Hey Vic, I think you'll find that none of us think there's owt boring. I for one am excited for you all as you move forward. Lovely surprise for a Friday evening ☕️🍰
Been watching you 2/3 since inception. Trials and tribulations. Happy 'n' sad. You're doing well and will do better. I'm retired now but had my society servicing enterprise. New roaster (to be mastered and will be). Keep warm oven (to stop rattling and it will). It's all a hopeful advance into the unknown. Sometimes the unknown requires more clothes washes than usual. You're going up and not stagnating. Just give the customers what they want with good service and you'll never close. Sincere respect to you. Chris
Just a thought - or two!! Once your pie warmer has been warmed, it may stop rattling! Thought two - used coffee beans, if you have no other use for them, could be bagged up and sold for customers to fertilise/feed their gardens/plant pots/window boxes etc! Loved the show as always! xx Your hints of things to come sounds interesting xx
That pie warmer needs to go on the other side of the boat (wharf side) and put on a base to higher it up to window level, then the contents will sell themselves as impulse buys - as no one can walk past a sausage roll 🙂 Also get some Mylar bags and sell "Holly coffee beans" by post
Hi folks, forgetting you were closed last weekend, we moored our boat close to you. Sadly, no cakes, etc, oh well, next time. Pies, great idea, possibly with mushy peas or beens ? Also, to help keep going over the winter, how about a large bivouac over the seating area to ,keep the rain off. Incase you don't know, a bivouac is something that looks like a tent roof without the sides, front or back held up with poles and guy ropes. Just a thought, John and Cath, NB Steve.
Funnily enough I was researching books about beetles when your video notification came up , one that William might like is 'The Little Book Of Insects' , all about insects and their habitats , diets and behaviours plus more , love watching insects myself , fascinating creatures.
Hi, it's John and Daytona Beach. I try to watch all your videos. You guys are the most wonderful family. If I have a chance to get to England again I'm sure gonna try and get piece of pie and a nice cup of coffee from you.
Omg, pies. Didn’t get chance to come over in the summer and was thinking I’d missed “the boat” lol. Will defo be visiting for a pie and a coffee. We live in the midlands and the pies here are rubbish, originally from Lancashire. Can’t beat a northern pie 😊
In the winter and more clement times, you will find that HOT pies (hot anything) sell better than cold ones. Guess your new motto is "Roast, Rattle and Roll". Hope the season is a fruitful one for you both.
How about getting some oven door sealant strips...or heat resistant silicone to stop those glass doors from rattling? And how about keeping small amount of beans roasting so customers can see the machine in action and most importantly, smell the coffee aroma.
The new work space looks like it will come in every handy. The new appliances are nice. Because now you can keep things warm. Take care be safe. we will see you on the next video.😮😊
Lovely vlog of you getting ship shape for Cafe Opening, dear little William, he’s gorgeous and so polite 🥰 Can’t wait to see how first use of pie warmer goes ❤
Omgosh! So excited for you all!!!! This is awesome! I wish I lived over there so I could visit the Cafe boat everyday!!!! Put some sticky velcro on the doors so they still slide but are quiet! Or you could use those little pads thT you put on the bottom of chair legs, one side is adhesive and the other is fuzzy and soft.
Many, many, many years ago, before college - I worked in a warehouse district in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. Their was a coffee plant, "Folgers Coffee" near by and the smell of roasting coffee was sickening. I can only imagine how strong it will be in that small space. Good luck, the place looks great.
Cafe is looking great, very professional! We can't wait to see those beautiful cakes and goodies on the new counter. Here's to a successful Cafe season.
I never want your videos to end! Just so relaxing. Gentle to watch. I'm in South Wales but will make a trip to Marple one day to try your coffee and sausage rolls. Take care all.
Oh, that coffee, those lemon drizzle cakes, that salmon dinner-you are making me hungry. Thanks for taking us along. Your vlogs are always exciting and great fun. The upgraded kitchen with the pie warmer is going to be awesome. As young William is with insects, my son started at that age with dinosaurs.
How exciting. I would love to visit the cafe! But guys... None of my business, but ... I live in Norway and we have a lot of boats and coast. If I had a little boy roaming around my boat, he would definitely have had a light floating vest on. Best to you.
How wonderful that this potential entomologist is fascinated by crane flies, sea creatures with French LIZARD making an appearance!!!! It gives me enormous pleasure as a retired teacher to see children in awe and admiration of the natural world. Shiny beetles are very attractive. In French we have red and black beetles called Gendarmes.... this year they clustered in hordes in the last few weeks around tomato and pumpkin plants. I also wonder about a life jacket and swimming lessons for William however water savvy and boat savvy he learns to be I know from experience as a parent the heart in the mouth to see one of his age fall head forwards into a garden pond when four adults were indoors and boy, it was a dash! One cannot be complacent near water . 🦎🐬🦎🐬🦎
