is great. So are the ones mentioned in these comments. One other one I like that I didn't see mentioned is their "Empire" medley. It's a group of songs from the series "Empire" and was done as a promotion for the second season of the show, I think I read in partnership with Fox. It's a cool group of songs and they did an excellent job arranging and performing them too. I hope you will check it out sometime Jacob. Thanks.
