Hi Chris, I've been watching your videos lately while working on other projects and I must tell you I'm impressed. You do a great job with your vids, demos, and explanations. I have subscribed and I will be building some new projects that you have inspired me to build. I might even copy a few of yours. Thank you for sharing your skills with us.

Dude! This might be the best video I've seen so far during my rabbit hole journey! And the one of yours I watched before you told me to watch this one... Lol So helpful!
Can WLED also do this type of control with LED curtains and is it able to combine multiple curtains (or can you physically combine curtains for the same effect)
This video was super helpful and I'm about to tackle a project, but I have a question before I start. If I have 3 of the same type of LED strips but they're all different lengths, would it be best to hook them up to their own separate boards or would 1 board be fine? I'm worried I'll have a bunch of missing animations on the shorter runs of lights
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately i think they are only available to buy in the US. My guess is if domestic automation continues to grow here in the US they will expand!
Hey Chris. Very cool controller, but I have the WS2815 strip. Would this work for those or just the 5v strips? If not, what controller would you recommend for easy switch out from my old controller that went bad. I'd prefer WLED controller. Thanks So much.
I am looking to start a Pc building/gaming and workstation set up business. You have an amazing and informative channel, that I will be binge watching and learning for a long time to come. Thank you, you will help my dream business come to life.
Hi Chris! Thanks for the video! I got the board but stupid question which iPhone app should I use to connect to it. They don’t really provide that information in the package. Thanks in advance
Thanks for watching! Here is the website that has some of that information on! I don't have an iPhone so I don't want to give you the wrong info. kno.wled.ge/
Thanks Chris so it's super easy with an iPhone as well, once you connect to the WLED AP, it automatically brings up the setup screen to connect to wifi etc. Then all good.@@ChrisMaherDIY
Okay, Chris, great little video. Question though... do you feel it's worth the money considering how cheap it is to use a regular ESP32 with an I2S digital mike? admittedly I know it takes a bit more time to faff with but, is it worth the cost saving going that route? I recently started exploring WLED on my channel. Your videos have given me some inspiration so thank you for that, and keep up the great work!
Depends on much you Value your time, plan on 90 min to get the mic connected…but even then buying something like this will be much better packaged/robust than diy….Unless you want to spend more time haha
It also includes some capacitors, 2 fuses, and a barrel jack for DC power, ... so it's a nice board, it all depends on what you want. You could just solder an ESP32, a mic and a 5V power supply directly, which would be working fine as well.
What amp fuse does the controller use? I’m trying to inject power to the end of a 5m strip and want to use a fuse for the positive wire to the end of the 5 meter strip. I want to know what amp fuse to use?
Do you have any suggestions for how to mount the controller board? I need a box of sorts to secure it so I can place it inside a project. Great videos, SUBSCRIBED!
Hi, just wanna ask about the soldering thing. So I searched for silicone cable and there were choices 18AWG-32AWG and u haven’t mentioned which one should we use. So which one is good for les strips?
Oh Chris, I really could do with your help. I'm looking at using ESP32 with WLED as a LED controller for my mobile DJ setup. I'm creating a matrix of 7 x 8 x 32 panels. Neither of the two Controller links to the Amazon shop work. Hey there! So I just got one of the sound reactive boards for a project. Got it up and running, played around with it for about an hour and then uplugged it from power. Went back to it and went to plug it back in and now it its having problems. Initial problem was that it would turn on the leds but not react to the microphone but now nothing turns on other than LED1 on the board. Im also not hearing the relay click when it turns on. I'm suspecting i blew something, but wanted to know your thoughts if you have done any troubleshooting with these in your experience?
so i was able to determine i had some incorrect settings somehow in the WLED software. However, while the lights light up, my microphone does not work and any sound reactive patterns just operate like they were normal light patterns. Is there a specific setting for it to recognize the piano board in WLED?
Hello Chris, Looks like the controller is out of stock and can't be found online*. Do you have another link where i can buy this to try? .. Looked up the company but not much information on there also.
Hi Chris! I recently bought one of these boards (Sound reactive for roughly $50 USD) and it’s really great. However I don’t think they installed the “sound reactive” WLED software when they installed WLED. I don’t have the sound preference in the config options. Is there anyway to re-install the sound activation mode without connecting it to my computer?