If you do make soup, Nigellas broccoli and stilton is lovely, and really easy. Love the idea of the pie warmer, mini pizzas for kids too perhaps? The kitchen is an amazing space now, well done! x
OMG I need to see you down south on the K&A, I’d be there every weekend, hope the new additions elevate your enterprise, William is such a smart little chap, maybe double trouble soon ? 🫣 great vlog again guys
Just a suggestion re protecting the wooden worktop. TUNG OIL is brilliant. Heat and water resistant, and completely food safe. Lots of info on Google - where to buy and how good it is. No strong smell either. Very natural. I protect my butchers block trolley with it. Start off with about 4 coats, and then re-apply about once a year. If I drop any liquid on it, it sits as if sitting on glass and can easily be wiped off, no water mark.
Just stick thin strips of felt to the glass doors of the warmer at the top Vic, they will still open or slide but the rattle of the doors will be gone😊.
Big changes.. bigger boat, or an apartment for the winter time maybe? Or you are expanding your sweet beautiful family? A delivery service lol. (Thats what I thought you were doing to your bike at first, turn it into a bike for local deliveries). A new book, I mean the possibilities are endless& make me excited to see all thats ahead&there is to come. Another great video of your guys' incredible life. The new additions &changes to your boat are amazing & are definitely worth it & pay for themselves in no time. I also love how curious William is about the nature and world around him. Just beautiful to watch and see. Someone reminded me of some, Ive been meaning to ask about as well. Holly had a leak a while back. Did you guys address and get that fixed yet? Also how is the range on Zero doing? Since we are heading towards winter, isnt the range also how you'll heat the boat? I know so many questions, from so many ppl, one could think its almost time for a nice festive Q & A 2024 video ;) Anyhoo, looking forward to next weeks vlog& all those yummy pies, cakes and coffee! Here is to a great opening weekend with perfect weather!
I have a local coffee shop around the corner who also roast their own beans. Sometimes they offer fresh waffles with powdered sugar on the weekend & they are super busy whenever they do. Anyways in the US I got used to drinking Vanilla Nut flavored coffee. Since moving to Berlin Ive had trouble getting a decent flavored coffee. Since this shop offered Hazelnut & had just found a decent Vanilla bean they were going to roast and add, I told em the mixture how to make the perfect Vanilla Nut Coffee. She said, oh for the holiday season this will be a nice addition. Hahaha its been a year, they constantly sell out of it, to the point that I often have to go back in order to be able to buy a bag. Its been a huge success for her& I couldn't be happier, as I get such fresh amazing coffee now, I cant describe just how much I love it. Its beautiful when a small shop, does something so nice for a customer and takes a lil risk& it then turns to pure profit for them in the end. So here is to your roasting adventure being the start of something great!!! They do let all of their beans sit for a week (?) or so after roasting before they sell them. I know, cause they have a few larger containers with dates of when the beans were roasted& are ready to sell sitting around. I'll be moving over to your lovely "Island" next year& deffo cant wait to try your coffee and all the yummy cakes you guys offer!
I love what you guys do. Personally I don’t eat carbs or sugar ☹️sorry, but coffee, yep I’d buy a load from you. ( note to self- visit and buy coffee)👍 I’m thinking the aromas from the coffee roaster and pie warmer could attract customers?
I was just about to buy the coffee mug from your website, but the total came to US$50 to Florida, so..... i'll just wait until I can get to the boat someday and buy it off here directly
Those cinnamon rolls probably brought customers downwind of you. I can send you my great great grandmother's baked bean recipe. About 1870's Canadian ranch beans, although she was from England. You do need to roast them for hours though. I'm not a particularly beany person, but these would be served before my hanging. Inexpensive and repeat cravers. Not much in them...navy beans, molasses, bacon, onion, tomato, and then the spices...I've been thinking of opening a little street cafe here in Victoria Canada, and really tasty pre prepared dishes are key.
I guess you need to check out videos of of the Midwest goodbye. Love the new look of your work area. Hope you due a video open use all the new stuff. Goodluck
Vic, being a bit of a home barista myself ( although I do not home roast beans) maybe you could give us the “Bean Journey”.. ? in other words are they single origin? what part of the world..? etc.. I loooooove coffee … 😉👍🏻…. I loved the end bit from Jo… 😂… she’s a strong willed lady, thanks for sharing and hi to William 👋🏻🪼🐬🐳🐋🐙
I have watched you for so long. When I see a vlog pops up it makes me smile because it will be fun and enjoyable. Do you think it might be a good thing to sell bags of your roasted coffee?
William- Please can i have a juice, awe bless him, he's a credit to you both.
William is turning into a proper little character ❤
I can see William eventually becoming the next David Attenborough....🪲🐞

