Scott Robertson ha, I have some of your old DVDs, u r talking about your fuzzy head getting into your shot when you are looking straight down over your drawing when drawing a tighter circle or ellipse lol
I've already bought the video and I can NOT wait for the next one in the series! I'm very satisfied with the first video, looking forward to getting things in perspective! :D Thanks, Scott.
I've got a couple of questions; You said "before it goes into the computer" I can assume you mean scanning it. What is the objective? To 3D model it? To give it color and texture with the accuracy of a machine? To quickly render evolutions of the original? Will you be using Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator etc.? What were the paper types? Weights? Finish (tooth) and finally markers, pens, pencils. I can see reproducing your techniques for my drawings of engines. Thanks! Oh, and your drawings have a crispness that I admire and strive for in my work.
First, I wanted to appreciate for all videos which you have uploaded in this channel and alsoI would ask you if is there any possibility for you to make a video about motorcycle's H-Point ?
I really want to learn how to sketch motorcycle designs as a hobby but I'm a beginner. Do you have any advice for someone just starting out? Would tracing be a bad thing to do? I want to get the basics down and work my way up.
Drawing motorcycles from observation is a good way to learn their anatomy and proportions. After doing a bunch of studies then try to draw an imaginary one, start with a side view.
Dear Scott Robertson, I would like to know if it's possible to access old tutorials that you did for Gnomon through Gumroad. I like Gumroad's interface and would be very nice to review automotive perspective. Thank you for your continuous hard work through all these years. 4th-year Automotive Design Student - Humber, Toronto. Canada. PS Any good websites or tutorials you would recommend on Automotive design and rendering? thanks again.
Unfortunately I do not own the rights to those old tutorials. Gnomon Workshop has the rights to those so I cannot post them here to my channel, sorry. The best I can offer are all the free tutorials that you can access via my book "How To Render".
Yeah, just use an ellipse first to define a square, then use the auto-foreshortening perspective construction. It's page 30-31 in my book, How To Draw.
All of your stuff is invaluable, Scott. Thanks. By the way, the quotation you use is misattributed to Aristotle. It's a great summation of the essence of practicing art, but it's actually a paraphrase from a book about philosophy in reference to some of Aristotle's ideas. Also, have a nice haircut. :-D
Scott Robertson It's from "Ethics and the Nature of Happiness," by Will Durant. I really don't think most people care. haha It's just an OCD thing with me. Again, he was still talking about Aristotle's views. Ultimately, I think it's a very fitting sentiment for you because you were one of the first artists that made it clear to me that excellence in what we do hinges on dedication and practice rather than a nebulous (and ultimately distracting) concept of "talent."
Greetings sir, Would you please suggest me some online automobile designing course which has been certified from some institutes or universities. That would be very kind of you.
guys get this tutorial absolute worth it. I bought it yesterday and I also adopted this method to character design.
BTW, getting a haircut today! This will make sense in the second clip.

Thanks

Started watching your videos and I love what I see! Any advice for foreshortening?

Marvellous! Just watching it...... now. Bye.
Sir, Do you now or plan in the future to offer affiliate partnerships for this course? If so how can I sign up?

Thanks. Do you know who I can attribute the quote too? Or should I just leave it blank next time? Or maybe "Aristotle Summarized" ?
