This song described how I met my wonderful girlfriend. I met her when she was in a bad place mentally and I had just starting coming out of a really hard school year before summer had started. We met at my church and if I had to describe our relationship, I would use this song. It spoke to me on 100 different levels at least, it is so amazing 😁. Thank you Needtobreathe for being one of the greatest bands I have ever had to joy to listen to. God bless you guys, and thank you Laura for being the my best friend and the greatest girlfriend I could ever ask for!

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” Romans 3:10-12 The first line in the song says, "You were there to pick me up and tell me I was good enough". We, by nature, are not "good enough". But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Another line says, "You always find the best in me the diamonds hiding underneath". I'm sorry but our best is not good enough according to the bible. All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Isaiah 64:6 I understand the context and Isaiah was speaking of the Israelites at the time but you also see that the same theme is in the new testament. That's why Jesus died on the cross. We can never be good enough. Our salvation depends on the finished work on the cross not on our good deeds.