Congratulations on the new additions. You could serve homemade soup and crunchy soda bread during winter too. Always a fave. :)
Good suggestion!
Need a mortgage to buy soda bread these days!🥴
Homemade soda bread!! You don't buy it!!!
Marvellous darling what a spiffing idea
I'm going to have to make some now! 😄
Delicious homemade soup and fresh crusty bread. I would drive 200 miles for that :) x
6:14 William has such good manors, wonderful parents, love it 😁
You have just made my Friday thank you. Wishing all the best in future with the Cafe boat. Take care all.
Tilt the pie warmer back and the glass won't wobble,
You two are doing a great job of everything!!! Love the changes on Holly and Williams’ “Please can I have a juice?” melted my heart! ❤🇦🇺

I agree, smell and sight will sell them pies.
Always a joy to see you all. Holly looks beautiful, the space looks very business like. Have a wonderful weekend 💜🙏

Hi, it's John and Daytona Beach. I try to watch all your videos. You guys are the most wonderful family. If I have a chance to get to England again I'm sure gonna try and get piece of pie and a nice cup of coffee from you.
We really shouldn't complain about rainy days in the UK when Helene just hit you guys.
Omg, pies. Didn’t get chance to come over in the summer and was thinking I’d missed “the boat” lol. Will defo be visiting for a pie and a coffee. We live in the midlands and the pies here are rubbish, originally from Lancashire. Can’t beat a northern pie 😊
Oh yes, nasty weather will drive those who come out to play to buy hot sausage rolls, pies and hot chocs etc! Good idea!
In the winter and more clement times, you will find that HOT pies (hot anything) sell better than cold ones. Guess your new motto is "Roast, Rattle and Roll". Hope the season is a fruitful one for you both.

Of course we are excited to see all the progress for Holly, including your new equipment 😀.

How exciting. I would love to visit the cafe! But guys... None of my business, but ... I live in Norway and we have a lot of boats and coast. If I had a little boy roaming around my boat, he would definitely have had a light floating vest on. Best to you.
We have wooden worktops with osmo oil, it’s actually very hard wearing. Keep up the good work guys.

Wow what a difference the extras will make to your businesses,as Vic would say Damn.❤❤

I always look forward to your VLOGs.
If you do make soup, Nigellas broccoli and stilton is lovely, and really easy. Love the idea of the pie warmer, mini pizzas for kids too perhaps? The kitchen is an amazing space now, well done! x
My son was also a big fan of bugs when he was young. He's a computer engineer today.

Pies are primo! Vege breakfast - egg, mushrooms and spinach. Yummmm

When I buy dark roast beans, they are quite dark and oily looking. I love dark roast for the taste and the fact that the caffeine is lower.
Just stick thin strips of felt to the glass doors of the warmer at the top Vic, they will still open or slide but the rattle of the doors will be gone😊.
There’s something really funny to me about seeing “Untitled Bean” on the roaster. Maybe the name of your first commercial roast? 😁
Watched this in the 1st minute of being released!
So much more space to display your wares 👍🤗 will there be Soup & jacket potatoes 🤔
Love Sue❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Who doesn’t love a hot sausage roll or a pie, a soup and chunk of crusty bread.
Ooh la la! Hot pies & sausage rolls! Bonfire food!🔥
Good luck ❤

Please, please put a life jacket 🛟 on William guys. My anxiety is through the roof! Great vlog, see you next week 👍😊
Vic use those stick-on magnetic door latches for the pie heater doors.
You could also sell bagged Holly The Cafe Boat Roasted Beans!
Might pop over one day for a coffee. Im only an hour away in Huddersfield. The place you bought your roaster lol
