- This is Part 2 of a ride I did on a wet morning with Captain Cranky through Mount Jerusalem National Park in Northern New South Wales. In this video, following on from my parting with the Crankiest of Captains, I take some great little back roads home instead of the easier and more direct options.
Part 1 can be viewed here: • Moist & Misty Morning ...

I am the Australian distributor for the Helmet Hook, an amazing and simple accessory for your bike which is designed to protect your helmet from damage. You can get yours in Australia here: www.helmethooka...
I'm a proud supporter of the world's largest synchronised motorcycle ride. Sync The Planet. sync-the-plane...
The big motorbike is pretty cool. The first dirt road is like a shortcut in a video game. Looks like great fun (if you don't drop it!)
I have location sharing on the phone too. That way if the worst happened, Mrs C would know roughly where I was.
I don't know about a video game! 🤣
That's a great idea too with turning on location sharing. 👍
That was enjoyable to watch mate. Great track! Stay safe :-)
Thanks mate, I appreciate it. Hope you stay safe also! 👍
First!!
That was a great route you picked to go back - made me want to ride those roads again!
The Rails trail is going all the way to Casino - I've seen the build on it near Naughton's Gap - where that tunnel was that I meant to explore...
I want to explore some of the other little ones in the area too, those ones I keep riding down or have done only part of, just to fill in the gaps.
Oh yeah, I did hear about it going to Casino. I wonder if it will go all the way from Byron to Casino though or just Lismore to Casino at first?
@@MrAusadventure Who knows what they'll do at first, but it will eventually go from Byron, through Bangalow, the Booyong nature reserve, Bexhill, Lismore and then out to Casino. It's going to have some beautiful scenery.
@@SpaghettioH Yeah, they've already opened up the other end at Casino and are working on extending it at the moment. It will be a great tourism draw card for the region I reckon.
I know I should do some kind of location sharing thing, especially as I use my phone to navigate, so it is mounted on the bikes
I was talking to some students the other day about what to do when riding alone away from home. I mentioned that Cranky always shares his route with his wife and checks in before and after riding more remote dirt tracks. I'm heading away on a trip later in the year and I'm thinking about getting a garmin inreach before the trip just in case I get tempted to venture down side roads in the outback.
@@MrAusadventure That sounds a good plan, especially in a huge country like Aus... at least in the UK our trails have so many ramblers, horse riders and dog walkers on them, I'd be found eventually!
Done that road and others in the region on a totally inappropriate bike
It always adds to the excitement level doing it on an inappropriate bike! 🤣
