Big shout out to Brandi and Aswathi, Brandi especially. I had my exams in April 2024 but haven't had the time to drop a comment. I promised myself that I was going to leave a comment if all things went well for me. My overall band was 11 (I am still in shock by the way) Writing 11, Speaking 11, Listening 10, Reading 10. All thanks to these preparation videos and some practice videos on RUclips. I also had less time to practice due to my multiple jobs. I studied rigorously for about a week or less before the exam. I do not advise this as I was under a lot of pressure. I am also from Nigeria by the way and I wrote my exam in Lagos, Nigeria. Good luck to everyone prepping for their exam.

It was a great learning session, most importantly I love the way Brandi has explained by providing the test taker responses and emphasizes on what needs to be corrected to grain a good score. By this way the preparation makes easier for the aspirants. Would love to see more such examples to compare different responses and categorize them with the scoring level they would get.

Hi, for the writing task 2, responding to survey, it is not necessary to keep a greeting at the start ? In the live sessions or in the samples, I have never seen a starting greeting. Can I start my response by greeting the person who is supposed to read the survey response? Will it give any extra points to start by greeting or it does not matter? If it doesn't matter, i would rather save it for the word count.

Hi Aritra! You can choose to format Writing Task 2 as an email, and if you do, you will need to include a greeting. But you don't need to use email format for Task 2; you can simply identify your position in the first line, then write a couple of paragraphs explaining why you feel that way. (Both formats are acceptable, and will not influence your score).

Hello. There is a spell-check option that will highlight words that have been spelled incorrectly. You will also see a drop-down menu when you right-click on the highlighted word that will provide 3 options that may be the word you were spelling. You have to choose the right one from that option.
