- We had an incredible morning visiting the beautiful Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco! Did you know it is the third largest mosque in the world!? AND the largest Mosque in Africa!
We learnt a lot today on our tour of the Hassan II Mosque and hope to share some of the beautiful clips of the courtyard and stunning mosaics. It truly is picturesque on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Casablanca!

Do you guys ever have a bad day??? Apparently, not!
I've toured that mosque 3 times and have always been amazed by the architectural details. The Koran specifies that the mosque should connect sky to water, hence the opening roof and trough through the center of the main floor.
Such a beautiful learning experience. Did you tour the visitor center?
Also, I love seeing Oscar run around with his plush toy. Such joy to watch. Reminds me of my son at that age with his Abu from Aladdin.
Morocco is mystical and magical.
Hi Stephen, in the holly Quran, the correct verset is "And his throne was on the water", meaning the throne of God(Allah), but there is no specification to the sky, just we should pray in direction of the Mecque, this is why in the Mecque in evey direction we should direct the prayer to the center of the mosque (wich is the house built by Abraham and his son Ishmael).
For information, in Morocco we are the number one in all countries of the number of people remembring by heart the Quran, plus 1,5 million.
Morocco is a wonderfull contry, more than 1200 years of history, a bridge of civilisation and religions: Islam and Judaism, we have many jewishs living in Morocco and in the past and still, and all jewishs Moroccan still connected to the home country.

Hello beautiful family. Thank you for another excellent vlog, very enjoyable. Thank you also for mentioning that this Moroccan mosque is indeed very different from mosques found in other areas in the world. Indeed, this mosque has a typical Moresque or Andalusian style, similar to the Alhambra of Spain. This type of architecture is found solely in the western mediterrranean and different from the styles found in lets say the Middle East. Ofc there some shared "Byazantine" influences(like The horseshoe arch or also called the Moorish arch) which could found in other areas of the mediterranean world as well, incl Coptic architecture.
It's not Andalusian style it's our style because moroccan who brings this culture into Spain, don't forget that Spain was one of our colonies.
From the 11th century onwards, a series of Berber dynasties arose.[39][40][41] Under the Sanhaja Almoravid dynasty and the Masmuda Almohad dynasty,[42] Morocco dominated the Maghreb, al-Andalus in Iberia, and the western Mediterranean region. From the 13th century onwards the country saw a massive migration of the Banu Hilal Arab tribes. In the 13th and 14th centuries the Zenata Berber Marinids held power in Morocco and strove to replicate the successes of the Almohads through military campaigns in Algeria and Spain. They were followed by the Wattasids. In the 15th century, the Reconquista ended Muslim rule in Iberia and many Muslims and Jews fled to Morocco.[43]

It is certainly one of the most iconic buildings in the entire world. The Mosque epitomises the superior and unparalleled zellige, wood carving and plastering work of Moroccan artisans who came from all parts of the country. I'm glad that you visited this monunmental Mosque because I was going to ask you NOT to miss it!