Turns out that I needed to go into the “info” tab in WLED and turn on the sound reactive mode. Had no idea the info tab would have that ability but that’s where I found it. ☺️
Hey Chris - amazing video as always. Just 1 question, I want to make my cousin a portable DJ booth he can bring to his gigs. I already have the LEDs, maybe too many 😂😂 (NEVER) what I wanna ask you is: Since hes going to be DJing parties and shit, the music is going to be really loud. How would I use the sound react for the LEDs on his DJ booth if the sound is going to be extremely loud? I dont think the mic would do well in that environment. Is there an option somewhere where we can use an AUX cord and have the music go through a controller and the monitors at the same time? So its picking up the sound waves through the wire or cable instead of the huge, loud monitors? Thanks dude! Keep inspiring me 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 - Ed
I'm actually curious about this myself. Am currently building light tubes for my 80's cover band and was waiting for some loud music to see what it would do....and we never got it here. Not I'm left wondering. Would love to see the answer to this.
Hey Chris, quick question to Domestic Automation LLC boards, where can we get them? All links on any videos don't seem to work, unless I missed something??
I just purchased this board and the rope covered led strip you showed in another video. I plugged the board in and adjusted the number of LEDs to 250, and it was working great. I had to unplug it, and when I plugged it back in only around 60 LEDs were working. I tried to change it in settings and it was still adjusted to 250. I tried changing it to any different number and it’s not changing. Do you have any suggestions or know how to reset the board. Thank you. Btw this Chanel is amazing keep it up.
Thanks for watching! I would maybe first check the segments tab and make sure 250 is still showing there. If that somehow got changed to 60 then only the first 60 would show.
i don't know if you can answer this. i had order the non sound reactive one. i got power and everything hooked up. but wifi does not find it. and lights don't come on.
I am creating a clothing design course, we are focusing on wearable technology and the most accessible angle is with lights and music. Does anyone know of resources that instruct the process of using any of these addressable leds as wearable and portable?
HELP - I had this board and it was working well initially, however then I updated the WLED software and completely lost the Sound Reactive settings. I was able to upload a version of WLED with the Audio Reactive Usermod, but now I have no idea what the settings are supposed to be with regards to Mic Type and Pins used. Can Chris or anyone else who has this board help me get this working again??
Thanks for watching! I'm in the US and it's still available for me when I click on the link. If the link takes you to a different product it probably just means that it's not available to buy in your region yet.
Can't believe changing the name of the scrolling text animation was that easy. I googled and scoured Reddit to find out how to change the text and could not find any answers.

I bought/plugged this in but I cannot get it to light more than 30 lights??
Can you get this in the UK?
I am creating a clothing design course, we are focusing on wearable technology and the most accessible angle is with lights and music. Does anyone know of resources that instruct the process of using any of these addressable leds as wearable and portable?
Bonjour impossible de trouver ce controleur en France
Ok now let’s see this board with the govee Christmas lights lol.
Does this work with Linux? I will be using my Steam Deck.
how does this compare to the dig2go?
How many channels is it? How many LEDs can be per channel?
2 channels, upto 1,000 LEDs per channel.
Ever get it fixed?
Will this be available in Europe?
no at this time.
I purchased this controller but I can only get 30 2811 5 V pixels to come on even when I increased the amount in led preferences.
Which LED output are you using the "Tail" or "the spring clip" what color is the board?
is there something like this that uses 3.5 audio input instead of a mic ?
Legend! Kinda a big board and a little pricey though. But that’s the price you pay for convenience.
When I click on the link provided for the board it taking me to another product
Is this 5v only?
Natively yes, but their is a 12v adaptor available too.
@@domesticautomationllc So 12v power supply & 12v LEDs is ok? Thanks
link is not working anymore. different product in there
Thanks for watching!
0:36 it sure seems Jesus Loves You a lot XD
Weird flex this religion propaganda via WiFi 😶
Too expensive. You can buy a whole kit of some pretty nice lights power supply and controler that's pretty good as well.
Very helpful videos!
