Leemon kicks things off with an introduction to Hedera’s vision of the world of tokenization. I'd recommend watching this video two or three or four times. Tokenization will change the world as we know it. Hedera is - by far - the most technically capable public network to facilitate this; and their ecosystem partners, including the global governing council of top-tier enterprises, institutions (and NGOs in the future) are second-to-none.
Dr Leemon Baird's invention of the Hashgraph consensus algorithm is on a par with Tim Berners-Lee inventing the World Wide Web. In ten years' time: 2031 everything of monetary value will have been tokenized. Some things will never be tokenized though: love and friendship ;)

Coro Gold brought me to Hedera Hashgraph & I’m so glad they did. All in on HBAR.
Ironically Coro Gold don't use HBAR. They run on a private version of Hashgraph - an agreement which pre-dates the public network Hedera. If I was them, I'd take a serious look at Hedera Token Service!

If one tokenizes “something of physical state” for lack of better words, who manages the physical goods the token represents? Why do I feel like this process will work like the COMEX? What am I missing when talking “tokenization of goods”?

What comment are you referring to? I'm trying to have a critical eye on this project and so far the only criticism I found is that it's not decentralized yet. Would love to hear more constructive criticism. People here are very excited, but I'm still trying to figure out the core differences from other 3rd gen ledgers like Cardano.

You can easily do this on xrp ledger at the base layer. In fact xrpl was the first blockchain to introduce tokenization. I also love hbar real world usecases will win in the end.

This is great for the platform, but what does it mean for HBAR? Sorry I am a novice here. What gives HBAR value?
hashgraph network runs on proof of stake, HBAR is that stake.
What gives BITCOIN value? A tamper proof distributed ledger and prevents double spend. That's whole proposition of Bitcoin.
But Hedera is beast. It's Bitcoin + ability to digitise entire world in a very legitimate manner.
Only imagination is limit. World is going to change massively in next 10 years.

Every transaction happens on Hedera platform has fee associated with it. That fee is paid using HBAR. AND to secure the network HBAR will be staked and we'll earn staking rewards. Rewards will come from transaction fee. More the usage of network higher the rewards.

Is HBAR decentralized? Thought I read somewhere that it's not an independent system. Have also read that hedera can create as many HBAR as they want. There is no protocol with limited supply.
No it's not.
Yes it WILL be decentralized eventually, checkout the Road To Decentralization video that Leemon did. Also, no they can never create more tokens. 50bn is the max and that'll be released over 15+years only if the token price is high enough. If it's not, then they won't be released.

Where can one purchase HBAR ?
Binance, I am from Mexico I bought Bitcoin through Bitso and transfered that bitcoin to my Binance account and swaped Bitcoin for Hbar

Why is everything about CONSUMING the hedera SERVICES? Seems like a brilliant ideea, but designed to be controlled by a few. How can I produce for the network? How can I be a part of it without being consumed by it? What about agency? It seems to easy for the council to 'censor' any consumer.
It seems to me that the censoring is implied, but that is supposed to be part of the 'trust' we share under Hedera...

How do you think ethereum sau bitcoin work? Centralized decision making, aka "core developers". Why do you think there are so many forks? And how does it help you if it's "open source" ? If you know the source code or not, you interact with the blockchains in the same way.
Right now the world is fast losing trust in governments, banks and corporations and I understand that Google is on this Hedera Governing Council. Next we will hear that Twitter and Amazon are involved. I'm seeing more control than trust in this scenario. And is there a field for social score?

@@mariai9549 I think mostly people act in their own self interest and to get the best from crypto for everyone, or as many people as possible, we should work with that fact not ignore it. Sure someone at XYZ Bank is probably working in their own self interest, but if that creates more decentralization (another node in a diverse location), it can create more value for the network, which can make it more accessible (nodes on cell phones by anyone with an iphone) and so on. Plus I think there is value to having a stable, cheap to use platform that almost anyone can access. Look at what's happening with NFTs now - money going to the artists and musicians not the big record labels!
