This has such amazing story potential. This should be, at most, a co-op, narrative based story game. With the cinematics that were shown in this trailer, I am SUPER bummed to discover is an extraction shooter...

Extraction shooter is fine in principle, it's being pvp that's the big problem. Extraction can be a fun format if done well, like in the game Witchfire, which barely even registers as an extraction shooter while playing despite that being the main loop.

yeah, thought the same. It sparked my interest until I found out about pvp. I dont have much problem with pvp, but one of its consequences being hackers, especially in extraction shooters. I played hunt showdown for a long time until meeting a single cheater, the game got tainted forever for me, and after that every time I want to play it the only thing crossing my mind is some cheater are going to ruin it and take everything I grinded for in the game.

Yeah my interest in this instantly disappeared upon seeing it's pvp. The extraction shooter format with pvp is so soul-crushingly miserable. It's only remotely fun as co-op or singleplayer.
Even if you fall into a supernatural Lovecraftian horror world as an operator, you still gotta follow the rules of engagement.

As someone who enjoys trailers for their own sake this one is a masterpiece. The soundtrack, the incredibly crisp visuals, amazing mocap, impeccable timing and perfect reveal progression of locations and anomalies.
This somehow feels like the official trailer for modern horror media in general and i loved every second of it. I don't even care about the game, the cinematic team did an absolutely outstanding job on this trailer.

The problem is that there aren't. If you're like me and this specific niche of 'tacticool soldiers vs eldritch horrors' is what you crave, you have very few options. What's worse is that the two most recent promising games in that niche are both extraction shooters. This game and Beautiful Light look so good, but if you don't want pvp you're kinda screwed. I've had to mod left 4 dead extensively to kind of scratch this specific itch. It just gets frustrating after a while.

Damn, this looks awesome. I love that the team in this video is so often running for their lives and not just blasting through enemies with ease. It definitely gives a sense of desperation and difficulty that we'll probably have as players in the game. Can't wait to see more!

There was a game in the 90s called Rules of Engagement that was a tactical space fleet simulator, but what made it unique, was if you disabled and boarded an enemy ship it would load up a completely different game called Breach (if you owned it) for an XCOM like squad based boarding operation. So as cool as this game looks, I'm bummed it's not a remake of that game

With an incredible world and visuals like this, why is it being wasted on yet another fucking extraction shooter. This should be a co-op campaign style game like Gears of War, Halo, etc.

Trailer is very pretty but I'm dubious. I wish it just stuck with the cthulhy mythos/wider weird fiction inspirations, the fact it starts pulling in a bunch of Siren Head ripoffs makes me very wary. Both because it's inconsistent as a design aesthetic and also because Siren Head isn't a public domain creation like Cthulhu. It was made by Trevor Henderson and he hasn't given permission for it to be used anywhere.
So if a developer is just out there making very blatant Siren Head's it means theyre probably not actually putting much thought into their creature designs beyond "this is cool/will get the kiddies on the internet excited"
