Please note most of the road was closed for work and we were allowed to drive before they started. Also, Speedometer is incorrect due to a smaller tire size than original.
The Mini Cooper S r53 has a 1.6 Supercharged 4 Cylinder Engine with 170PS (125 kW; 168 hp) at 6000rpm and 220 Nm (162 lbf⋅ft) at 4000rpm.
This Cooper S r53 has an upgraded Muffler and the brake system from the Mini Cooper S R53 JCW GP model.
Also in this Video 0-100kmh (0-62mph), 100-200kmh (62-124mph), high speed fly by and top speed driven of the Mini Cooper S r53 on the German Autobahn

Loved mine so much (when it worked) that I've owned it two times. Both times had the perfect love-hate relationship with it. It's one of the cars that crawls under your skin, stunning little machines (when they work lol).

What have been your main problems with your R53? I thought about getting a R53 JCW as a daily driver
@@usernamepleasehere Power steering pump failure, steering rack, and gearbox and clutch issues are pretty common (almost certain to happen at some point).
If atrocious fuel consumption and rattles do not bother you much, you will be happy with it. I would go for the post July 2004 models, because they received some technical upgrades (better gearboxes for example)
The 2005-06 coupes are perfectly reliable when you maintain them properly. MINI unreliability is a myth due to bad transmissions in some of the very earliest cars. The Tritec engine is a champ. Also, there was a recall on the power steering pump; I had mine replaced on my 2005 for free in 2014.

Great Driving, that is the only way to drive a R53! :) Try to learn a Rev matching while you downshift the gears; With R53 it is a pleasure and really fast to learn. Then...youll love it even more :

No it’s aftermarket but I don’t know what brand. It’s still one with a left and right mufflers like the oem
