Jan Kiepura to moje wspomnienia Domu Rodzinnego, którego atmosfera przesycona była Jego ariami. W tych wspomnieniach jest również cudowna Anna German. Dziękuję, że mogę czasami wrócić do tych cudownych lat
This is great! How well your Father recorded the broadcast and how well you have stored it. Now, we listeners are the richer because of the care taken by both of you, and through your generous sharing. Many thanks to you.
Through my beloved mother I heard much about these artists but never heard their marvelous voices. Thank you for bringing this treat to me in my autumn years. Only wish my mother could enjoy it too. She grew up in Vienna while I only spent my first eight years there.
How extraordinary to discover this rare piece here. And how appropriate a title. It is Bitter Sweet to hear this star couple whose careers were cut short and sent into exile due to the Nazi era. The Austro/Hungarian Empire that bore these children and The Vienna that nurtured such talent was gone never to return. There were no digital video or cd/dvd so what remains after a continent shattered by war is priceless. Thank you.
Hard to believe that in 66 he passed away, my Father cried his eyes out my Dads friend told me , I was 6 yo at the time but my Father told me about getting his autograph 2 days in a row in Warsaw before the war . He signed it From big Jan to little Jan a sweet memory for me and a Kiepura fan myself 😊
Thank you ! My mother was listenning to them in Winter 1937, when they were in Poland and played host to the royal couple of Holland (who just had got married then). Greetings !
Lovely to hear such talent my late father was always talking about a polish tenor Jan kiepura he always said what a great tenor he was with Marta eggerrh it's awesome . I still have my doubts about the composer as Noel coward the music to me smacks as Ivor novello it's too much like his style still we ll never know amazing!!!
Such a lovely song sung by superb singers as Jan kiepura and Marta eggerrh wonderful music by Noel coward. The music to me is too much like ivor Novellos I'm not so sure if Noel had the musical talent for this we may never know still wonderful!!
@jurek46pink I reciprocate very cordially your kind message. Your channel and that of your esteemed colleague, parlophonman, contain many of the brightest gems of the RUclips treasury.

@parlophonman
I remember that it was widely said that
Kiepura arrived then totally cold and had
real problems with singing and performing.
@jurek46pink Thank you. Most kind.
@dzheger
The past suddenly brought to the present
time, may astonish us in many a way, indeed.

My elder brother was probably more
magnificent - not to erase this very piece
for his rock'n rolls.
