Couple of other notes as I have been using this wallet for a few years now - it holds up. Definitely as great as when I got it - nylon straps and all. Also, the magnet - not a super safe thing, but you can attach coins to the outside (provided your coins have magnetic properties). I can usually attached a dollar or two the outside here in Canada. Also with the magnetic strap, you can attach the wallet to things - if you have something metal (your fridge, a cabinet, etc.) you can kind of 'dock' your wallet there. I attach mine to a metal drawer on the top of my desk and I always know where the wallet is :)
Had my Frenchie wallet for 7 years now i belive, still holds up great lol. At one point a friend of mine gifted me a burberry cardholder which i thought might replace it but i found out a cardholder is bigger and clunckier then the normal sized frenchie wallet which i have so i went back to my frenchie wallet after 2 days lol. Not thinking about buying a new wallet any time soon
Thanks for a great review. I have two of the Speed Wallets, a leather and a ballistic nylon. The biggest problem of this wallet is, when it is not full, cards are slipped out. It is likely to happen more in leather version since it is more stretchy. It is why I bought the nylon version after I'd lost my PP card in the leather version in an airport. And it is definitely thicker than slim wallets since it is a trifold. But I like its usability and still stick to it on daily basis.
I bought 2 x Frenchie speed wallet (regular size) on 21 Nov 2015 for $SGD 98. It was the coolest, sexiest wallet at that time. Fast forward to today, (7 years later), I can safely said the wallet survived my sweat, dirt and grim and definitely Covid-19 too. Still functional and working as expected. Im still rocking it. I vouch for the quality of this product. At this moment, I am looking to purchase my 2nd Frenchie. Still figuring if I should go mini or regular. The price of the regular Frenchie is a whooping $SGD 137 based on its website. Way, way more expensive than I bought them close to a decade ago. But I believe this investment will last me another decade if not more.
Awesome to hear that the wallet is still holding up strong nearly a decade later! And yea, that’s what you get with quality products - they aren’t cheap but they pay for themselves many times over
Any recommendations on water bottles. Too often I find myself carrying water in a main compartment in a hot country to keep it cooler rather than bottle holder
Got one a long time ago, best wallet i ever owned. The only problem is that my best friend wanted one and i ended buying another one for my brother. So i end up buying 3.
Thanks for the great review, Aaron! Was also hoping you could review Secrid wallets? Specifically the mini and the slim variants. I’ve been looking into minimalist wallets now, so it’d be awesome to see what you guys think of this brand!
Great question! Tav is still with Nomads Nation but he’s doing different things now. He’ll be handling the photography reviews (coming soon) and some storytelling videos (fjallraven story coming soon!). Thanks for the kind words about Margaret - she’s killing it so far!
I enjoyed the review. I like the wallet but thought I would check out your review of the Bellroy before purchasing but the link takes me to your best 7 backpacks. Cheers though, I like you give the good and bad.
Excellent review, just like all the others on this channel. I bought my backpack based on your reviews! This is a dope wallet, no doubt, but I'd suggest anyone looking for a small form factor wallet to check out Decadent Minimalist wallets. I have one in titanium, plus a money clip which is enough for me. I know cash is king, but a few hundred dollar bills is enough to get me by.
@@Nomads.Nation my favorite. Had the ridge, a few different trayvax ones, but haven't looked back since this one. Handles cash and cards extremely well
Great video review of the wallet Aaron. Well done! Check out some great wallets at "Ashland leather" They have a great youtube channel that displays the variety of pretty cool wallets they offer. I have the "Frank the Enforcer" card case model in my EDC. Hope all is going well in your neck of the woods. Stay safe. (Mike in Ohio).
Great to hear from you Mike! Thanks so much for the recommendation, I just checked them out and they seem really nicely designed. I’ve added to our wish list :)
Whenever you feel that you don't need it please let me know 27th February is my birthday but I can't buy this wallet cause I am not that rich. If you could then please let me know thank youu

@@vegardgeiner1045 same, I still look at other wallets on RUclips, etc but I don't think there's anything that comes close to as perfect for me

Awesome to hear! And I agree - if you don’t carry a lot of cards then the leather version isn’t for you

Same here! with their original saddlebrown color of the cardholder! voucher
Hi! I’m looking forward to buy this wallet for a pressent, the one you bought years ago was leather or ballistic nylon?
Do you know if metal cards fall out? I've found metal cards slip out a lot on other minimalist wallets.
The more packed it is the more secure the metal card will be, but yea, they are less secure than plastic embossed cards

Hydro flask has great insulated water bottles but they are a bit heavy

I was told the Carbon are better in terms of full RFID coverage , long lasting materials and also durability
Thanks for sharing!
I love mine. Had it for 2 years now.
Nice!
Hi! Did you get a leather or ballistic?

Wish these wallets were waterproof lol. I go kayaking and need a wallet that can float. (I don’t leave my stuff in the car because of theft)
Ahh makes sense. Hopefully we’ll be able to review some waterproof wallets soon!
Love the look and the unique design here. However, it looks way to big; 2”-3” thick maybe? Can’t be comfortable in any pocket.
Sup JC! Yea I agree, that’s why I’m sticking to my super-thin Bellroy note for now
Would be great to also review of Frenchie Speed Backpacks
Hopefully soon!
I waaaaant one 🔥🔥🔥
Cant' blame ya haha

Beautiful wallet, but the Frenchie Co does not seem real practical. Also, anything made in Colombia is questionable.
High quality products are made around the world, and this wallet is very well made in my opinion.
